For Psoriatic Arthritis "90% cured my terrible PS skin. 70% improvement in my joints but jaw still very sore. Knee swelling there still, but big improvement in back and neck pain. Ankles have improved too. Was in 160 mg, now taking 300 mg, hopefully, it will help more."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I started Cosentyx 9 weeks ago. It truly is a miracle drug. With the first dose, my psoriasis was disappearing. I have lived with psoriasis for 27 years. Now I am happy to be able to actually wear short sleeves and shorts."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I have been on Cosentyx for almost 3 years, and it has done great for my skin but not much for my psoriatic arthritis, which attacks the tendons throughout my body, mainly the lower half (ouch). I have experienced palpitations for a couple of days after injecting the (300 mg) and only a couple of hours' worth of palpitations after injecting the (150 mg), and both injections cause golf ball-sized injection lumps that itch. I do believe this drug also interferes with my thyroid levels (I'm thyroid-less), so definitely pay close attention to your thyroid health and thyroid symptoms while on this biologic and any biologic. The weight gain is definitely real, no matter what the manufacturer or your doctor says."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "55+ years of psoriasis and 10+ years of psoriatic arthritis. In the past with Enbrel (caused multiple shingles breakouts), methotrexate (minimal impact on the arthritis). 2 1/2 years ago, started on Cosentyx with amazing results for the first 18 months. After that, overall health declined. Started with loss of taste, which progressed to severe pain on swallowing, debilitating earaches, runny nose, oral blisters on gums, swollen gums, thrush. Made the decision to stop Cosentyx. Gradually, the impacts from the toxicity of Cosentyx are dissipating. All the psoriatic symptoms are back, as was expected, and worse than ever. I'm giving my body a year to reset before I try anything else. It's a setback physically with the joint pain, but the side effects caused by Cosentyx as it built up in my body were scary. Stumped multiple specialists about what was going on, as much of what I was experiencing was not listed as known side effects - they are now."

For Plaque Psoriasis "Over 20 years sufferer covering a huge percentage of my body. This was the first medication to EVER clear it completely. I know it doesn't work for everybody. Truly a miracle drug, and so thankful to have found it."

For Plaque Psoriasis "Plaque psoriasis started when I was 22 (13 years ago). Used steroid creams, but it got to where it covered so much of my body, it was impossible to treat - so I simply maintained. About 18 months ago, I finally decided to get a dermatologist. We started on Otezla, and after about 5 months, there was no more improvement (which was very little). After 1 year of Otezla, asked my derm about Cosentyx. We started that March 2018. After the first month of loading doses, I went from about 60% of my body clear to 75% clear. After my May dose, I am now almost 100% clear. It did leave behind discolored areas of skin where the larger plaques were, but that is slowly fading away with tanning and continued Cosentyx injections. Easy injectable pens and little to no side effects. Definitely worth considering."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Injection 1 caused a hive over my eyebrow, wasn't sure if it was a mosquito bite. Injection 2 caused hives all over my arms, back, leg, and my throat started to close. Antihistamines were taken BEFORE I injected, and the hives lasted 3 days! Please have antihistamines nearby."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I just took my injection yesterday, and I'm already seeing some improvement, so by mid-month, I should be clear. I'm feeling very hopeful. I've been dealing with this for over 20 years. I was on Humira, but as most of us know, your body gets immune. It did work, I was on it for maybe over 5 years. It did clear it up, but for the last couple of years, my body has resisted it."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I suffered with plaque and even worse, painful inverse psoriasis for over 40 years. Through the years, I've tried every prescription from ointments, sprays, and pills, all with mixed results. I started on Cosentyx, after 3 weeks, the inverse psoriasis was completely clear, and 6 weeks in, the plaques were gone. After 9 weeks, I am completely clear, head to toe. My 40-year battle is over."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Excited to be starting this biologic as the hospital team assured me it was really suitable for the effective treatment of my psoriatic arthropathy and psoriasis. By the fourth weekly injection, I had had two chest infections and the most horrible urinary tract infection. Three lots of antibiotics and a 7 lb. weight loss due to being so sick, I admitted defeat and didn't take the 5th dose. Admittedly, the arthropathy eased slightly during the injection period but this was more likely due to the enforced bed rest due to being so ill than to the effects of the Cosentyx. Goodbye Cosentyx. Going back to Arcoxia."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I was put on Cosentyx about five weeks ago. Before that, I was on Remicade. I had no blood sugar issues until now. Please, just for your safety, get your blood sugar checked. I had no issues on Remicade and went for a routine physical, and blood sugar was 500 mg, after fasting, it should be in the 100-112 range. It can cause big health issues. They are trying to figure it out now. I’ll keep you posted. I am not badmouthing the drug because I am grateful they are finding better treatment - I just think they should look into this. Search for this online and you will see."

For Plaque Psoriasis "Been on Cosentyx for almost a year. I was about 80% covered before starting and was 100% clear after the loading stage. But as of Mar 18, it came back with a fury. I'm now taking shots every 2 weeks to no avail. It's coming back like it never went away."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I have had psoriasis since I was about six months old, having to lay on a towel from being unable to wear diapers, breaking out in horrible burning rashes from almost anything scented. Years of being subjected to laser therapies, tar shampoos and soaps, oatmeal baths (oatmeal EVERYTHING...don't even get me started on Aveeno), all it does is smell good. I have tried vitamins, light therapy, other shots, medications, and nothing would get rid of the growing scaly red flaky patches on my scalp, forehead, ears, and elbows. Side effects I had itching for a few days, bruising from site injections, dizzy for about 30 minutes after the dose, but otherwise no complaints. This is a specialty drug. It has to be refrigerated, and you have to take two shots once a month, self-inject or have a family member do it, but they are sensory pens so not too hard or complicated."

For Plaque Psoriasis "It’s an amazing medicine. I’ve tried so many treatments for my psoriasis, and they would work only at the beginning. I’ve tried the ointments, the UV lights, the pills, and nothing was really good enough for me. Plus, they had bad side effects. But since I’ve started Cosentyx, my life got much better. I’m 99% cleared from psoriasis, with only a small side effect (running nose), which I consider is nothing compared to previous treatments. I’m so happy now, I feel like I’m a new person, just started living my life."

For Plaque Psoriasis "Started Cosentyx a year ago for 90% covered plaque psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Literally gave me my life back, joint pain gone, skin cleared up. Just received my artificial hip back on Cosentyx again, this drug gave me a life worth living again, thanks Cosentyx."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "Started secukinumab 4 weeks ago, and what a load of rubbish it is. I was told that it is a brilliant medication, which after researching it, it's not at all. Was on Enbrel for 12 years, and it worked very well till they put me on Benepali (etanercept in UK), then after 3 months back on Enbrel brand, which just didn't seem to work anymore, and now on secukinumab. I feel like rubbish, I've got mouth sores, and my stomach just feels sore and very bloated. Drs will prescribe you anything when they get bonuses from prescribing it. I'm gonna ring the hospital and tell them I wanna stop it and try something else, as I just want my life back."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I’m now 40, and I just started to have psoriasis at 36. I started Cosentyx in February, and it’s now May, and the plaques have lightened a lot but haven’t gone completely away. My biggest concern is that I’ve been actively working hard to lose weight since November and had lost close to 35 lbs when I started Cosentyx. I’ve been on a strict diet since November and an exercise program, working out 5 to 6 days a week since January. In February, I started the starter doses of 2 shots a week for 4 weeks of Cosentyx. I’ve gained the entire amount of weight back, mainly in my midsection, regardless of how much I try to lose. I’ve taken the monthly dose now for 2 months and keep gaining. I’ve talked to my dermatologist about it, and he just keeps referring to the company's claim it doesn’t cause weight gain. I disagree because that’s the only thing that’s changed in my regimen. I think I’m going to stop taking it. I’d deal with the psoriasis rather than keep gaining."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I had very mild psoriasis, it was mainly on the scalp and had 6 or 7 small lesions on different places on my body. I started Cosentyx 6 weeks ago. I started with a loading dose of 150 once a week for the first 2 weeks. I didn’t see any progress, and I was really frustrated, so I decided to increase the dose to 300 once a week after that. Within 2 weeks, I was 100% free. Now I take 300 every month as a maintenance dose, and I thank God every day for this medication."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I just started taking Cosentyx for plaque psoriasis. I took my 4 weeks of injection and now am on my once-a-month injection. I have cleared up but am still not sure what it will do taking only once a month. This is the trial period, but so far, so good. Every now and then, I still itch some, but nothing like before. No side effects, which is great because everything I tried before had side effects and I had to stop taking it. I felt so bad all the time, nausea was extreme."

For Plaque Psoriasis "50-year-old trial attorney with an exceptionally stressful job. Second year of law school, developed a few small spots. Lived with it for 20-plus years with only two large patches on both ankles, which I would cover up; one big spot on my left knee. While on vacation, severe case of strep throat. Started penicillin, cleared my strep throat up, and 4 days later, my entire body flared up. It was horrible. This never happened, ever before and was clearly caused by strep throat. Began first (nothing else) Cosentyx 300 mg. Just finished my 2nd dosage and starting 3rd Tuesday. It has 'slowly' helped. Itching is gone. The red patches have definitely reduced in their inflammation. I feel positive, but the jury is still out. I will give it more time and see what happens. Fortunately, insurance covered it after much fighting (and photographs of my body). First biologic ever as never needed it before. Some mild edema on both ankles but no 'major' side effects as of yet."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I just need to tell people if you have mild psoriasis, live with it, because if you take strong medication, later you will end up with your whole body covered with psoriasis. During my 30 years with psoriasis, I had a very small spot on my leg, and because I wanted it to disappear, I followed all kinds of medication, and now I am 90% covered with P. Anyway, this is my advice to new patients with mild or little, when it is little, it does not hurt. I know it looks bad, but live with it. It is a monster, when you have too much of it, you will wish you didn't start. I used to be on Enbrel, but it failed after many years. Now I have had 5 weeks of Cosentyx. The first 3 weeks I had so many spots, maybe 60% of my body, because I stopped Enbrel. I had so much pain and so much skin on my floor. After the 4 weeks, I feel better, little pain, very little skin shedding, but all the spots are not cleared yet. I hope it will be cleared in the next month. I will let you know. I put 5 stars because I am still starting."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Getting ready for my third 300 mg dose. I get nausea all the time. I just don't feel right. I have IBS and have been under control for some time. It has flared up now. I know it's just been three weeks, but my fingers are no better and very painful. If this continues after finishing the recommended dosing of 4 weeks, I'm not going to continue. Not worth it if you have to deal with all the side effects and still have pain."
