Serious side effects of Silodosin

Along with its needed effects, silodosin may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

General

The most common adverse reaction was retrograde ejaculation.[Ref]

Genitourinary

Very common (10% or more): Retrograde ejaculation (28.1%)

Common (1% to 10%): Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) increased

Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Priapism[Ref]

Respiratory

Common (1% to 10%): Nasopharyngitis, nasal congestion, sinusitis, rhinorrhea

Postmarketing reports: Pharyngeal edema[Ref]

Nervous system

Common (1% to 10%): Dizziness, headache

Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Syncope[Ref]

Gastrointestinal

Common (1% to 10%): Diarrhea, abdominal pain

Postmarketing reports: Swollen tongue[Ref]

Cardiovascular

Common (1% to 10%): Orthostatic hypotension[Ref]

Other

Common (1% to 10%): Asthenia[Ref]

Psychiatric

Common (1% to 10%): Insomnia[Ref]

Ocular

Frequency not reported: Intraoperative floppy iris syndrome[Ref]

Dermatologic

Postmarketing reports: Toxic skin eruption, purpura, skin rash, pruritus, urticaria[Ref]

Hepatic

Postmarketing reports: Jaundice, hepatic function impaired, transaminases increased[Ref]

Immunologic

Postmarketing reports: Allergic-type reactions[Ref]
