Usual Adult Dose for Anxiety
Initial dose: 20 mg orally 3 times a day.
Maximum Dose: 160 mg
Usual Geriatric Dose for Anxiety
Initial dose: 20 mg orally twice a day.
Dose Adjustments
The dose may be increased to achieve a maximum therapeutic effect at intervals of 3-4 days. Should be used with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
For debilitated patients: Initial dose 20 mg 2 times a day.
Precautions
In all patients, dosage should be reduced gradually when discontinuing therapy.
