"I have been on this drug treatment for 6 months now. It is keeping my UC in remission for which I am grateful. However, side effects of fatigue and joint pain are very annoying. Still, at least I can now travel without a Public Toilet app on my phone."

Vedolizumab "It saved my life. I thought I was on my way out. My doctors tried everything. Nothing worked. Until I saw an ad on TV about Entyvio. I told my doctor about it, and soon enough I was getting infusions. Now I inject myself every two weeks. It works great. I have total respect for the scientists that made this drug. As for side effects, none. And if I get side effects, bring it on. Nothing like UC that was messing up my life. Entyvio, thank you, thank you, thank you."

"I have UC affecting my rectum and sigmoid. I have been flaring since last Christmas, went on prednisolone, tacrolimus suppositories, foam enemas, pred suppositories with little effect. I then started to react to prednisolone, so tapered down as quickly as possible. I had a reaction to azathioprine, so no go there. I've had months of budesonide MMX, which worked until September, then stopped despite taking foam enemas and suppositories. I started vedolizumab 2 weeks ago, and already I've halved the amount of times I go to the toilet, now able to sleep through and hardly any bleeding. So far, this is my magic cure! I've just had my second dose today. I just feel sleepy in the evening of the infusion, get leg cramps for a day or two, and that's about it. Keeping my fingers crossed."

Vedolizumab "In 1997, I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis (age 26) with a massive first flare-up that landed me in the hospital. For 2 decades, I maintained a reasonable lifestyle taking a very high daily dose of mesalamine + steroids as needed to combat any serious flare-ups. After my insurance company declined to pay for mesalamine due to cheaper alternatives, I was no longer able to maintain decent remission (10-20 bathroom trips per day). My doctor recommended a biologic for my moderate to severe ulcerative colitis in 2020. He gave me 2-3 biologic options to consider + commentary on each. I selected Entyvio, which probably took about 6 weeks to start working. I've been on it continuously for 5 years now. Since taking Entyvio, I have not experienced a SINGLE flare-up and very little side effects. Entyvio has really improved the quality of my life. I hope this keeps working indefinitely. This has been the longest remission of my adult life. It would be amazing if Entyvio could help you too."

Vedolizumab "Excellent for UC. However, I have had a case of terrible shingles (herpes zoster) for which I hadn’t been given a preventative vaccine in Spain. I also have horrific sinusitis/rhinitis, which may or may not be connected. The last three months have been tough. By the way, in Spain, this drug is free on the national health service for all UC patients."

Vedolizumab "I took Renflexis for 7 months but had a widespread and itchy rash that started in month 3 and just got worse. I was switched to Entyvio and have been taking it for 8 months. I'm not a fan of infusions, but at least this one only takes half an hour. I haven't had any more rash problems. I still have bleeding occasionally but no bad cramping. I got a strange, bad headache after the first few doses. It was in the back of my head and ran down my neck, shoulders, and arms. Now the only side effect I experience is tiredness. It's the worst right after the infusion. I know to go straight home and rest for the rest of the day. I'm okay with taking Entyvio for now. Too bad it doesn't help my chronic, severe eczema. It would be nice to have some biologics approved by insurance companies that do double duty for those of us who have more than one autoimmune issue. I do appreciate the company's financial assistance program."

"The good: It worked incredibly well for me when I used it every four months. The bad: Now I don't know if this is linked to the drug for sure...but a few months after taking the drug, my blood tests started coming back abnormal. Later in the year, I was diagnosed with PSC (Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis), a form of liver disease. Likewise, there are lots of horrible side effects like sore throat, fatigue, increased joint pains, etc. Due to the weakened immune system, I also got a bunch of infections, especially in hair follicles, which caused severe itchiness. I also got a heart infection (pericarditis), two lots of pneumonia, and an opportunistic lung infection that forced me to permanently cease use of the drug. My consultant told me if I remained on it I would die. So all of these infections are all pretty serious and life-threatening. Only take this drug if you are desperate and have no other options. Bear in mind, as good as the drug can be for treating the bowel, the drug could cost you your life."

Vedolizumab "On Entyvio for 7 years. Tried Humira previously, and it did not work. Entyvio has worked well for me. I still have some mild UC symptoms from time to time. I plan to stick with Entyvio until it doesn't work anymore."

Vedolizumab "I tried two other meds before my doctors found this. They were not good experiences. I've had good infusions with Entyvio. Years ago, I did prednisone and Sulfasalazine. I hated it. What to do? Just hang in there. The Entyvio is working great."

"I have been on Entyvio for about a year and a half. It has been wonderful, as long as I follow my diet. I think it’s great. I had a colonoscopy April 30, and the results were the best that I ever had, so the drug is doing something and it’s great."

Vedolizumab "I have tried almost every medicine there is, even Entyvio, but one medicine that I guarantee will help you is taking Suboxone. Please take my advice when you have a whole film of Suboxone, cut them into 4 slices, take just a quarter. I guarantee you that the diarrhea, the pains, and everything else will go away. Suboxone for ulcerative colitis has been a miracle drug for me and has helped me be in remission for about 4 years. Now I had it when I was 23, I took Suboxone at the age of 24, and I have been amazed. Suboxone is used to treat people with addiction, but it can be a miracle drug for other sicknesses. Please take my advice and at least give it a try, I promise you it will work better than any drug. The doctors have no idea what works because they are not rocket scientists and they don't have what we have. We, on the other hand, know what works and what doesn't."

Vedolizumab "Entyvio works, but it wears off after 3 weeks. It is 8 weeks between the IVs. By 5 weeks, I am back to passing mush and having accidents. This is not acceptable for a $40K drug."
