Along with its needed effects, silodosin may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking silodosin:

Less common
  • Chills
  • cold sweats
  • confusion
  • dizziness
  • dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
Incidence not known
  • Abdominal or stomach pain
  • clay-colored stools
  • dark urine
  • fever
  • headache
  • itching
  • loss of appetite
  • nausea
  • pinpoint red or purple spots on the skin
  • rash
  • skin blisters
  • unpleasant breath odor
  • unusual tiredness or weakness
  • vomiting of blood
  • yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects of silodosin may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Common (1% to 10%): Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) increased
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Priapism[Ref]

Respiratory

Common (1% to 10%): Nasopharyngitis, nasal congestion, sinusitis, rhinorrhea
Postmarketing reports: Pharyngeal edema[Ref]

Nervous system

Common (1% to 10%): Dizziness, headache
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Syncope[Ref]

Gastrointestinal

Common (1% to 10%): Diarrhea, abdominal pain
Postmarketing reports: Swollen tongue[Ref]

Cardiovascular

Common (1% to 10%): Orthostatic hypotension[Ref]
