Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "Cleared my eczema 'moustache' that I've been battling for years in only a few days. I couldn't believe it. Also got rid of eczema under my eyes in the same time period. It was unbelievable. No burning. I used it on my hands when they got bad and on the inside of my elbow. Using it in the elbow caused it to feel unbearably hot when water touched the area in the shower, however, I only used it for a week, and it cleared the eczema there. Been clear for months. I will continue using this stuff, it's been a godsend for me."

For Perioral Dermatitis "The first time you apply, you will have one intense itching and burning sensation to the area. My area was around the nose and mouth area. Keep applying the crème since this side effect will subside after a few days. I did feel some tingling in my lips area after the area healed. Other than that, this product works great!"

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "After months of trying many different steroid creams prescribed by my doctor, a dermatologist prescribed Protopic. Absolute miracle ointment. After two uses, my skin had cleared up amazingly. I suffered bad for the last year with psoriasis on my face. I couldn’t cover with makeup as it didn’t react well and just looked a mess. This has honestly changed my life, and you would never know I even had psoriasis after just two weeks of applying. I was lucky and didn’t experience any uncomfortable side effects that many people mention, such as burning. My face did feel warm during the first 24 hours, but nothing that was uncomfortable. Absolutely amazing stuff."

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "This definitely works, but you must stick with it! When I first put it on my skin (face and neck only), it felt extremely hot and very, VERY itchy. I thought I was having an allergic reaction to it and/or my skin flare-up was getting worse. After several hours, the itching dissipated and my skin just felt hot in the worst affected areas - this wasn’t too bad at all. The redness also cleared up and my skin started looking totally normal (as if I didn’t have eczema). Pretty amazing result."

Tacrolimus topical for Perioral Dermatitis "Developed perioral dermatitis because of topical steroid use on my face. I have had 20 years of experience with eczema. I only use SLS-free facial and body products, so I have maintained good skin habits for a long time. Moisture is key. There are many brands that help tremendously with the condition. Stop using steroids on your face right now if you are. I went to see my dermatologist, who prescribed Protopic and antibiotics, combined with emollient use and Rupanase antihistamine. I was expecting severe burning as per reviews, but honestly only a few headaches and slight tingling all over. I know it is early days, but really just see your dermatologist. The price is just quite high, but what is the comfort of your skin worth if it works well? Keep moisturizing and cleansing with the correct products every day."

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "Do NOT use this around your eyes from a flare from Dupixent (Dupixent-induced eczema around the eyes). Burns like hellfire!! It started burning about an hour after I put it on and hasn’t stopped. A day later!!!! Not a good medicine for eczema with Dupixent, in my opinion."

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "Using this cream makes my skin as smooth as a baby’s bum. It honestly does work on my eczema, however, I only use it on my face, as I cannot stand the burning sensation. It’s greasy, and so I only use it at night, but the burning hot sensation is not pleasant on the first application. This is why I won’t use it on my arms and legs, as I cannot stand feeling this way. It robs me of my sleep on the first night of application, however, on the second and third day, the burning sensation seems to subside. I tend to spend most of the night sticking my head out of the window to try and catch some cold air. It’s just awful, but it actually works, which is why I persevere."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Avoid Protopic at all costs. My dermatologist prescribed it, and my G.P. did a repeat prescription for 10 years. It had damaged my skin. Red, burning, couldn't go in the sun, or drink alcohol as the skin goes bright red and burning sensation. I have stopped using it 6 months ago, and the withdrawal has been brutal. Just Google TSW. Although it's not a steroid, it acts like it, and the skin becomes addicted, then becomes less effective. Please avoid, especially on children."

Tacrolimus topical for Perioral Dermatitis "I've been using Protopic (0.1% ointment) for about six years to treat facial seborrheic dermatitis. On the plus side, Protopic ended five miserable years of itching, redness, and burning that no cream seemed to help, and for that reason, I am truly thankful. On the downside, it's very greasy (similar to Vaseline), which means it stays on the skin all day if applied in the morning. Drinking alcohol is a definite no-no too, as a tiny amount causes an awful reaction, making the skin immediately burn bright red. Annoyingly, if I don't use Protopic for about two weeks, when I reapply it, the skin burns and itches intensely for a few hours (REALLY uncomfortable). Using it more often, say twice a week, does however resolve this problem."

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "I am a 27-year-old male who suffers from atopic dermatitis. I was prescribed Protopic by my dermatologist to use daily for 2 weeks. The rash on my forehead has worsened, and my face is still red, and my skin is flaky. This has not worked for me."

"My dermatologist prescribed Protopic for my vaginal lichen sclerosus. The first application resulted in severe itching and burning. The next day was pretty painful. It felt like my skin was burning and raw, and I was panicking! I called my dermatologist, and she said it happens often to feel a hot burning sensation when using the medication, and eventually, it dissipates. After a couple of days, the burning sensation disappeared slowly. I have been using the ointment since as needed for over 10 years, reducing how often I would apply it until my condition was under control. Today, I still use the ointment from time to time when I feel that I get a flare-up (probably once or twice a month). This medication saved my life! I am forever grateful to the dermatologist that recommended it! After trying many different treatments, this is the only medication that worked and treated my condition successfully!"

Tacrolimus topical for Perioral Dermatitis "Absolutely amazing. Suffered from eczema since I was a year old. Had a flare-up recently on my face, and steroid ointment did not work. Doctor prescribed me Protopic. It burned for a day, but the second day I saw amazing results! Redness, dryness, itching, and burning were gone. On the fourth day, my face is smooth and much calmer. This stuff definitely works."

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "The first time I used this, I only put it around my nose and down to my lip. It burned so bad immediately. I cleaned it off after an hour as the heat and the burning were bad. Even after this, it burned all night, I had to have a fan blowing on me, but that didn't help much. My whole face (not just the area I put it on) burned for over 24 hours, even after washing multiple times. A month later, I tried it again after my skin had calmed a bit, and this time was much better. I didn't get the same burning, just a slight heat from it. Another side effect I've had is that when the room I'm in gets warmer, my whole face burns and gets very red, this lasts for hours. I've been using this for a month now, but I've seen very little improvement with my skin. It's still sore, tight, and burns and itches."

Tacrolimus topical for Perioral Dermatitis "Used for 3 weeks morning and night to help my perioral dermatitis. Every time I drank even a small glass of wine, the areas I had applied the ointment to began to burn and turned bright red. Even now, 3 days since I’ve used any cream at all, the same reaction occurs. Does anyone know when this will stop happening?! It did clear my skin, but I’m worried the effects were damaging."

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "Developed eczema on my eyelids and hairline around my face. Itchy, red, and burning for a few months, flare-ups were painful. Dr. prescribed cortisone, but it was only temporary help. I did not apply lots. Then dermatologist prescribed Protopic. Yes, it burned for the first 72 hrs, but it subsided, and I was completely healed within a week! Such a relief. I only apply when I feel like a flare-up is starting. Great for preventing."

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "I started using this cream on my hands a couple of weeks ago, almost immediately, my hands started burning, but I put it down to the dermatitis. After a few days, there was improvement on my hands, so I carried on using it once a day. Last weekend, I drank wine, and my goodness, my face and neck started burning and went really red. I never correlated it to the cream, I just thought I'd developed an allergy to the wine. That evening, my whole body started tingling, it was quite scary. Still didn't think it could have been the cream, so I carried on using it once a day. The tingling carried on all week, it was driving me to despair. Yesterday, I read the patient leaflet, and to my horror, the common side effects are the ones I was suffering from. I do have sensitive skin, so maybe that's why I reacted so badly. I didn't use the cream last night, still tingling skin today, but not as bad. Hopefully, it will be out of my system soon. My advice is don't use this cream if you have sensitive skin."

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "This product. -_- I've had eczema for as long as I can remember, and now it's started to spread to new areas. The dermatologist prescribed this to use around the face and neck as it's not a steroid. I was aware that it initially burns the first few times...almost to the point of rather dealing with eczema over the burning. I've used it a handful of times now, as and when. It does soften the thick buildup. However, after applying, the skin is very sensitive to itching. Well...last night I itched my neck 2 hours after applying this...DO NOT DO THIS. I never knew 'burning' had levels 10 times worse than experienced. Had to scrub the area and apply a wet flannel for a good hour to calm it down. It may work, just not for the faint-hearted."

Tacrolimus topical for Atopic Dermatitis "Patches, newer outbreak of atopic dermatitis not going away with desonide cream. Nasty breakout on right bicep and contact with that side of my body. You can feel and see heavy blotchy lines. Tried Protopic ointment this evening for the first time (Day 1), and yes, I experienced the initial painful itching and burning experienced by so many. I put ice in a baggie directly on the affected areas and instant relief, although it probably dilutes the Protopic strength. I keep on icing as needed. I will do as so many of you recommend and hang in with it for a spell. I'm thinking twice a day until cleared. Thanks so much. I will report back on progress soon."

Tacrolimus topical "I’ve suffered with psoriasis for 3 years, with small patches on my face. During a recent flare, the patches grew and became so large the majority of my face was covered. I didn’t even want to leave the house because it got so bad, my skin was constantly splitting, weeping, shredding. I couldn’t go 10 minutes without applying another layer of moisturizer and feeling my skin peel off in my hands. Everyone I saw commented on how terrible it looked and how sore it was. I was so depressed, and doctors kept saying they couldn’t do anything for it on my face. I finally saw a dermatologist, and he prescribed Protopic. After reading the reviews, I was petrified to even apply it on my face, but given how desperate I was, I tried it anyway. Well, I wished someone had told me about it sooner. I am 4 days in, having just put a thin layer on each night and washed it off in the morning, and my skin is almost clear. I am genuinely gobsmacked at how fast it worked. I feel like me again. I just pray it keeps it clear!!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "Definitely helps reduce some of the flaking skin around my eyes, but when I used it, it made my eyes feel very hot, like I put my eyes next to a heater. Tried washing my face, and the hotness still didn’t go away. It’s been almost 24 hours now, and I can still feel it on my eyes. It’s not horrible by any means, but I will probably not use this again, unfortunately, I don’t want the hotness getting any worse."

For Perioral Dermatitis "I have perioral dermatitis, which gets very bad around my mouth and can lead to burning, tight skin, making it hard to eat, and so on. I had a crying session for a day or two because it was just that bad. I reached out to a dermatologist who prescribed this medication - I got the 0.1% ointment. It has been wonderful for me. I was able to get off the medication for a while (since my dermatitis only really acts up during the change of seasons, I can use it once a month for good measure). I forget that I have perioral dermatitis. I love this product. I know that a lot of people have a hard time with it, and to that, I say if you're supposed to go on it, just use very little on a wet face and top it off with your moisturizer and see how it goes. Right now, I start with a very damp face, use a toner, then the ointment, then my moisturizer, and then an oil. But when you first go on this, I would say keep it minimal. And stop drinking milk."

For Atopic Dermatitis "My doctor prescribed this ointment in conjunction with memetasone cream. I had a severe reaction with red, hot, weepy, itchy, thin-feeling skin that bled with the lightest scratch. Per doctor, I stopped using memetasone and just used tacrolimus, from there, skin dried up and became very scaly, still itchy, thin-feeling, and painful. The ointment also made my skin feel very dry."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have had eczema for a couple of months now, and nothing has made my confidence go down as much as eczema has. Being uncomfortable in your own skin and not being able to hide it, even when you wear makeup, sucks. HEAR ME OUT: I have used Eucrisa before this religiously. No, it did not seem to help the eczema go away, but it helped the redness go down. I was nervous to try Tacrolimus because of all the reviews, but I decided to give it a try so I could gain my confidence back. I started off by just putting a little bit on a small area of my eczema. I HIGHLY recommend doing that. It's only been 4 days since I have used it, and I am one of the few that has had little to no side effects, and about 50% of my eczema is gone. Please be aware that everyone's experience will be different. I also recommend putting a base layer of moisturizer on before applying the cream. For me, this cream has been a miracle, and I hope everyone finds something that works for them."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have suffered like many others for years with rubbish skin. Had every steroid under the sun but wanted to try and stop the problem from happening in the first place. I was prescribed Protopic. Yes, at first it burns like hell, but that to me is it working, and I suffer it. As I continue to use it, this burning doesn't happen, and it has left me with lovely skin. I have found, however, that I did not apply on the Thursday and had some alcohol on the Friday, thinking the cream would be out of my system, but definitely not! My face became very flushed when I started drinking, but then calmed down. My eyelids and the area around the eye were completely swollen the following morning and have just got worse.... will need to monitor this."

For Perioral Dermatitis "My perioral dermatitis began as a few small papules in the corner of my mouth. I started using a corticosteroid on it that I’d been prescribed for a different skin issue, and it went away… then came back a bit worse… and so began the cycle. I soon learned that I SHOULD NOT HAVE USED A CORTICOSTEROID!!! By the time I got to my Dr, the papules had changed to dry, red, patchy skin around my mouth and chin. He prescribed Tacrolimus 0.1%. The warnings kind of scared me, but I used it carefully and sparingly. The first night it tingled and itched, but the difference after 3 days was amazing! After 3 days of usage, I haven’t had any burning, redness is now minimal, and it looks like my dermatitis will be gone in another 3-4 days. I will say that my skin constantly feels warm and tingly, it’s not unpleasant though."
