"I had become castrate-resistant after undergoing hormonal therapy for about 1 year (Zoladex) and chemotherapy, which turned out to be unsuccessful, due to a BRCA 2 gene loss mutation problem. My doctor prescribed me this new drug 'Akeega'. I have been on it since March 2025, and my PSA went down from 85 to 30, and from 30 to 19 approximately in the space of about 3 months. The side effects weren't bad at all, aside from extreme fatigue in the very beginning. I now have started to regain my strength. It can cause low appetite and give you a metallic taste when eating foods. Try different tricks to alleviate the metallic taste of food, like changing your utensils from metallic to bamboo and do not shy away from spices to stimulate your taste buds. Overall, I am satisfied with this medication, as I had lost hope of ever walking again after being operated on in my spine due to another tumor growth. However, I feel better and more functional in my daily activities."
