Silodosin "64 years old. Went to the doctor because I was getting up 4 times a night to pee and at times didn't have a strong stream. Had no problem with my prostate, blood test came back fine. Put me on Rapaflo once a day. Slowly started having problems with my sleep. My primary started putting me on sleeping pills. Had a good sex life up to now, then everything stopped. Couldn't perform anymore, always soft. Took a pill for that, still only half-mast, never could ejaculate. 3 years of that till I got help from a friend. Told me he went through the same problem. I stopped all my pills but blood pressure. Back to life again. Doctors like to push pills."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Put on silodosin for decreased urine flow. After four days on the meds, I came but didn't ejaculate. Not taking it anymore. I wasn't told it was a side effect, scared the life out of me, tbh. Fortunately, my wife is medically qualified and researched the side effects."

Silodosin for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "In 2009, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Two tumors. Underwent 42 treatments of radiation. My choice over surgery. Had two shots of Lupron six months apart to kill the testosterone and help the radiation do the job. Cancer gone and PSA tests less than 1 ever since. Started taking Rapaflo 8 mg every night, and it helped me sleep at least 3 or 4 hours without having to get up to the bathroom so often. I think the radiation hurt my bladder and the result was frequent urination. Anyway, to the point. The Rapaflo works, but I cannot experience a normal ejaculation. But when I quit taking the Rapaflo for a week or more, I can with extreme pain, both from the penis and the area of the prostate. It is a burning sensation. Have tried twice."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "As a side effect from silodosin, I fainted, broke my neck, and was lucky as I survived. The prescriber didn't tell me about the side effect of lowering blood pressure, causing fainting. I would say have a TURP and forget drugs."

Silodosin for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I have been getting up 3-4 times every night and finally decided to try medication again. (Previously tried Flomax, which did nothing for me.) Rapaflo, after 4 days, gave me only a headache, diarrhea, and at best a 20% flow increase. I still got up several times during the night, maybe one less time than previous. The side effects and minuscule benefit made it a no-brainer to stop taking this useless medication. A waste of $78."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I am an elderly male and was prescribed this silodosin 4 mg for BPH. Took it for two days, two days of a living nightmare. Headaches, brain fog, and cognitive impairment. In my case, my opinion of this drug is that it is dangerous. I'm normally alert and don't have any memory problems. However, after taking this rubbish, I went into my man cave to retrieve some items. Luckily, I returned a couple of hours later to find I had turned on an electric radiator. I had no recollection of doing this. Had I not returned, then there is a possibility the man cave could have burnt down. There were a number of other stupid things I did, but that was the most serious. I stopped taking this rubbish immediately."

Silodosin "I am a 37-year-old woman, and I was prescribed Rapaflo by my urologist because I have a kidney stone. This is not my first one, and I was to take the medication for two weeks. The stone didn't pass, and I had a different reaction than the men who posted reviews. I did have a very dry mouth, but I also had an unexplainable jumping sensation after urinating. The worst part (or the best some might think) was that it actually increased my sexual desires. It would have been okay except kidney stones are very painful-who wants to have sex at a time like that."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Probably the worst medication I've ever taken. It had very little effect on my prostate but gave me swollen sinuses, blurry vision, fatigue, muscular weakness, retrograde ejaculation, and no ejaculation."

Silodosin "Ever since puberty, I have suffered from premature ejaculation. Tried the usual suggested treatments of numbing gel, condom use, squeeze technique, etc. Talked to my doctor - she put me on Paxil and later tried Zoloft. Side effects were not good, and use was discontinued. But I was frustrated, and so was my wife - a sexless marriage in our mid-30s is not good. So my doctor suggested trying silodosin 8 mg. It worked - well, almost too well. Turned off my ability to ejaculate and muted my orgasm somewhat. But I was now able to satisfy my wife, and I got used to the muted orgasm. Since my doctor explained things well, the lack of ejaculation did not bother me. Then my doctor suggested I try the 4 mg daily dose. Now I have powerful orgasms that are dry. Rapaflo is probably the best medication out there for PE, even though it is off-label so far."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "My age is 79. Had pee problems starting 10+ years ago. A nurse referred me to saw palmetto, and it worked great for many years. Then, not so great, to the doc. Tried different drugs, did not like the side effects. Changed drugs, changed docs, and finally, about 2 years ago, while on finasteride, I was given Rapaflo. Worked great, but the cost- the doc said generic was coming. Then it came - as Silodosin. One-tenth the cost (great). Started using it, and it seemed just as nice and great as Rapaflo. But, then after two 90-day renewals, I started having the head problems. Now I am wondering if it is because Costco keeps changing manufacturers??? I am going to ask Costco to check the manufacturer for the first two prescriptions and see. Will let you know."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I'm 73 and have taken silodosin for about four years for BPH. Before taking it, frequent urination informed my life. When I went for my three-mile walks, I kept track of houses in my neighborhood being renovated so I could use the porta-johnnies. Every time I had to sit in a waiting room, I had to visit the bathroom. I was up many times during the night to urinate. Silodosin's effectiveness has waned a bit, but it is still much better than before. I also have the retrograde ejaculation like everybody else. Don't be fooled by my age. My sex drive hasn't diminished a bit. I have not noticed much, if any, lessened intensity of feeling, and my wife LOVES the dry ejaculation."

Silodosin for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I'm a 68-year-old male with an enlarged prostate plus a UTI. I took an antibiotic which helped with my UTI. My doctor had me on Flomax and Proscar. I still had trouble urinating, and he changed my meds to Rapaflo, Proscar, and Cialis. The Rapaflo has worked better for me than the Flomax. I'm also on blood pressure meds, so I keep a check on it. I had some dizziness when getting up from sitting at first, but it's better now. So far, Rapaflo is working better for me!"

"To the point: my experience with silodosin is bad. My doctor prescribed it so my kidney can get rid of small kidney stones (1.0-1.5 mm), and he gave me the 8 mg dose. Well, I don't know yet if it helped me with the stones. Actually, I think it might since I felt some kind of discomfort similar to the one you feel when stones are traveling your ureter. However, I took the pills for 8 days (skipping one day once due to a conference), and the side effects were (and still are - I stopped taking the pills today) very bad: dizziness, photophobia, muscle pain - to the point I wasn't feeling safe driving my car or going to the supermarket. Of course, also no ejaculation - I wonder how reliable the stats/studies are since I believe that, in reality, almost everybody has no ejaculation while taking this drug. Maybe it helps in the case of BPH, but if you have really small stones like me (smaller than 2 mm), I suggest dropping this drug if you feel bad after taking it. It's not worth it."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "In the past year, my peeing frequency has increased to 3-4 times a night (from 1-2 times). I began taking Urorec (4 mg) two weeks ago, following a rectal ultrasound confirming an enlarged prostate (PSA 3.9). In Europe, a 30-day supply only costs $2.50! I'm in my early 60s and this is the first time I've taken this type of medication. The Urorec has improved my urine flow/bladder emptying and I now get up only 1 or 2 times during the night. I have experienced both anejaculation and reduced ejaculation, and the sensation of orgasm is less intense and lasts less time, plus aching leg muscles. I intend to carry on ... perhaps exploring a 5 days on/2 days off routine to see if it improves orgasms/ejaculation."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "40 y/o male diagnosed with bladder outlet obstruction. The doctor put me on Rapaflo as a last medication effort for bladder retention. The number of times I have to go during the day has gone from 7 to 3-4 times a day. Flow is unbelievably better. Like the other reviews have said, the main drawback is the retrograde ejaculation. The strange thing is it comes and goes depending on the time of day."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I was diagnosed with BPH in 2018 and underwent TURP surgery that year. After experiencing blood clots in my urine and normal urination times when taking Oxybutynin, my doctor changed me over to Tamsulosin and then to Silodosin. No longer having blood clots, but now I am waking up 3 to 4 times a night to urinate (plus frequently during the day) instead of just once. I can't wait to tell my doctor how it is not great to take Silodosin, then having more frequent trips to the bathroom, plus dribbling in my underwear after I thought my urine stream was complete. Also, I am amazed my insurance would pay almost $600 for a 90-day supply of Silodosin."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "First, I started with tamsulosin which worked great for a few months and then my body got used to it. It did come with retrograde ejaculation. I then tried alfuzosin which worked fine but not as well. This came with no sexual side effects. I then switched to silodosin and that has cut down on my nocturia to maybe one time per night. However, it does come with retrograde ejaculation. I would say that so far, the silodosin works best for nocturia."

Silodosin "Since beginning my twenty-one day trial, I have experienced stuffy nasal passages, ejaculate-free orgasms, decreased libido, and increased flow. This all in an eight-day period. I will likely look for another medicine because of the sexual side effects. I am a 56-year-old male, who is otherwise healthy, with the exception of occasional erectile dysfunction and a moderate case of COPD."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Given Rapaflo by doc for non-bacterial prostatitis. This drug made my love life possible, first night. It has slowly taken all symptoms away except burning with urination over 9 days. Some of the benefits of this are similar to Viagra. The only thing I don't like is no ejaculations. If it was not for that, would not mind staying on this med."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "After more than 4 years of taking Rapaflo, I don’t have a benign prostate problem, but the trade-off is no more sex with my wife. Yes, I am a dry well now. The only time I was able to ejaculate was when I was out of town for over two weeks without the drug. I had a screaming orgasm and ejaculated a huge and wonderful amount. I felt renewed! I am contemplating no longer taking my medicine despite the benefits. Saw palmetto was my friend for years and kept my prostate from being benign. My doctor is not a fan of herbals. He can’t make money from the folks at “Big Pharma.” LOL!!!!"

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Has done a better job than Flomax with trips to the bathroom at night. But, as others found little to no semen. I don't really see the semen in my urine, though. Another issue is that I seem to have urine or some type of leakage during the nights I have sex that are present in my underwear. But only the nights I have sex."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I am 73 and have an enlarged prostate (x2), taking Finasteride, and have tried Flomax and Alfuzosin. The main side effect that is driving me crazy is hyperacusis. My doctor switched me to silodosin, and as usual, it helped in all expected ways, but still, the hyperacusis comes back. Loud noises make me extremely nervous, and it is difficult to be around people. I may have to have the TURP surgery as I cannot tolerate the side effects, especially the hyperacusis. No one seems to have this particular problem, but people as I do experience the throat and nasal symptoms. I can tolerate the dry ejaculations but not the others. I am considering going to a 4 mg dose. It does provide adequate flow."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "After my third bad kidney stone passing this year, I went to a urologist, and he put me on Flomax, but got a splitting headache the first day, so he switched me to Silodosin. He didn't tell me about the reverse ejaculation side effect, so I freaked out the first time it happened. I'm on other meds that cut my sex drive, and I had physical anhedonia anyway, so ejaculations/orgasms were painful most times. My urine stream is stronger, so hopefully I'll pee out the other small kidney stones I have. After three months, I'll get a scan to see if it helped."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Had hernia surgery and woke up and couldn’t pee. Had a catheter, and a couple of days later, the urologist put me on silodosin. After a day or two, pee returned, but not like before surgery. Side effects were awful, I took it for three weeks and told the doctor I needed to try getting off this stuff. I stopped taking it and started taking a saw palmetto supplement, and peeing was about the same as with silodosin but with no side effects. I’ve been taking the supplement now for a week, with slow improvement, not yet totally back to normal."
