For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Mounjaro for 5 months and have lost around 36 pounds so far. I was placed on it because I had high liver counts, steatosis, and pre-diabetes and was unable to exercise due to a severe case of plantar fasciitis and back and neck injuries. I started on the lowest dose and raised it to 5mg a month later, and due to a national shortage of 7.5mg, remained on the 5mg. I lost 11 pounds the first month and around 5 to 8 pounds each month after that. I feel good and have a little more energy. As far as side effects, I have had a little constipation and indigestion at times. But as long as I drank 8 to 11 cups of water a day and didn't eat high-fat fried food or sugar/sweet things, I do well. I have no complaints other than not being able to get the higher dosage because the weight loss has slowed down. Easy to inject myself also."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Awesome medication. Great at lowering my daily sugar levels. Definitely controls hunger cravings. Lost the 20 lbs in weight that seemed would never come off working out. 10 mg is the dosage. Experienced side effects - 'indigestion.' Kind of weird in that I produce an incredible amount of gas the second night of taking the medication. Clears up by morning."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was diagnosed with T2D in June 2023 and prescribed Mounjaro along with Metformin and Jardiance. Mounjaro is a game-changer, my A1C is at goal and I’ve lost 90 pounds in 10 months. I stopped using my BiPAP machine and stopped 2 blood pressure meds. Side effects are constipation, insomnia, and indigestion, but results are worth it. The injections are easy to administer and painless."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started late January 2025, 3-month supply. I am still using this medication. I have experienced indigestion for about 3 days after injection. The first 3 months had 1 defective injection pen with a bent needle, so I am really short 1 injection. I have continued to experience really severe bile indigestion, that if I accidentally burp and it comes up, if I don't immediately have a drink (water) beside me at hand, it turns into a very bad choking moment that can go on for quite some time. I am still waiting for appetite suppression and hoping for some weight loss. To be clear, I am still using Mounjaro hoping my body will adjust and the nausea goes away and I can lower my A1C and lose some weight and I get better."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Began in March 2023. I have very little appetite and eat but experience lots of shakiness. At first, it caused severe belching and indigestion, especially in my upper mid/right back, but it has gone away, shakiness has increased. I still feel fatigued, hoping that will go away!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Severe indigestion when starting to eat or drink, therefore, some days unable to eat or drink anything. After about an hour, the symptoms wear off until I try to eat or drink again. I took this for 4 weeks with no improvement, have now been taken off it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started with 2.5 mg in January, which went very well. Then up to 5 mg. That was going great for 10 weeks. Then everything went downhill. Had a reaction of severe indigestion, nausea, diarrhea, backache, and overall body just not good. Took anti-nausea medicine, did not get rid of the nausea. Called an ambulance, after discussion, decided to wait since ER would not be able to administer more anti-nausea medication. Stayed in bed (I never do that), after 12 hours of pure hell, finally feeling better. Still feel like my body has been beaten up for 12 hours. It will take a day to fully recover. While the medicine does work, I’ve lost 13 lbs and my blood sugar stayed steady. This experience has me questioning whether it is worth losing a day every week in bed. The late reaction after 10 weeks has me more concerned. I will have to give this some serious consideration in my decision."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Benefits: * blood sugars are down to normal ranges. * I have lost about 12 lbs since I started using the drug a month ago. Cons: * Fatigue that lasts for days, which has impacted my ability to focus on my job. * Diarrhea (severe) 2 days after the first injection and then up from 2.5 to 5 mg. * Acid indigestion and acid reflux from the slowed movement of food into the small intestine. * Burping * Noticeable feeling of fullness and ZERO interest in food. I'm not sure how this drug really works, but starvation is not the way to lose weight. * Potential gastroparesis. Drugs.com needs a Maybe or It depends on whether I would recommend this drug. I don't like the side effects. I think 2.5 mg is the place to be for me. 5 mg causes too many of the latter bad side effects. Based on that, I would say NO to 5 mg, Yes to 2.5 mg."
