For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I was on Terbinafine for 3 months. It took 5.5 months to completely clear my toenail fungus. My fungus, which I got from banging my toe years ago, was an ugly dark green. I was afraid to take this drug due to side effects mentioned by other reviewers. My only side effects were a mild stomach ache maybe 3 days a week, but not bad, and my tinnitus increased a bit, but not bad. The doctor said they used to prescribe it for much longer, but now they only do 3 months. The fungal nail will keep growing out, and you'll be left with a healthy nail."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I'm only 8 days into this medication (doing the 10 on, 20 off, and repeat ×2). I've had ugly, funky fungi toenails since my late teens (about to turn 35 soon). They are awful, but I have always been too embarrassed to say anything to a doc about it. Well, here recently, I've been trying to better me, inside and out. Plus, I miss having my feet rubbed and going barefoot without having to worry about my toenails. So far, the only side effects I've really had have been stomach cramping on the first day, I'm much more tired than usual, my upper back seems to ache (but I work in a factory, so it could be unrelated), I've noticed I've gained a little weight, but not noticeable to anyone but me, and normally I have weird dreams, but this past week have been super strange (even for me)."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I have been taking terbinafine nearly 3 months now. I had a fungal infection in 3 toenails on one foot for over 20 years. I was worried about taking this medication, so I tried topical solutions and expensive laser treatment and podiatry solutions. All failed within a few weeks to sustain healthy nails. I had a liver test all clear at 6 weeks and no side effects apart from mild stomach ache very early on. The results are great, the big toe has new growth, about 50% of the nail has grown clear, and the 2 small nails are free of new fungus and growing out slowly. I have been told no more treatment is needed and just to wait for the complete regrowth to complete. I am so happy and looking forward to a pedicure in a few months' time. Wish I had done it years ago. I am applying Lamisil cream to the nails for prevention of new infection."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I'm a 19-year-old female, and I have been on this drug for mild toenail fungus for 3 days. I’m on a dose for only 45 days because of how mild the fungus is. I have already experienced nausea, rapid heartbeat, trouble sleeping, sore throat, headache, stomach cramping, diarrhea, and vaginal bleeding. I called my doctor and left a message at the nurses' station explaining my symptoms. Haven’t heard anything back, so I am going to stop taking this medication until they get back to me. I feel like this many side effects are not worth it. I don’t know what else to use. Not a good experience right away."

For Onychomycosis, Fingernail "Started taking the pills as recommended by the doctor about 2 months ago. The first week of taking them, I didn't really feel any side effects, but as time passed, I started getting stomach aches and feeling nauseous. After two months of taking them as recommended, I had to go to the emergency room for an anxiety attack, which then became discomfort in my chest, hard breathing, really bad anxiety, and cold sweats, feeling like I had a fever almost. Also another side effect was the dark urine and diarrhea. After leaving the emergency room, they told me that everything checked out, there were no issues other than the anxiety I was feeling. Honestly, it has gotten my nails better, but there are more natural ways of taking care of fungal infections on hand and nail, and way better for you. If I would have known that ahead of time, I would have never taken this medication in the first place."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I’ve suffered from embarrassing toenail fungus on 4 of my toes since my late teens. I didn’t get help for years out of shame, and it got SO bad that I finally went to my Dr. She put me on a 12-week course of taking terbinafine daily, and after a few days, I noticed a lot of stomach upset that lasted the entirety of the twelve weeks without ever getting more tolerable, as well as weight gain and stomach bloating that was constant. After the 12 weeks were up, I noticed a bit of healthy nail growing up from the nail bed of my big toenail (which had the worst fungus). It’s now been about 2 months since I stopped the medication, and my big toenail has grown in almost completely normally! My other 3 nails are still infected, however, they don’t show signs of clearing up. Overall, I would recommend this if you can tolerate the side effects, but I will not be doing another course because of the uncomfortable bloating and weight gain."

Terbinafine for Onychomycosis, Toenail "I took 250 mg Lamisil for 5 weeks! I quit after 5 weeks due to having an altered taste! My mouth tastes like salt and food tastes like dirt! Horrible! I have read a lot of forums, and people are saying the experiences are the same, side effects which were lasting 6-8 weeks after discontinuing the pills! I haven’t eaten much at all, and my stomach is always upset due to the salty saliva!"
