Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used it before bed and woke up in the middle of the night sobbing due to terrible itching and burning that was worse than the yeast infection itself. I cried myself back to sleep because literally nothing, the cream, the wipes, nothing would help. The next morning I immediately felt the difference and could tell that the yeast infection was gone. Although I've never felt anything worse than the feeling it gave me that night, I'd definitely recommend it and use it again myself if ever needed. It literally hurt like hell, but it definitely got rid of the infection overnight."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Alright, ladies. I seriously suggest doing your research before using this product. My mother has used this product with no problems in the past, so when I got my first yeast infection this week, she had no reservations about getting this medication for me. Unfortunately, I had to go to Urgent Care two days later, due to severe swelling and pain. The doctor knew immediately that I had taken Monistat and said that it is common that this product makes the infection much worse. So I guess if you feel like flipping a coin on whether or not you want a swollen vagina, by all means, go ahead. Instead, I suggest you go to an Urgent Care center. The bill will not be ridiculous, and the prescription cost me $8 at Walmart. Best of luck."

After maybe two hours of being awake, the fire came in. I didn't have any itching, but for the WHOLE day, my vagina was ON FIRE. It really works. No way an infection can survive. My boyfriend, being the wonderful guy he is, went to the store and got me Monistat 1. I figured, like everyone else, that it would work faster than the 3-day treatment that I used last time. I inserted the egg just before bed and slept through the night. When I woke the next morning, the pain was almost unbearable. I tried taking a bath, blasting it with the water and ice packs, but it just kept getting worse. Before bed the following day, I looked... bad idea, my vag looked like a crime scene. There are open sores, and it's very swollen, it almost looks like it was dipped in acid. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!! NOT WORTH IT!!!!!"

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I usually do the 3-day Monistat, but grabbed the Monistat 1-day this time. NEVER AGAIN!!! Do NOT use this product. I fully support removing this product. I'm super sick from the flu. I went to the doctor and was put on antibiotics. So I was smart and just picked up the Monistat when I picked my antibiotics. I had woken up uncomfortable and knew it was time to use the Monistat. That night, right before bed, I used said product. As soon as I used it, it started to burn. By morning, everywhere on my body it had touched, I developed chemical burns. Went straight to the ER because of the pain and swelling. I was unable to urinate or defecate because of the swelling. I was completely swollen, crack to crack, and red swelling down the inside of my legs!!!"

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I mistakenly bought the prefilled applicator, usually, I buy the 7-day cream, but after realizing my purchase mistake, I figured, why not go ahead and use it. I had a YI that was in the beginning stages, after I used the prefilled applicator, my vag was on fire and super itchy! I literally felt like someone got a funnel, put gasoline and cayenne pepper in my vag, and lit a match. My tolerance for pain and discomfort is super high. Anyway, it did get rid of my YI for sure after that night of torture. The pain lasted 3-4 hours. I won't buy this product again unless my YI is super severe."

Took the medicine and a few minutes later I thought my vagina was on fire! I had had a yeast infection before that and bought the CVS brand medicine, and it was great. Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ok, decided I had a yeast infection, so I went to the store to avoid going to the doctor. Found Monistat 1 and was pleased that there was such a thing to make it go away fast. I inserted the egg at about 11:30 pm last night and felt completely fine. At about 4:30 this morning, I started to feel some discomfort, so I went to the bathroom. I sat on the toilet for about 20 minutes in horrible pain, itching and itching. I came back to bed thinking it would just go away. Nope. I'm laying here in such pain, it's 5:30 AM and I have a heating pad in my crotch. I would never recommend this to someone, and I am suffering. Usually I read reviews, but I didn't this time and wow am I regretting it. Do yourself a favor and don't get this stuff."

The discomfort I felt before I took this does not compare to the pain I felt after I inserted it into the vagina. It felt like somebody spread my legs apart and poured lava into my cervix! I would never wish this pain onto anybody, much less my worst enemy. One time is an accident, multiple complaints about the pain and burning from this Monistat 1. I am surprised that they haven't been sued. This should be pulled from shelves! Just go to the doctor and get some cream. Just say heck no to this egg. I should have read reviews beforehand. So, being the weekend and not wanting to wait until Monday, I decided to try the Monistat 1 anyway. Because so many people complained of severe pain, cramping, and burning, I took a Tramadol, put the ovule in, and went to bed. Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I read a lot of scary reviews before I went out and bought the overnight anyway... Either those reviews are exaggerated extremely, or I got lucky. The burning was pretty minimal, you have to also consider the medicine is doing a job in one night instead of seven... So there will be itching and burning. It's about twenty hours into treatment, and it itches a little, but when you get a yeast infection, it causes little tiny cuts on the inside. This is why it itches and burns a bit! All in all, it seems to be doing its job, and the pain is not horrendous (for me anyway). If you start experiencing pain or swelling, try Benadryl or ibuprofen respectively!!"

That being said, given how many people have such extreme reviews, I am shocked there isn’t a warning on the label. I put the suppository in and cream on, and experienced intense burning. I wiped the cream off and went to bed. I woke up hours later to molten lava trying to escape my body. I tried itching, I sobbed and didn’t itch, I put cold water on it, then tried to wash out the product. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT. You will learn how fire inside you feels. I wanted to go to the ER and was in immense pain, and I have a high pain tolerance. I was thinking of driving to a 24-hour clinic but was literally unsure I could drive. IT’S WORTH THE DOCTOR VISIT. It may work for you, or you may find yourself part of this 85% of us who have been through the hot lava club."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've used Monistat 3 before, and it worked really well! This time I opted for Monistat 1 and was VERY disappointed. Shortly after inserting the pill, I began to experience what I can only describe as the worst burning itching pain of my life. The pain eventually went away but has been coming on in spurts, and it has been 3 days since I began the treatment. I do not recommend the one-day treatment, but for me, the 3-day worked very well."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am 18 and have had several yeast infections before. I first used this product a couple of years ago. I, too, had the same horrible side effects from this drug you are reading about right now. I took it before I went to bed, and at around 3 a.m., I swore I would never willingly insert that evil egg in my body again. I cannot describe the pain. However, my symptoms were practically cured the next morning. In a few days, my YI was completely cured. Several months later, I got another YI. Not remembering the promise I made to myself about the evil egg, I purchased more Monistat 1. Surprisingly, I did not experience the horrible side effects again. I have used it another time and had no side effects. I recommend it for women who have frequent YIs."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Terrible product. I inserted the egg before going into work and had the worst shift of my life. I didn't experience any burning, but the itching has been unbearable. Couldn't sleep comfortably. Used a showerhead to try to soothe, and still no difference. Made my vagina so sore I could barely sit down. Would not recommend this product. A 7-day cream is much more comfortable."
