"My doctor put me on Mounjaro for potential type 2 diabetes. Just after one month of taking it, I have been living through the 3rd week of taking 2.5g. For the past 2 weeks, dizziness, severe shaking and trembling, my throat swelling so much that I am having trouble swallowing and having a sip of water. I have stopped taking it and cannot wait for this mess to get out of my system and be normal again. I did not have any of these issues prior. I did lose 12 lbs, but it's definitely not worth choking."

"I have been taking Mounjaro for 11 weeks. My A1C has gone down. My sugars are down also. I have lost about 20 lbs. I am almost never hungry on Mounjaro. When I am hungry, I fill up fast. Ozempic, which I used for years, does not compare to this at all. I pay $25.00 for 12 syringes in each prescription. This is the perfect weight loss drug for people who need to lose weight."

"Tracked daily side effects weekly for several weeks. Had the injection on Sunday. The cycle was repeated each week. If taken in the morning, I was unable to sleep that night. Changed to 2 hours before bed and slept, but woke up feeling exhausted. Developed headache/migraine and mind fog by mid-morning, with neck pain and stiffness. Fatigue, neck pain, mind fog, and migraine came in waves and lasted until late Wednesday. I began to feel better by Thursday and back to 'normal' by Friday. Only small impact on blood sugar numbers. Frequently hungry and craved carbs. No weight loss."

"Mounjaro works! My blood sugar was off the charts. The first week I started taking Mounjaro, my blood sugar was within normal limits. I don’t remember the last time it was normal. Very little side effects the first week. No side effects second week to date. Taking my 8th dose tonight. And lost 7 pounds."

"I started the medication in November of last year. I started with 5 mg and incrementally increased the dosage up to 15 mg. The small hypodermic needle made it easy to inject. At 10 mg, I reached a plateau with the weight loss. I eventually went up to 15 mg and stayed on that dose for 2 months. The primary reason for taking it was for type 2 diabetes, and I benefited from weight loss as I was also overweight. As of today, I have lost 35 lbs but stopped the Mounjaro about a month ago. My appetite seemed to slowly get back to normal, which is not a good thing. I also did intermittent fasting, so that helped a lot with the cravings, etc. I also get some bouts of constipation, but my diet made up for that. My urine smelled different. I pray there were no effects on my kidneys. My blood sugars are normal. My A1C is 5.2, so I chose to stop the medication and continue the weight loss journey naturally."

"I have been on Mounjaro since Nov 2024. Just turned 60, and I have lost 25 lbs. I am a type 2 diabetic plus suffering from other health problems. Didn’t have too bad of side effects like most people have commented. Started 10 mg this week. I started at about 199 lbs, now weigh in at 175. My goal is 155 to 160. Lab work in another week with yearly physical. Hoping all numbers go down with those too!!"

"For the first time in my life, I am not hungry all the time. I can walk by a bakery and not have to go inside. I can eat one cookie and be satisfied. The only downside is the lack of motivation to do anything. There have been no sexual side effects except for lack of desire."

"Rx for weight loss, extreme fatigue for the first 3 days after injection (I stayed in bed). I thought it was good for controlling binge eating. However, I eventually started to get so dizzy after standing up that I had to hold the counters and walls to get around for the first few minutes after standing. I also started to notice a thickness or knot in my throat after the first 2 months. I had to stop taking it because no amount of weight loss is worse than being a cancer patient or bedbound. The weight loss was extremely slow for me too. I went from being on no meds to relying daily on heartburn medicine, Miralax, Tylenol, and ginger chews for nausea. And the price was ridiculous. I would have rather bought some cosmetic surgery. I was on it 5 months: 2.5, then 0.5, finally 7.5 mg."

"In the beginning, I didn't even feel different, and then I stepped on the scale and was down 15 lbs after week 3. I noticed my clothes were getting bigger and bigger, and now I am down 80 lbs and on a 7.5 dose. I have had a lifelong journey with uncontrollable appetite issues, and this medication greatly curbs them. It did not happen overnight though, so be patient. If you eat a lot of cruciferous veggies, you are going to be extremely gassy. If you eat too much or eat things that are hard to digest, it is going to be harder to tolerate this medication. I have not been under 200 lbs in 20+ years, so this has been a blessing. My blood sugars are in check, and I have more energy. It is at times difficult to navigate what to eat that will not upset your stomach. Just watch what you eat and figure out what feels good to your tummy. Your body will do better with it if you do eat some proteins every now and then instead of a lot of carbs."

"I have been on Mounjaro for about 1 1/2 years. I have lost 135 lbs and down to 170! Never had any side effects. My A1C was a 7.8, and only 3 months after taking it, I was a 5.7!! Now I am at 5.1! In my case, I have always been addicted to food, and all my life never could stop thinking about it. For the first time in my life, I can eat lunch like a normal person and stop eating and not obsess over eating! I think it has changed my brain like no other therapy has."

"I started taking Mounjaro 2.5 mg in March of this year (2024). Every month, my doctor increased my dose to the next level. I was put on the medication to help with my A1C because it would go up and down but not at a normal number. After 3 months, it went from a 7 to 4.5. I was so happy with the result. I am currently on 15 mg and I am down 50 lbs (over 6 months) and A1C is staying at 4.5. My original goal was 30 lbs by September and 60 by next March. I am so excited that I am already close to my year weight goal loss. The only side effects that I have had were the sulfur burps, which I figured out how to control and prevent and stop. And occasional constipation, which I just increased fiber intake to help. Everyone's experience is different. I went into taking it and researching all the side effects and being careful. I am thankful to my doctor for helping me, and I am happy with the results so far."

"My question is if a medication such as Mounjaro helps and works and allows a patient to live an almost normal life but cannot afford to pay for it, how come Eli Lilly is so adamant about helping a senior on Medicare to pay for this medication. How about offering a reasonable discount so that I can continue buying it so I do not face hypo no hyperglycemia? Is my health not worth it vs. the CEO and the rest of the top management to get their big bonuses? Really! Patients need help, please. Medicare patients are not allowed to use savings cards, only commercial medical insurance. Please think about this issue and help us to live a better and decent life. I am not obese, nor do I need it for weight loss. I need it to maintain my health. Thank you in advance should you find it in your heart to help me with my costs. I was diagnosed with CKD, and after I started using Mounjaro, my kidneys numbers went up significantly so did my diabetes being more manageable. Thank you again."

"Once I started taking this product, I was able to get off Metformin and insulin. My sugar was never high during the time on Mounjaro, and I lost 30 pounds and felt great! There are side effects with a few stomach issues, but they are short-lived."

"I've been on Mounjaro for about 6 months now. I'm taking it for type 2 diabetes, and I needed to lose some weight also. At first, I had no side effects at all. However, in the past month, I've started going through quite a few. I'm currently on 7.5mg, and this is where my effects started. My appetite has gone from healthy to almost nonexistent, I'm always nauseous and now have low blood pressure. The good thing about it is that my A1c has drastically dropped from 11.9 to 6.5, which is really great. I'm getting blood glucose readings under 110, and before I started this medicine, I couldn't get my glucose under 280 on a good day. I'm currently seeing an endocrinologist and also a nutritionist who is awesome. My doctor says 7.5mg might be where I need to stay for a while, especially until my stomach adjusts to it. I wish it would hurry because I believe that Mounjaro is the best thing that was ever prescribed for me. I was previously on Bydurion (B-cise) for over 2 years, and it didn't help."

"My experience has been very good. I took drastic steps to change eating habits, cutting carbs where possible. Rather than eating chips at home, I go through 6 lbs of carrots per week. I divorced French fries. Aside from that, I still eat what I want when dining out. Dropped from 330 lbs to 262 lbs in 8 months. No side effects aside from constipation - daily fiber and stool softeners make that manageable. I feel that part of the weight loss was simply the change in diet, but the Mounjaro certainly helped. I'm on the 2.5 dosage."

"I was put on Mounjaro 4 weeks ago (for type 2 diabetes), and the 3rd week, the once-a-week injection pen didn't work. The internal mechanics seized up, and I didn't get any medicine. I called Mounjaro support and spoke with Belinda and went through a series of questions and gave her my pharmacy information, was on hold and also speaking with Belinda for over one hour and 15 minutes. It is 3 days later, and my pharmacy still did not receive a call for a replacement from Belinda. This is a horrible product and even worse customer service."

"If anything, I would call Mounjaro a wonder drug. In Jan 2023, I weighed just over 300 pounds and my A1C was hovering around 7 with Ozempic and Metformin. My Dr. prescribed Mounjaro and within a few weeks, I started seeing a marked change. Now, 9 months later, I have lost 108 pounds and my last A1C was 5.0. I have had no noticeable side effects and it couldn't be easier to use. The only problem has been getting it. More than once, I've had to wait a few days for it to come back in stock at the pharmacy. I'm sleeping better, have more energy and overall, feeling healthier. My Dr. has even reduced the dosages on several of my other medications and may be able to take me off some of them soon."

"I was diagnosed prediabetic. After 13 months of easy-to-use injections, better eating habits and being more active, I lost over 100 lbs. (355 to 255). I now feel much better and younger every day at age 71. Also had very few side effects so far. Very pleased and am continuing on 15 mg dosage."

"56-year-old male here, 5'10". Started Mounjaro on 10/28/23, weighing 291 pounds. Started at 2.5mg for 4 weeks, will be on 5.0mg for another 5 weeks before upping to 7.5mg. The only real side effect has been constipation. I just had my yearly physical yesterday. Lost 40 pounds in 6.5 weeks. Blood work came back amazing. A1C was finally under 7.0. Discontinuing metformin, reducing Lipitor. Mounjaro is life-saving."

"I started at a very heavy weight, 260. I am now 188. The one thing I hate is the hair loss! That wasn’t a side effect. I still inject it, but I wish Lilly would explain how to not lose my hair. I’ve taken it for about two years, and I may take a break soon to see what happens. My A1C is great."

"I have type 2 diabetes and need this medication, so my doctor prescribed it. However, my insurance company denied me. If I want to take it, it is $1,300.00 for a one-month supply. How sad this world has become that instead of the pharmaceutical companies helping us to get better, they prefer to keep us sick. I am so disappointed."

"I lost over 40 lbs and leveled off at an ideal weight. Best of all, my A1c dropped to a non-diabetic level. My ophthalmologist has said there is now no sign of diabetes in my eyes. I have been able to reduce the meds I was taking. I am much more active because I weigh so much less and feel better. I followed the advice in the enclosure for the drug and ate small meals several times a day rather than large meals. I have not had trouble with side effects. I hope that the cost is reduced so that more people can afford it. Its biggest downside is the expense."

"Started on 2.5 mg in December and have titrated up every 4 weeks to 12.5 mg currently. So far I have been losing 2-3 lbs a week and have lost 34 lb, and up until now I haven't really noted any serious side effects other than occasional constipation and slight nausea if I don't eat something small every few hours, or if I eat something really fatty. The last two titrations I have noticed some extreme fatigue and being cold on the first day after my shot, but then it usually starts to go away on the 2nd day and I feel better. I have also noticed that if I try to push through the tiredness and try exercising, I usually feel better. I have tried to stick to a 1200-1500 calorie diet and do eat a lot more fruits and veggies, and I feel better than I have in a long time. Overall, it’s been a good experience and I’m super excited to see how much more weight I can lose."

"Like many people, you are nervous about trying something new. I have had Type 2 Diabetes for 25 years. Nothing wrong with taking something that can help you out. This drug trains you to eat the right food. You need to remember, for us, too much sugar is our enemy. Don't think this is a miracle drug, I can eat anything. Do your part, try to eat healthy, this has helped me big time. My sugar was 180 to 190. Now it's at 95-110, the food noise and cravings are way down. The first 2 weeks you feel nasty until your body adjusts to it. But after that, you will feel better. I'm happy I started using it. A shot that can help you live a better quality of life or not doing anything about it and letting Type 2 Diabetes take your life slowly, you pick? Talk to your doctor about it."

"I started on Mounjaro last May 2024, weighing 303 lbs. By December 2024, I lost down to 190 lbs. with my A1C at 6, and my glucose is 100, down from 286 in May 2024! Mounjaro is wonderful for me! I had nausea at first, but dosage of 15, no nausea whatsoever. I’ve had to buy all new clothes, and I love it!"
