For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Mounjaro on 9/1. This resulted in the very worst month of my life. WEEK ONE - Super Nauseous, indigestion, stomach pain for 3-4 days of the first week. My appetite went from a 10 to a 2 (which was good). WEEK TWO - I had diarrhea for 3-4 days, along with sulfur belches, nausea, stomach pain. I ended up having to take sick days and go get an IV bag to recover from the dehydration. WEEK THREE - World-class nausea and vomiting. 3 days of vomiting so hard that I ruptured my esophagus. The entire month, if I was not having diarrhea, I was VERY constipated. I lost 9 lbs in one month, but I don't know if it was because I could barely eat due to the sickness. PASS!!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Mounjaro for just two weeks. I've lost 5 pounds without trying. While that's nice, I am posting a very early review to let other newbies know that other than some indigestion the first two days, I haven't had any side effects. I had major constipation on Ozempic. I find taking a daily stool softener, staying hydrated, taking a Metamucil tablet daily, and taking a daily prebiotic (get the refrigerated one in your pharmacy as it has live cultures. Keep it refrigerated!). I'm on 5 mg, but I am moving up to 7.5 next week. I will go to 10 mg if there is no supply of 7.5. My pharmacist said to get my order for the 7.5 mg in at least 7 days early so they can get it in on time. They don't stock it, but they get it overnight. Just FYI, after using Ozempic and Mounjaro, I weigh less than I did 10 years ago. I've gone down 4 sizes and 4 inches off my waist since Christmas! Now a petite XL rapidly headed to petite L."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My A1C was 7, two months. It just continued to go up. My mom and grandmother were both diabetic. I started Mounjaro 8 weeks ago. I had a lot of acid indigestion. It’s now 8 weeks later, and I have lost 18 pounds. I completely lost my appetite, but it’s coming. My craving for ice cream, donuts, and cookies is completely gone. It is such a relief to not be constantly thinking about food all the time. I saw the doctor today and was pleased with my weight loss. He increased the dosage to 5 mg."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am starting my 3rd month on Mounjaro. I have been overweight/obese most of my adult life. I have lost some weight but not as much as I expected. I feel terrible - I suffer with exhaustion, constipation, indigestion, depression, and nausea. I just do not feel good. It has sucked the joy out of my life. I used to exercise much more when I was not taking Mounjaro. I don't want to do anything. I am wondering if it is worth it?"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Horrible experience taking this drug. I do not recommend taking this medication unless you want to die. I started taking 2.5 mg 6 days ago. Day 2 and 3 had no appetite and ate very little because the thought of food made me sick. Day 4 and 5 developed nausea, severe abdominal pain, and indigestion unrelieved by antacids. I also have lost five lbs because I am unable to eat or drink anything. I do not have any energy or feel like doing anything. Day 6 and I still feel sick. My fasting blood sugar this morning was 224 even though I am not eating or drinking hardly anything at all. It is noon, and I haven’t eaten anything because I’m afraid I will throw up. My heart rate is 120 and normally runs in the eighties. My doctor is out of the office this week for holidays. Just hoping and praying I don’t wind up in the emergency room. I will never inject this toxic stuff into my body again. I also read that it can cause thyroid cancer."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I took Mounjaro for 5 weeks, had to stop taking it due to acid reflux and severe indigestion, been off it for 3 full weeks and still having severe stomach problems. Eating very small meals, drinking a gallon of water every day, don’t lay down after eating, blah, blah. Now I have to go see a stomach specialist. I do not recommend taking this medication."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am overweight and was sent to an endocrinologist by my PCP. A1C came back 6.9, and I received the dreaded diabetes diagnosis. The endocrinologist asked me about my eating habits and suggested Mounjaro once a week injection. Sceptical I was, but I was willing to try to get my weight down and get my A1C down. First injection, no severe vomiting or anything. The only side effect I had was the constipation, I was put on a stool softener and take fiber daily, which eliminated that side effect. Within two months, I was down 15 pounds, have not given in to eating a Boston crème doughnut, on which I tend to binge, limited on my intake of food because overindulging makes me feel lousy and gives me indigestion. Within three months, my A1C is down to 5.3, and my weight is still going down. Thank you so much to the researchers who created this drug because it has saved my life and gotten me on the road to better health. The needle doesn't even hurt when I self-inject. I am grateful."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have just started the smallest dosage of Mounjaro 2.5mg/5ml and just took my 3rd injection (so I am 17 days in). I have noticed a marked decrease in appetite and have dropped 6.5 lbs (which is pretty good since I started on December 17th, right before the holiday meals and treats). The only negatives have been minor stomach distress (but I had that issue prior to starting Mounjaro), and on day 16, I have had indigestion and hiccups, which I am still trying to calm down. The hiccups stopped, but the indigestion is lingering. The injections are easy and not painful. My daily finger prick to monitor my blood sugar is more noticeable, so don’t let the injections scare you away. So far, it seems to be working very well."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I'm only on my second week, but I've lost 7 pounds so far. It forces me to eat because if I don't, I feel sick, but when I eat, I get full super fast. So it's like it's forcing me to do good and not starve myself. I really like that. The first week I had slight nausea here and there and a couple of headaches. Also, a little indigestion. I do feel pretty tired. I've been eating a low-carb diet. I'm going to incorporate exercise at the end of this week. I can only imagine how much I have the potential to lose once I start exercising if I've lost 7 just by eating better. Overall, I am satisfied with this drug. I'm on the low dose right now."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "My wife has been taking it since January this year and has lost just a hair over 50 lbs. It has done very well for her and the weight is staying off. The only side effects noticed so far are that it makes you very gassy, somewhat indigestion, and every now and then a little constipation."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have lost an average of 1.7 lbs a week since I started 14 weeks ago—or 25 lbs. The day or two after I go up a dose, I just drink juice because my stomach is upset. I might take an ondansetron. I have thrown up a few times but mostly it's just like indigestion and gag reflex more than a more intense sort of throwing up. It's hard—I'm not going to lie. I just stay in bed and eat pudding. I don't have energy to do anything. But I'm going to get through it. Only a few more months."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Mounjaro has helped me bring down my A1C. I'm only on a relatively low dose, but I am experiencing troubling side effects: stomach pain, indigestion, nausea, fatigue. I have the side effects mostly a day or two after the injection. I noticed a slight weight loss at first, but I think I gained the weight back somehow."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "It has worked, very positive results. No side effects after 11 weeks. I was on Saxenda and had many side effects, including episodes of gout, diarrhea, and indigestion (sulfur-tasting burps). I highly recommend it but caution folks to not rush increasing the dose (2.5 mg, then 5 mg, then 7.5 mg, etc. -- I took each dose for 4 weeks before increasing -- a friend skipped from 5 mg to 10 and became very ill). My only complaint is that it is very expensive for me because my insurance will not cover it for weight loss."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I did have many side effects to this medication at first. However, more recently, I have been experiencing fewer side effects. My A1C before taking Mounjaro was above a 10, and now my A1C is 6.3. I have lost 40 lbs and have a satisfied feeling after eating a small amount of food. My side effects at the beginning were rough: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, indigestion, stomach pain (by my liver and pancreas), excess gas/bloating, hypoglycemia, and sour stomach. I know that this is a bit of a list, however, I feel that it is worth it in the end. I work in a hospital and have seen the outcome of having long-term effects of diabetes, it is not pretty. So, if I have to suffer a little bit to try and prevent long-term effects, then I will. The main effects that I have now, after about a year or more of treatment, are diarrhea, sour stomach, and some gas/bloating. I am currently on the 7.5mg once a week and have been good on this strength for a while."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started Nov 12 and am down 27 pounds. I have been on 5 mg for 16 weeks due to a shortage of 7.5 mg, so weight loss has slowed down considerably, but I am not gaining! Very sick the first week with nausea and one night of vomiting and diarrhea, but after that, only indigestion at night and occasionally like the next day after the injection! Pleased with the outcome so far! Disappointed with not moving up due to a shortage of 7.5 mg."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "It was a lot easier on me than Ozempic, from an indigestion and nausea perspective. Seemed to help me build muscle better than Ozempic while losing the fat. Still only lost about 8-10 lbs with about 20 to go. Super, super expensive compared to Ozempic."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’ve been taking it for 10 days. First days, severe indigestion, tiredness, and virtually no appetite. Now, no indigestion, appetite returned, but not as much as before. Which is the goal, right? So far, I’ve dropped five to six pounds, most in the first few days. I weigh myself each Wednesday and Saturday. If the last two days’ weight loss turns out to be routine, I figure to drop about 2 lb. a week."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My A1c is now 5.1! My hunger, which used to be constant and persistent, is no longer an issue. I feel full and don't have cravings for food. I am admittedly a 'foodie' and used food for all situations, whether good or bad. In addition to controlling my diabetes and improving my A1c, Mounjaro (5mg) is helping me better manage my hunger and caloric intake. I have lost 60+ pounds, which has significantly improved my diabetes. I have gone from morbidly obese to obese on the BMI scale, and I feel confident that I can achieve my goal to finally reach a healthy weight with Mounjaro and my new lifestyle of healthy eating. I haven't experienced any significant negative side effects other than some indigestion, but I had reflux before, so I can't say that Mounjaro is at fault solely. The injections aren't painful and are very easy to self-administer. The once-a-week schedule is convenient, so managing my type 2 diabetes is a huge success with Mounjaro so far!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I began taking Mounjaro in November 2022. I am 61 years old, weigh 194.6 lbs, a post-menopausal female with no other health issues to note. Since then, I have lost approx. 50 lbs and feel absolutely GREAT! In addition to the Mounjaro, I took weekly B12 shots, a multivitamin, a magnesium supplement, apple cider vinegar capsules, and a chromium supplement. I took the last injection on May 2, 2023 (weighing 144.6 lbs) and have continued with supplements. After 1 month, I am weighing 146.4 lbs. I do find myself having cravings at times and could eat more, but have been able to discipline myself to continue to eat in moderation and try to be more active since I definitely feel more energetic. My goal is to maintain below 150 lbs. I am a huge fan of this drug and have experienced very few side effects while taking it. I did experience indigestion and some constipation relieved by the supplements listed above."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started Mounjaro at 5, then 7.5, 10, and currently 12.5. I have found that every single time I change my strength, I get horrible flu symptoms and a sulfur taste in my mouth. When I say flu-like symptoms, I mean the flu on crack! Sulfuric burps and indigestion, a constant nauseating flavor of rotten boiled egg in my mouth, explosive diarrhea to the point of just give me my pillow, I will prop it on the wall next to the toilet, I live here now. And don't be fooled thinking you got it all out, I promise you it never ends. Diarrhea around the clock, 30+ times a day for about 3-5 days if I take Imodium. My whole body has the chills, I am weak, body aches everywhere, but after it passes, it doesn't return until I change my dose. I have been able to lose 60 lbs in 4 months, probably because of getting so sick for a combined month of it. Still, I think it is a lifesaver and game changer. My glucose stays around 100 and my scale is finally moving in the right direction."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I experienced some nausea, had severe stomach pains at times, vomiting, indigestion, and terrible sulfur burps. The appetite suppression is amazing, as I felt like a normal person not feeling hungry all the time. After my 2nd shot and even worse side effects, I told my doctor I noticed my eyes had jaundice, so he told me to stop taking it. It did lower my blood sugar levels, and I'm so disappointed my body couldn't tolerate this medication, as it would have helped me lose weight."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am 5'9", 64 years old, and female. I weighed in at a high normal body weight, but my A1C was nearly 13. My doctor tried Metformin with fast and long-acting insulin and also Januvia, and my blood sugars were horribly unstable, dropping to 45 in the middle of the night and waking up over six hundred. I also have fatty liver disease with stage four cirrhosis. I've been on Mounjaro for eight weeks and lost 24 pounds, which still leaves me at the higher end of normal body weight, but my A1C fell to 7 after a month. I am on the 5 mg but wish I had stayed at 2.5 for a while, as the side effects like bloating, indigestion, and diarrhea have started again, and I don't really need a lot of weight loss. The fact that it breaks down fat in the liver and controls my diabetes is the best thing. The worst thing is the waves of nausea, fatigue, and dizzy spells I get in the first few days after taking it, but it's still worth it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Have been on Mounjaro 2.5 mg for 2 weeks. It's great for keeping my sugar level down and has reduced my appetite. With each injection, I've lost about 1 lb. My biggest concern is indigestion, gas, and bloating. After the injection for the first 4 days, it's bad, which keeps me from eating. My 3rd injection is due tonight and I'm not sure if I should take it. I take Protonix, taken Tums, and Mylanta, but none of it helps the indigestion. Will these symptoms go away?"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started on 2.5 mg 3 weeks ago. I’m 5’2” and starting weight was 175.4, my highest was 180. I decided to try medication after my waist was 39 inches. After my 3rd injection, I am now 165 and lost 3 inches off my waist. This is with minimal exercise and mostly appetite suppression. Bacon and eggs that I have eaten faithfully as part of an attempt at the keto diet, I just can’t eat. Food is unappealing. I’ve struggled 2x this week to reach 1200 calories. That has never happened to me before. Side effects: indigestion, fatigue. Hoping this continues to work with minimal adverse events. I’ve been gaining/losing the same 3-5 pounds since my daughter’s birth 5 years ago. This makes sticking to a meal plan so much easier. My binge eating during “shark week” had gotten out of control. I’d like to add my kettlebell training back, hoping I get some energy back."
