For Atopic Dermatitis "I've had eczema for my entire life, but it started getting really bad around my eyes in the last year. It was super dry and flaky, and nothing seemed to work. I tried tacrolimus, and the first night I put it on, it burned and itched so bad. When I woke up the next morning, it was still mildly burning, but after two more uses, all symptoms stopped and my eczema began to clear. My face was clear within 5 uses, but I continue to use it every night. This ointment isn't any gooier than steroid creams I have been prescribed, and it actually works."

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "Burning sensation worsened over about 5 days of use. None the first time, then a bit after application, and now a severe delayed reaction (the next day, so I can't just wash it off), nearly constant, and worsened with water. Feels like exposure to jalapenos on sensitive skin, like near the eyes. Hasn't had any effect on my eczema yet either. Can't stick it out to see if it gets better."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have suffered like many others for years with rubbish skin. Had every steroid under the sun but wanted to try and stop the problem from happening in the first place. I was prescribed Protopic. Yes, at first it burns like hell, but that to me is it working, and I suffer it. As I continue to use it, this burning doesn't happen, and it has left me with lovely skin. I have found, however, that I did not apply on the Thursday and had some alcohol on the Friday, thinking the cream would be out of my system, but definitely not! My face became very flushed when I started drinking, but then calmed down. My eyelids and the area around the eye were completely swollen the following morning and have just got worse.... will need to monitor this."

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "Don't bother with Protopic. It works wonders, but you can only use it for 6 weeks. This is what I do, and it works. Overactive immune system, vitamin deficiency, triggers, stress, food allergies. Before food, 3 times a day: vitamin D spray (2000 IU) per spray, 6 sprays a day (12000 IU), lower when symptoms improve to (6000 IU) daily. CBD full spectrum spray, 6 sprays a day (800 mg). MCT oil as a base (normal function of immune system). Multivitamins. Dead Sea salt bath, shower off salt water after bath."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I think I was suffering from topical steroid withdrawal and tried to get off of them once my skin was dry, red, and flaky. I thought I was out of options until I remembered the Protopic generic, tacrolimus. I asked my doctor about it, and she was able to prescribe it to me. So far, it's cleared up my skin, although I do have red skin on my thighs. I get itchy and keep causing more eczema or sores due to scratching, and I'm unaware of the allergens causing it. It does burn, and I'm odd, I think it feels good sometimes, especially in the winter. I recommend it for eczema sufferers because I've used it in the past, and it's worked, and as an adult now, it's working again for me. Topical steroids have failed me."

For Perioral Dermatitis "About a year ago, I developed a white patch close to my mouth (vitiligo) about 1 cm in diameter. I ignored it for a few months hoping that it would go away, but then I went on holiday to the beach, and the strong sun made it bigger and more evident. Moreover, three additional spots appeared on my chin. When I got back, I went to a dermatologist who said it was vitiligo and prescribed Protopic 0.1 (tacrolimus), and within a month the first large spot had gone. I still have the little spots on my chin, but they are getting smaller (it has been 3 months now, but I am still hopeful). If you have vitiligo on your face and it's not widespread, it may work for you too, but do consult a doctor since the drug is not officially recognized as a cure for vitiligo."

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "I had a rash caused by insect bites, so the doctor gave me Protopic. He said it would get rid of the rash. I had tried everything: calamine lotion, baking soda, tea tree gel with vitamin E, lavender, rosemary oil, and witch hazel. Well, nothing got rid of the rash, also, my skin cannot handle hydrocortisone cream, and I cannot take Benadryl. So I got the Protopic and antibiotics. Yes, it cleared it away brilliantly, however, the doctor told me to use it twice a day, incorrect dosage. Did not warn me of evil side effects. My skin became a mess as soon as I stopped using it, remembering the doctor saying to apply more if I had any problems. It would clear my skin, then get worse and worse: leathery skin, painful blisters, oozing nasty redness, bumpy skin - Red Skin Syndrome."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I've been dealing with perioral dermatitis and eczema on my face since June 2018. My face blew up after topical steroids were applied for what I thought was eczema. Fast forward to now, January 21, 2019, my skin is literally clear. I tried EVERYTHING. I spent so much money. I did take a round of prednisone in August, and that helped a lot, but I was still getting these crazy flares. This ointment has been a life changer. It does burn and sometimes it’s for the first two applications...but trust me, it will get better. This is the first time in over six months that I have been rash and itch free. I also use Specto gel face soap."

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "Applied this to treat what looked like a mix of folliculitis and atopic dermatitis flares (but which turned out to be just atopic dermatitis) on both lower legs, especially the shins. Itchiness, redness, and dryness abated about 80% after one week without any initial irritations or burning sensation. There is no feeling of soreness or increased sensibility whatsoever, I've basically just stopped thinking about those problematic parts of my skin, so there's that passive psychological boost, too. Only 9/10 because long-term results are still unknown and because it's pretty greasy."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I was prescribed Protopic for atopic dermatitis on my eyelids, which had been kicking around my eyelids for about 4 months, really irritating. The first application definitely was on the hot/burning side for about 12 hours, the second and third applications were not. The atopic dermatitis appears to be improving. Also, I do not know if it was coincidental, but I woke up at 4 AM with a heavy migraine and then got sick. That may have been from the meal I ate at 9 PM, some sort of food poisoning, because I had gas all day long and the food did all come up. Don't know, but I am fine 24 hours later."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I developed contact dermatitis because of an allergy to cosmetics. The doctor prescribed tacrolimus 0.03% and some antihistamine tablets. I used tacrolimus for 1 week. Initially, when I applied it, it really stung, the area felt hot, red, and itchy. I couldn't sleep well. But I kept on using it. After 4 days, my skin was soft, clear, and it was moisturized. It was greasy as hell. But it also moisturizes your skin because it has a kind of thick Vaseline texture. Please start with a low concentration of 0.03 to minimize side effects."

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "Like rubbing lava on my skin, makes me feel like I'm on fire, makes my skin redder and worse. Increases my stress levels, causing me to scratch more. The worst thing I have ever been prescribed for this condition."

For Seborrheic Dermatitis "I have seborrheic dermatitis, and the skin issues on my face and forehead, behind the ear, neck, and chest can be handled quite easily with this cream. It is an expensive cream compared to other creams, but it works in my experience. Of course, it is not magical, and depending on the situation, it can take a week of application for me to get it under control. By that, I mean not so red or flaky or spots. Like others, I sometimes feel a little itchiness after application, but I'm guessing that's the cream at work. I don't know if there are any side effects, but I only tend to apply it if my condition flares up really badly to get it under control. It isn't a 100% cure, but at least it helps a lot for my skin problem. I'm living in Southeast Asia if that makes any difference."

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "Dermatologist prescribed for facial dermatitis. After some time, warts appeared due to lack of immunity. Please take caution, I have warts now for over 3 months. Remedy is to allow the immunity to redevelop over months and then with nitrogen removal. A very unpleasant experience."

For Atopic Dermatitis "A few days back, I had been to my dermatologist. They recommended tacrolimus ointment to apply on the affected spots on my face, and from where I remembered, it itched so bad. I didn't have any burning sensation, though, but the itching was too severe, and my face was getting light reddish, too. I thought that it had some kind of allergic reaction with my skin. However, only in 2 days, the white spots started vanishing, and the itchiness subsided after 5 days, in 1 week, I got clear, smooth skin. It really did work (though it needs a lot of patience about the greasiness and for the annoying itching, but it really does work)."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Eczema has met its match. I was born with the stuff and used topical cortisone products my entire life with poor results. Finally, I tried Dupixent, and it cleared my skin up nicely but caused horrible conjunctivitis. It felt like it took all that eczema and shoved it into my eyes. I finally had to go off the Dupixent, and my dermatologist referred me to an allergist who prescribed tacrolimus. I got it just as my eyes were getting better and the rest of my body getting worse. I cannot believe how effective the tacrolimus ointment is. Yes, if you apply it to inflamed eczema, it will itch and sting, and I keep a supply of lidocaine cream for this, but it has cleared up very stubborn eczema very quickly, and where I have used it, no eczema has returned so far. I hope it keeps working. No, it is not a cure, but probably as close to a cure as you can get right now."

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "I went camping over Memorial Day at our ranch... Long story short, it's Oklahoma, it's summer, IT'S CHIGGER TIME! Got torn up on my genitals. After an appointment at Urgent Care and a negative STD test for herpes, the clap, syphilis, etc., the doctor gave me some antibiotics (Cephalexin 500mg x 4 daily & Hydroxyzine). After 4 days, all looked promising, ran out of antibiotics... All resumed. After 3 days of swearing I would castrate myself just to stop the itch... Went to a dermatologist. Same tests for STDs all over again, but was given more antibiotics and 0.1% Protopic. Put on at 12:05 pm after picking up from the pharmacy. About 7:00 pm my penis was burning."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Ok, so I’ve been using this tacrolimus cream since I was younger, probably around 15 years old. I used it for a while, and eventually, my eczema went away, but I had my first child in 2018 at 19 years old, and afterwards, the eczema came back on me hard. So I requested this medication again. Yes, it DOES burn when you first start using it. Your skin needs to get used to it. Your face will be very sensitive to light. Once your body gets used to it, it works WONDERS. You will notice your face clearing up very quickly and feeling so much better. I use it every day on the skin on the creases of my nose and above my lip. My skin has gotten so used to it that it rarely burns, and if it does, it’s only for about 5 whole seconds after applying. This is my lifesaver all year long, and especially once the air gets dry. It does not cure, only helps."

Tacrolimus topical "I developed contact dermatitis on both eyelids out of the blue (unidentified trigger). Both eyelids were badly inflamed with infuriatingly itchy and sore red patches of skin, both on upper eyelids and the lower ones, with some swelling. Having tried absolutely everything, including hydrocortisone cream, all with zero effect, my doctor advised I tried 0.1% Protopic. Feeling nervous about possible side effects, I was willing to try anything that might help. For the first 2 days, I had dreadful side effects of itching at an intensity I hadn’t believed would be possible, stinging, and burning. Having read that the side effects ease after several days, I persevered, but it was truly shocking. I am so glad I did. By day 3, my eyelids were vastly improved, and the severity of the side effects greatly reduced (none by day 4). By day 6 (today), my eyelids are completely recovered. Seeing my doctor in 2 days to discuss weaning off Protopic. Don’t be scared to give it a try and a chance to work."

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "Literally saved my life. Before: my whole face was covered in dry, itchy, red, painful eczema - I could barely open my eyes or move my mouth. It was horrible. Went to my dermatologist; within one week, it almost completely cleared up - I saw daily improvements. It was amazing. I love it so much!! I haven't had a flare-up in months. I don't use it on a daily basis, only to treat mild red patches at times. Very good for prevention. No side effects for me. It's gentle and loving."

Tacrolimus topical "Incredibly effective for my psoriasis, no burning, a little goes a long way. I've been using it for ~23 years, with ZERO noticeable adverse side effects. My profound gratitude to the Japanese chemist who developed tacrolimus (generic name for Protopic)."

For Atopic Dermatitis "This medication feels like putting salt in a wound. I was prescribed this for severe hand eczema after steroids failed to control it. I would rather not be treated at all than suffer the two hours of intense burning pain and swelling that happens with every application. My skin is worse after using this."

For Atopic Dermatitis "The doctor prescribed me this ointment a couple of weeks ago. I finally decided to use it after several weeks. Within minutes of applying the ointment to my skin, it burned my skin so bad. I literally was shaking as I tried to fall asleep with the excruciating burning. I blistered all over my arms, and it was horrible. Showering hurt like anything. Don't get it if you have very, very sensitive skin."

"My dermatologist recommended keeping this in the fridge. That seems to prevent the burning sensation others report. I’ve not had any problems with that. Using this for rosacea and it’s a slow process but working. Two weeks on, two weeks off, with low dose doxycycline the whole time."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have had eczema for a couple of months now, and nothing has made my confidence go down as much as eczema has. Being uncomfortable in your own skin and not being able to hide it, even when you wear makeup, sucks. HEAR ME OUT: I have used Eucrisa before this religiously. No, it did not seem to help the eczema go away, but it helped the redness go down. I was nervous to try Tacrolimus because of all the reviews, but I decided to give it a try so I could gain my confidence back. I started off by just putting a little bit on a small area of my eczema. I HIGHLY recommend doing that. It's only been 4 days since I have used it, and I am one of the few that has had little to no side effects, and about 50% of my eczema is gone. Please be aware that everyone's experience will be different. I also recommend putting a base layer of moisturizer on before applying the cream. For me, this cream has been a miracle, and I hope everyone finds something that works for them."
