"Update: I was the first here to comment on this medicine for atopic dermatitis, and I wish to provide an update. I've now been taking Rinvoq well over 1.5 years and I'm still very satisfied. The medicine works very consistently and the eczema is completely clear (unless you forget a dose and it slowly returns, Short working drug!). Previously, I started with 15mg twice a day (so 30mg a day), and I've been able to reduce to (close to) 15mg once daily. Side effects haven't been all that intense anymore, and the values for my kidneys remain stable. Me and my derma are monitoring consistently and so far, it's looking good. Hope this can last for a long time when a better alternative presents itself. (I have been dealing with severe dermatitis (eczema) all my life, for 37 years)."

Upadacitinib "I have found no positive result with my eczema and am now concerned about my future health due to the risk of this medication and its side effects. Only natural creams would get rid of the issue! Not all medicine is good! Also, I was hit with shingles, another side effect of the medication, and now I have that to worry about forever. Not impressed. So many other things have been done, like trying to find any creams or steroids that would help me. Meaning, Rinvoq wasn't!"

Upadacitinib "Rinvoq has changed my life. I do not exaggerate when I say that. I take 15 mg per day, and within the initial weeks of taking the medication, my AD, which covered 90% of my body, had reduced down to nearer 10%. I have not used a steroid cream in 18 months, and my itch was gone within two days of starting the dose. If you miss a day, you do see it come back, so be mindful to take it on time. But after trying 5 other biologics, this has officially changed my quality of life. Initially, side effects included a fever and some nausea, these went away fast, but be aware it can happen."

Upadacitinib "I was finally put on Rinvoq after trying other medications that didn't help at all. I have multiple conditions that are helped with Rinvoq and am quite happy with the results. After only 2-3 days all my dermatitis symptoms stopped, I could hardly believe it. I had to stop taking Rinvoq after a colonoscopy (Crohn's disease) found lymphoma, but after further testing and PET scan, the diagnosis was changed to EBV (apparently looks alike). After just 2 days off Rinvoq, my dermatitis symptoms returned. Lucky for me, my gastroenterologist put me back on Rinvoq 15mg, and after less than 2 days, my symptoms had stopped again and I'm still mostly symptom-free. I'm so happy."

Upadacitinib "I started Rinvoq about 10 months ago. I had chronic itching, usually had about 4 hours of sleep a night. Tried diets, medications, phototherapy, everything to help. The drug was life-changing for me, within 3 days, I was getting a straight 8 hours. When I started on the drug, I was also going through physio for back pain, it wasn’t perfect, but it was helping. However, over the last 6 months, it’s gotten worse and is now chronically painful. The level fluctuates, but it is always there. I’m currently going to see a chiropractor, but I have a feeling this drug is causing the muscle inflammation (I’ve also had steroid injections into my disks, MRI scans, and X-rays which show chronic inflammation in my lower back and hip). I had to come off for a week due to an infection, my skin started up within 48 hours. I’ve recently tried to lower the dose to every other day (I’m on 15 mg), but again, my skin started up again. I have a consultation next week, hoping for some help!"

Upadacitinib "To say this drug was a game changer for me is an understatement. I have struggled with eczema for years, and it had gotten progressively worse as time passed. My quality of life tanked, as I couldn't sleep at night from the persistent itching, in addition to having splotchy red spots all over my body. I tried multiple steroid creams as well as Dupixent (injectable), and while it initially helped, the effects eventually wore off. Once I started Rinvoq, within two weeks, my rash had disappeared and my itching stopped. I've had minimal side effects from it, and my routine lab work doesn't show anything abnormal. I am so grateful for this medication, as it has changed my life for the better!"

Upadacitinib "I never realized how much I was truly suffering until I started taking 15 mg Rinvoq. Everything cleared up on my skin. Also had wonderful relief for gastro issues and IBD. Side effects are troublesome, but the relief I got outweighed the Jake and high cholesterol."

Upadacitinib "I have been taking Rinvoq 15 mg daily for about a month and a half. It was the only one of several medications that improved and cleared up my skin condition. In the last week, however, I have developed strong tingling and numbness in both my arms, hands, and up into my rotator. I looked online and found several other people who had experienced the same issues and had to stop taking the medication. I'll be speaking to my doctor this week, but will stop taking the Rinvoq now to see if these side effects abate over the next period of time."

"RINVOC 15 mg was prescribed for me by my dermatologist, who is an associate professor in dermatology and has upgraded his knowledge by attending conferences in America on a regular basis. He also lectures students in training at University UWA. When I reacted severely to other medications, this one saved my life. I sometimes have flare-ups. I’m very sensitive to chemical ingredients in some other meds, itch terribly during summer, autumn, and spring, and have less irritation during winter. I had a little break for one month off RINVOC, but then I had to restart treatment. I’ve been receiving dermatological treatment for the last 15 years, which includes several courses of light therapy. The doctor tried zinc wraps, which were soothing over 8 weeks. The only side effects from RINVOC were when the doctor first prescribed a 30 mg dosage. I experience lightheadedness, a headache, a bit of confusion, and slight loss of balance. I’m currently experiencing some pain relief for my osteoarthritis of upper lumbar 4 & 5."

"I started Rinvoq after suffering from chronic urticaria and eczema flares which were linked to my hormones. I tried Xolar, Dupilumab, dapsone, and dual treatments to no avail. Only prednisolone worked. I started on Rinvoq 30 mg and felt less itchy, but then after a few months, I started to get sick every month with the flu or COVID, and my stomach was very sore and swollen. I also had whooshing in my ears, my blood pressure increased, and hot flushes and sweats. I went down to 15 mg and still had high blood pressure and bad sweats, and then severe sensitivity to the sun, and my skin was slow to heal. I stopped Rinvoq a week ago, and my skin recovered immediately, and the sweats stopped, whooshing in my head stopped, and my stomach was not swollen. It was amazing. I sleep better, and all itching from heat and sun calmed. I would not recommend this drug at all."
