Usual Adult Dose for Edema
2-4 mg per day orally in 1-2 divided doses.
Usual Adult Dose for Hypertension
2-4 mg per day orally in 1-2 divided doses.
Renal Dose Adjustments
CrCl < 25 mL/min: Not recommended.
CrCl 25-80 mL/min: Initial dose: 2 mg orally once a day.
Maintenance dose: 2-4 mg/day as a single or 2 divided doses.

The maximum recommended dose is 4 mg per day.
Periodic monitoring of electrolytes is recommended, particularly in elderly patients and in patients receiving a high dose.
