Usual Adult Dose for Cold Symptoms
Maintenance dose: 20 mL orally every 4 hours
Maximum dose: 6 doses in 24 hours

Patient advice:
- Take only as directed.
- Ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking if you take sedatives or tranquilizers.
- May cause drowsiness
- Do not use:
- If you take a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric, or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product if you do not know if your prescription drug contains an MAOI.
- To put a child to sleep
- Ask a doctor before taking if you have:
- Difficulty urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland
- Glaucoma
- A cough with too much phlegm (mucus)
- Trouble breathing due to emphysema or chronic bronchitis
- A cough that lasts or is chronic due to smoking, asthma, or emphysema
- When using this product:
- Avoid drinking alcohol
- Alcohol, sedatives, and tranquilizers may increase drowsiness
- Exercise caution when driving a motor vehicle or operating machinery
- Excitability can occur in anyone, but more likely in children
