For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am starting my 3rd month on Mounjaro. I have been overweight/obese most of my adult life. I have lost some weight but not as much as I expected. I feel terrible - I suffer with exhaustion, constipation, indigestion, depression, and nausea. I just do not feel good. It has sucked the joy out of my life. I used to exercise much more when I was not taking Mounjaro. I don't want to do anything. I am wondering if it is worth it?"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Horrible experience taking this drug. I do not recommend taking this medication unless you want to die. I started taking 2.5 mg 6 days ago. Day 2 and 3 had no appetite and ate very little because the thought of food made me sick. Day 4 and 5 developed nausea, severe abdominal pain, and indigestion unrelieved by antacids. I also have lost five lbs because I am unable to eat or drink anything. I do not have any energy or feel like doing anything. Day 6 and I still feel sick. My fasting blood sugar this morning was 224 even though I am not eating or drinking hardly anything at all. It is noon, and I haven’t eaten anything because I’m afraid I will throw up. My heart rate is 120 and normally runs in the eighties. My doctor is out of the office this week for holidays. Just hoping and praying I don’t wind up in the emergency room. I will never inject this toxic stuff into my body again. I also read that it can cause thyroid cancer."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I'm only on my second week, but I've lost 7 pounds so far. It forces me to eat because if I don't, I feel sick, but when I eat, I get full super fast. So it's like it's forcing me to do good and not starve myself. I really like that. The first week I had slight nausea here and there and a couple of headaches. Also, a little indigestion. I do feel pretty tired. I've been eating a low-carb diet. I'm going to incorporate exercise at the end of this week. I can only imagine how much I have the potential to lose once I start exercising if I've lost 7 just by eating better. Overall, I am satisfied with this drug. I'm on the low dose right now."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Mounjaro has helped me bring down my A1C. I'm only on a relatively low dose, but I am experiencing troubling side effects: stomach pain, indigestion, nausea, fatigue. I have the side effects mostly a day or two after the injection. I noticed a slight weight loss at first, but I think I gained the weight back somehow."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started Nov 12 and am down 27 pounds. I have been on 5 mg for 16 weeks due to a shortage of 7.5 mg, so weight loss has slowed down considerably, but I am not gaining! Very sick the first week with nausea and one night of vomiting and diarrhea, but after that, only indigestion at night and occasionally like the next day after the injection! Pleased with the outcome so far! Disappointed with not moving up due to a shortage of 7.5 mg."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "It was a lot easier on me than Ozempic, from an indigestion and nausea perspective. Seemed to help me build muscle better than Ozempic while losing the fat. Still only lost about 8-10 lbs with about 20 to go. Super, super expensive compared to Ozempic."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I experienced some nausea, had severe stomach pains at times, vomiting, indigestion, and terrible sulfur burps. The appetite suppression is amazing, as I felt like a normal person not feeling hungry all the time. After my 2nd shot and even worse side effects, I told my doctor I noticed my eyes had jaundice, so he told me to stop taking it. It did lower my blood sugar levels, and I'm so disappointed my body couldn't tolerate this medication, as it would have helped me lose weight."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am 5'9", 64 years old, and female. I weighed in at a high normal body weight, but my A1C was nearly 13. My doctor tried Metformin with fast and long-acting insulin and also Januvia, and my blood sugars were horribly unstable, dropping to 45 in the middle of the night and waking up over six hundred. I also have fatty liver disease with stage four cirrhosis. I've been on Mounjaro for eight weeks and lost 24 pounds, which still leaves me at the higher end of normal body weight, but my A1C fell to 7 after a month. I am on the 5 mg but wish I had stayed at 2.5 for a while, as the side effects like bloating, indigestion, and diarrhea have started again, and I don't really need a lot of weight loss. The fact that it breaks down fat in the liver and controls my diabetes is the best thing. The worst thing is the waves of nausea, fatigue, and dizzy spells I get in the first few days after taking it, but it's still worth it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started late January 2025, 3-month supply. I am still using this medication. I have experienced indigestion for about 3 days after injection. The first 3 months had 1 defective injection pen with a bent needle, so I am really short 1 injection. I have continued to experience really severe bile indigestion, that if I accidentally burp and it comes up, if I don't immediately have a drink (water) beside me at hand, it turns into a very bad choking moment that can go on for quite some time. I am still waiting for appetite suppression and hoping for some weight loss. To be clear, I am still using Mounjaro hoping my body will adjust and the nausea goes away and I can lower my A1C and lose some weight and I get better."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started with 2.5 mg in January, which went very well. Then up to 5 mg. That was going great for 10 weeks. Then everything went downhill. Had a reaction of severe indigestion, nausea, diarrhea, backache, and overall body just not good. Took anti-nausea medicine, did not get rid of the nausea. Called an ambulance, after discussion, decided to wait since ER would not be able to administer more anti-nausea medication. Stayed in bed (I never do that), after 12 hours of pure hell, finally feeling better. Still feel like my body has been beaten up for 12 hours. It will take a day to fully recover. While the medicine does work, I’ve lost 13 lbs and my blood sugar stayed steady. This experience has me questioning whether it is worth losing a day every week in bed. The late reaction after 10 weeks has me more concerned. I will have to give this some serious consideration in my decision."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Mounjaro on 9/1. This resulted in the very worst month of my life. WEEK ONE - Super Nauseous, indigestion, stomach pain for 3-4 days of the first week. My appetite went from a 10 to a 2 (which was good). WEEK TWO - I had diarrhea for 3-4 days, along with sulfur belches, nausea, stomach pain. I ended up having to take sick days and go get an IV bag to recover from the dehydration. WEEK THREE - World-class nausea and vomiting. 3 days of vomiting so hard that I ruptured my esophagus. The entire month, if I was not having diarrhea, I was VERY constipated. I lost 9 lbs in one month, but I don't know if it was because I could barely eat due to the sickness. PASS!!"
