Adalimumab "I was diagnosed with reactive arthritis in April 2005 (bacterial arthritis) following salmonella food poisoning. Since reactive arthritis is not a well-known disease, there were no drugs for me to take, with the exception of massive doses of prednisone. However, in January of 2008, my doctor started me on a trial of Humira. It is now 7 months later, and I am a different person. The injections are really painful, so my pharmacist takes it out of the fridge 45 minutes before, and it is virtually pain-free."

Adalimumab "Was on Enbrel for about 6 months, and it stopped working for me. Humira and a combination of oral drugs had me pain-free in a few days. However, it does not feel like it lasts a full 2 weeks. After day 10, I start with minor pain working up to about a 5 or 6, then back down from there."

"I too was on Enbrel for about 6 months (for Reiter's syndrome). It worked well at first. Around month 5, it stopped working. Went to Humira (1 month now). So far, it has worked wonders. I noticed improvement after a few days. Seemed to weaken after week 2, after the 2nd shot taken, back up and feeling strong. (Probably builds up in the system.) I'm feeling more energetic, like my old self. First time in years, I'm thinking of going back to work. Hope it keeps working. Reiter's syndrome 20 years, recently Crohn's disease. Cost of Humira $20.00 (with my insurance), no insurance, I understand it's about $2,000 a month? I also understand if you contact Humira, you may get it for free or a very large discount. Other insurance? All over the $ board. So far, Humira is great."
