Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had a mild YI, and it wasn't bothering me a lot, but I wanted 100% relief. My mom suggested I use the Monistat 1, and I agreed. Around noon, I showered and inserted the little egg, and immediately my itching became worse! I looked up the reviews after this and was terrified. I hopped back in the shower just for soothing relief, and it was still irritating, and I even used the itch relief cream, which was pointless. I was miserable until I ended up grabbing an ice cube and putting it down there, and my gosh, the relief was amazing! I iced for about 3 hours because the itch would not go away. I'm now on hour 4 and feel no itch, just a warm sensation that is bearable. Take at night! Walking is not an option when the itch comes!"

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "If you are someone who can't stand the feeling of burning, irritation, and itching, then this product ISN'T FOR YOU. I should have used some common sense when I read Monistat 1 Day 'MAXIMUM STRENGTH' on the box. I was up all night cleaning/wiping the white glue-looking discharge with baby wipes and toilet paper. It was the only thing that helped relieve the horrible side effects. My parents always warned me that good things never happen when you try to take the short and easy road. I've been up since about 1 a.m., and now it's a little past 5 a.m. I have to get up at 6:30 a.m. for my first day of school. Yay me...."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I went to the doctor and was told I had a yeast infection. They gave me a 7-day treatment, it went away, but symptoms came back 2 weeks later. I was so irritated that I came and bought Vagistat 1-day treatment tonight, couldn’t wait until tomorrow to see a doctor. I literally just inserted it, and I feel relief already, no burning or irritation."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "At first, it feels like it's not working and you feel like you have no hope, but I promise it works well, at least it did for me. Personally, I didn’t really feel the progress until nighttime, and then you can really tell it’s working, and I’m on night 2 and I feel a drastic change in itching and burning. The cream also helped a lot with healing soreness and irritation!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm unsure as of yet whether this horrid medicine has helped or will help, but I wanted to add to the numerous warnings from others like me. If you're reading this before buying, DON'T DO IT! The discomfort and irritation from the infection is a cakewalk compared to what you will feel after inserting this into your most delicate of places. The pain and burning were so intense that I'm quite certain the inner walls of my vagina were melted through. Never in a million years would I have imagined that I would contemplate stuffing my hoo-ha full of ice. Please, heed these warnings, it's not worth it! And if you're one of the poor souls desperately trying to determine how long your torment may last, unfortunately several hours. Good luck!"

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "This medication is a painful experience. I took it last night to care for a mild yeast infection. After waking, I found that my symptoms intensified and new ones occurred. The medication caused me to experience vaginal discharge that irritated my vagina even more. I became swollen and red, and it started to burn when I urinate. I made a doc appointment and received oral medication to help the infection. My doc informed me that the reason Monistat 1 is so painful for so many women is due to the high levels of medicine within the 1 dose. The medication also irritates the skin so much that it causes the swelling, redness, and burn. She said that the 5 or 7 is much better...or paying a visit with the doc for some med."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am in my twenties and am currently battling my second yeast infection. For my first one, I used the Monistat 1 ovule with great success. Immediate relief of symptoms, and full treatment overnight. So, when I got my second yeast infection, I used the same treatment. Immediately after inserting the ovule and using the cream, I felt the irritation and itching begin to intensify. Less than 30 minutes later, I was sitting in the bathtub bawling and feeling like I could pull my hair out. I'm typically very tolerant to pain and have never had any type of reaction to ANY kind of medication. Next time, I will DEFINITELY be calling my doctor for the oral pill. The pain is not worth the money you might save. Rated 5 because it DOES work, but it hurts."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had a similar reaction of burning and itching to those shared by others. I’m leaving this comment to share what worked for me to relieve the pain. I stood in the shower for about 15 minutes with the shower head rinsing it all out. I was still feeling irritated internally and remembered advice from my OBGYN when I was suffering from vaginal dryness after my kid was born. I grabbed a jar of organic unrefined coconut oil. Scooped out a clump (about almond-sized) and inserted it into my vagina as far as I could, and within 10 minutes, ALL of the pain and burning had subsided—ALL OF IT. It probably helped that the coconut oil was cool and very solid and I had only had the product inside of me for about 90 minutes. If you are reading this, rinse the product off IMMEDIATELY and apply coconut oil."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Never use this. I started to get the symptoms of a YI, so I bought the 1-day pre-filled one. It itches and burned, but I figured it was just the meds doing its thing. The next day wasn’t bad, just a little red. Now, 4 days later, I’ve missed 3 days of work and am in excruciating pain. My vagina is swollen, irritated, and has sores all over. No, it’s not an STD, as my doctor ran the test and it was negative. It is just a really bad reaction!!!"

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I inserted the maximum strength Monistat 1 last night, say 9:30. Slept fine. Had minor burning after my morning urination, but it went away 10-20 mins later. I was already swollen before using and aching, not much burning or itching. It's going on 6 am, and it seems to be doing what it is supposed to for me. And if you use the wet wipes to kind of keep the discharge/medication leakage wiped up as much as possible from the outside of your vag, it’d help. I think letting it pool and sit is what may be causing a lot of the irritation. There was a good bit of wet wipes in my kit along with some cream for the outside area."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ok I've used Monistat for the first time. Yes, it made me itch and burn, but the irritation subsided. I woke up at 4 in the morning, which is routine for me, I'm pregnant. The itching stopped. I can tell this stuff is really working once it starts leaking out during bathroom breaks, wipe away excess. Worth the discomfort. For all the pregnant ladies out there, it sucks but works."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had a YI probably in 2011, used Monistat 1 so it can be a quicker process and hated it. It came right out of me and burned like hell. I immediately showered to get it off me. But it still burned. So now, in 2015, I have a YI. I bought the same medication because I don't have time for a 3/7 day process. Already prepared myself for the worst. I had a rag waiting just in case it came out, even laid a towel down to sleep under me, but it didn't come out. I showered first and made sure I inserted it as far as possible. I slept through the night normally. And the best part, no irritation or burning. This time, I took the vaginal test first to see if it was a YI, and it was. Maybe that has a factor on it as well. But I am so pleased the second time around."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "It's been an hour since I inserted the cream, and yes, there is burning and irritation, but it's just the medicine doing its job. I'm assuming it will also leave me raw, but I figured that would happen when you use a high dose of cream in a sensitive place. I don't recommend doing the treatment at night, however, because I don't think I would be able to sleep. Some minutes are worse than others, but if you think about the positives of one day in discomfort to treat the infection versus a week or more not treating it, it's gotta make it worth it. If you can't handle pain or just the YI in general, I don't recommend this for you. If you got through a week or more of a YI, I believe you can get through this too."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have had a few YIs in the past and always used Monistat 7, but this time I felt a YI infection coming on. I tried to sit it out and just wait for it to go away on its own, but it was just too uncomfortable. So finally, on the third day, I went and got Monistat 1. I inserted it around 8 at night, and around 2 in the morning, I was up screaming at the top of my lungs, a few tears here and there. Didn't get any sleep till maybe 7 in the morning. The irritation calmed down, and swelling is going away. Also, I was so tired the next day. My body felt like I had been in a fight and couldn't go on anymore. Oh, and not to mention, even though the swelling went away, it burns when I pee. I recommend using Monistat 3 or 7."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Inserted the ovule last night around 11:30 pm. My first comment is...why did no one else on here think it was kind of hard to put in? BUT anyway, inserted last night, felt some itching the first few minutes that quickly went away, woke up this morning at 9:25 am and my only symptom is some very mild burning. It's too early to say if it cleared up, and I'm very sensitive, so I assumed I'd get some mild irritation, but so far so good. I'm glad I did this before reading the reviews because I would've psyched myself out."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm 16 weeks pregnant with a yeast infection due to antibiotics. I bought the Monistat 1 with an egg. Showered, inserted the egg, applied cream... Good hour it's been up there and I'm sitting on the toilet in tears!!! The infection wasn't even this uncomfortable! This is the worst! And the external cream burns now from the irritation. Lord help me, please!!!"

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used the generic Monistat 1 (tioconazole), and for the first few hours it was great-no burning, and I fell asleep quickly. A few hours later, I woke up absolutely dying. It burned so much, and my vulvar lips were so swollen (HUGE!), so red and visibly irritated. I had to use an ice pack to help decrease some of the pain. I left the ointment in because I figured I already suffered this much, I might as well let it do its job. By the time I woke up, though, the swelling had gone down considerably, no more burning, and my yeast infection felt 90% better (I'm still using the topical miconazole from a previous package to help with the mild residual itch). So even though it's a few hours of literal torture and you will lose sleep, it did work well."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Over the weekend, I was experiencing extreme itching and irritation down there, so I called my doctor as soon as they opened and told them my symptoms, and they recommended trying Monistat 3 before making an appointment. However, I wanted this to clear up as soon as possible, and I had to go to work and needed to use it during the day, so I bought the Monistat 1 ovule. This could be a result of me not placing the ovule as far in as it could go because I was in a rush and did not read the directions, but as soon as the egg started to melt, I felt an intense burning on my entire vagina (inside and out). Honestly, I can't say if this is good or bad because I didn't follow the instructions properly, but hopefully it will still work for me."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I get yeast infections every few months. There’s really no rhyme or reason for it other than my pH levels are sensitive, and it seems to run in the family. Two days ago, I woke up with one, so I called my GYN and left a message asking for her to fill an Rx of Diflucan. Because YIs are really annoying (as we all know) and I’m an impatient person, I decided to try using Monistat 1 in the meantime. I thought, what’s the harm? WELL, there was actually a lot of harm in using Monistat 1. It made my itching and irritation SO much worse. And not long after inserting it, it felt like I put a piece of hot coal in my vagina. The itching got progressively worse through the day. The following day, my YI is still there and the worst I’ve ever had. Normally, one dose of Diflucan treats my YIs with no problem, but after taking Monistat 1, I had to take two doses of Diflucan because the Monistat LITERALLY made the infection worse. Why is this OTC drug still on the market?"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "First time using it. I bought this product yesterday. Took a shower last night, inserted it, and laid down. I felt very minimal burn and irritation. I woke up the next day, didn’t really feel the symptoms anymore, but my vagina is white from where the cream was inserted to where you can tell the cream has spilled out on my labia, and etc., and I have red skin patches that look like my skin is cracking, literally, and my vagina is swollen. It hurts to walk. I am in pain, I could cry. Literally looks and feels like a chemical burn. I typically don’t do OTC creams, but my doctor's office was closed. I just want my vagina to look how it looked before today."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Omg, let me tell you, had I read the reviews before I inserted the meds, I would have taken it back to the store to get my money back. Had a little irritation due to soap and decided to get this because it was one day use, biggest mistake of my life. When I first put it in, it burned. Thought it would get better, but it didn’t. When I woke up, my lady parts were so swollen I couldn’t even see them, they hurt to touch. I will never buy this product again."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ok, so I felt irritation yesterday, but I was so sleepy I didn't feel like walking to the store (dumb car brakes went out). So this morning I showered and checked to see if, in fact, this was a YI coming on. So I had the strength to walk to the store, came home and inserted the ovule, then applied some cream at 7 a.m. I bought the Monistat 1 maximum strength cream and itch relief. Took a long, much-needed nap, and now at 1:05 p.m. I feel like wiping down below, but no more irritation, and the burning still has yet to come. Not my first time using it, I've never had a problem with this, and I always buy the same one. If you're burning and irritated to an extreme extent, then go to the ER. Don't put faith in your own hands, then blame medication when it could be you!"

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "After rounds of antibiotics, my body produced a yeast infection. The worst irritation I have ever experienced, my vagina was swollen, red, itchy, and stayed in constant pain. I purchased Vagisil to reduce the itch, however, that caused more inflammation and itch. Last night, after not being able to sleep, I woke up at 4 am and ran to my local 24-hour pharmacy to purchase Monistat. After viewing my options, I decided to purchase the 1-day combination due to the fact that my anniversary with my boyfriend is quickly approaching, and we are going on a romantic weekend getaway. Having a swollen, itchy lady part oozing discharge is the last thing I would want to happen. I took the Monistat, and it cleared right up :)"
