Silodosin for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I'm 65 and have had weak flow for years. It seems I've tried every drug available, but not much relief. The first dose of Rapaflo gave noticeable improvement within hours. I thought I had found the solution until the diarrhea started. I cut the dose to the 4 mg capsule once per day, and diarrhea was solved, but sexual problems set in. No ejaculation. Judging from this site, this is not a minor side effect, but almost a guarantee. After a few weeks, I began to have increasing difficulty reaching orgasm at all. My sex life is fading fast. Rated +10 for effectiveness and 0 for side effects."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I am 35 years old and went for a cystoscopy a week ago. This was due to weak urination, urgency to go to the loo, and not completely emptying my bladder. This was for +/- 4 years. It was only until this year that it got worse... hard to pee. After two days in the hospital, I was prescribed silodosin. The first two nights it made me pee every hour. With hardly any sleep, I consulted the doctor, and he told me to change to taking it during the daytime. Then the side effects kicked in... I felt dizzy, pain in lower back, chest congestion, first constipation and later diarrhea. I know this may sound like way too much... however, I never had these issues before. It's making it really difficult to live a normal life. I just want to know if anyone else has similar issues?"

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I have irritative prostatitis (also BPH). I'm changing from saw palmetto/pumpkin seed diet supplement to silodosin, which gave an improvement in urination only initially. Zero or weak ejaculation set in, low libido, and ED too. After a few months, severe postural hypotension and diarrhea set in, coupled with frequent slow urination (LUTS). Going back to saw palmetto - fewer side effects, approximately the same long-term effects on LUTS. Update: Urologist suggesting change to tadalafil (Cialis(R)) 5 mg... might try and see what happens."

Silodosin for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I have been getting up 3-4 times every night and finally decided to try medication again. (Previously tried Flomax, which did nothing for me.) Rapaflo, after 4 days, gave me only a headache, diarrhea, and at best a 20% flow increase. I still got up several times during the night, maybe one less time than previous. The side effects and minuscule benefit made it a no-brainer to stop taking this useless medication. A waste of $78."

Silodosin for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I was recommended to take Rapaflo due to a kidney stone my body was trying to pass. I took 1 pill and passed 2 stones in 2 days. That was wonderful! However, not being told about the dry ejaculation freaked me out completely. I thought it was broken for good now or that maybe another stone had lodged, preventing anything from coming out. Googled it and began to relax, but the other issue is my heart rate dropped so much I thought my heart was broken too and in a really bad way. My energy level crashed, and after a full night's rest, I had to lay down before heading out to work. The stuffy nose was irritating, to say the least. Loose stools, slight upset stomach, but not bad, and terrible leg cramps. It's been 2 days, still the same symptoms."
