For Plaque Psoriasis "Seven years of severe guttate psoriasis is practically gone after one month on Cosentyx. I've tried creams, UVB lights, diets, etc., with limited success. This is truly a miracle drug and has given me my active life back. Bless the creators of this drug. I can't recommend enough!"

For Plaque Psoriasis "I have had plaque psoriasis for over 20 years, tried Otezla, methotrexate, creams, and lotions. Cosentyx has come to my rescue, it has cleared my skin, and I feel like a human being. For the first time in years, I can wear clothes with short sleeve shirts, there's no plaque on my face. I've only started this treatment, but it keeps improving my skin all the time. I have never been happier, I thought this could never happen, and it did. Clear skin does happen!"

For Plaque Psoriasis "I have had psoriasis for 35 years, tried herbal, steroids, quack diets, tablets, different ointments (except Daivonex cream), and nothing improved my condition. I have been on Cosentyx for four weeks, and my skin is already 75% clear."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Cleared up my plaque psoriasis about 95% -- could tell a difference after the first or second dose. Psoriatic arthritis pain has been significantly improved. Still some pain in the fingers, but that's probably just osteoarthritis. TMJ (PA related perhaps?) pain and jaw clicking went away completely. No side effects noted after 6 months (knock on wood)."

For Psoriasis "Experience is different for everyone. I started taking prefilled pen injections for over a year, and it is a miracle worker. I had severe psoriasis that affected my life and prevented me from being happy. It covered everywhere: legs, arms, head, etc. This medication my doctor gave made it ENTIRELY go away. No more constant creams, just once a month injections, and I'm free. The only side effect I have is getting respiratory sicknesses more often (which is to be expected and warned about). But nothing that I couldn't handle. The pros outweigh the cons by a lot, and I'm so thankful to the scientists and doctors that made this possible."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I would give this medication a 1/10 for PsA and 7/10 for psoriasis. My psoriasis was and has been fairly mild for some time, but within 6 weeks of taking Cosentyx I was all clear pretty much. I took the 5-week loading dose and 4 consecutive months following that and was forced to stop due to switching insurances and trying to get re-approved. I did not experience any improvement in my PsA symptoms and, in fact, would say that my general joint ache, stiffness, and pain were worse. Besides seeing no improvement in my primary complaint, I have had 4-5 week-long sinus infections, a thrush infection, and several days in between with general stomach upset I hadn’t had prior to starting this medication. In switching insurances, they wanted me to try Enbrel first prior to reordering Cosentyx for some reason. I will try that as I am curious to see the difference in effectiveness as well as side effects. I’ll also be taking Enbrel through the winter, which will give me a better idea."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I am on the 4th month of Cosentyx, and it may not work for some, but as of the second month, my skin was 90 percent clear. I just have scarring from where the rash was severe on my arms and legs. My two elbows have a pea-sized scale on it. Because I am getting the meds for free right now, I am worried about what will happen when I stop having it. I'm kinda sad about that. I felt like a hideous monster due to my psoriasis. I am going to have to see if I can find some kind of sponsorship so that I do not have a lapse in treatment, because what I am hearing is once you stop, it comes back bad. My dermatologist is amazed at how fast and clear it has worked on me."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "Nightmare with this drug. Prescribed it for AS but also suffer from ulcer colitis. Not only did it flare up my colitis, but also left me with peripheral joint swelling and pain. My joint pain had previously been extremely well controlled with Humira and Simponi until they lost efficacy. Humira was by far the best medication I have been on."

For Plaque Psoriasis "Have been on Cosentyx for almost a year and wondering if anyone else may have experienced vision problems after taking this drug? I am 43 years old and had an “eye stroke” called BRVO in one eye, which is very uncommon for someone my age. I also have a lot of eye twitching. My ALT and AST enzymes have also been elevated while taking Cosentyx. Thank you in advance for your feedback."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "So far I have done the 4 loading doses and one monthly dose of the Cosentyx. My body is killing me. Elbows are on fire, fingers are sore and swollen, all of my muscles are killing me. I am trying to give this med 3 months to work as that's what it states, but I'm having a real tough time. I feel like a truck hit me, backed up, and ran me over again. I tried Humira before, but that did nothing for me. I was on Remicade infusion, and that actually seemed to be working. Then I had my 4th infusion and ended up with the worst sinus and double ear infections I have ever had in my 55 years! Not to mention that after each infusion I came down with a small cold for a few days. So my Dr. put me on Cosentyx. He wants me to take 6mp with it, but I refuse as this is such a major anti-rejection drug. He doesn't want me to take methotrexate with the Cosentyx for fear of another infection, but I would rather take that than the 6mp. Hoping for the best!"

For Plaque Psoriasis "I've had plaque psoriasis for about 5 years now, had it on my scalp as a child and it laid dormant until I turned 30, then BOOM, covered in plaques all over. Was prescribed methotrexate originally in low doses, which helped but never got me clear. Then slowly my doses had to be increased just to keep me somewhat controlled. I begged my doctor to let me try the newer meds (biologics), he was old school and insisted we stick with the old drugs. I was given a referral to a new dermatologist, and thank God for him! Within the first week of my loading doses, my skin began to clear and also feel 'normal'. Those with psoriasis know how you feel it coming on just under the skin. I'm about to take my 4th loading dose, and all that's left is the red areas where my bad plaques were. Every time I shower and exfoliate, they get lighter and fade more and more. The only side effects I've had are feeling slightly jittery directly after my injection and feeling tired. To curb that, I take my shots at bedtime now."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Easy to use without injection pain at all. Had two pens that only injected 1/2 meds (replaced free). Very supportive customer service. 5 loading doses and one monthly dose. Itchy, flaky scalp is 90% improved. Actually, joint pain is worse. Sleeping 12-14 hrs/day and horrible vertigo to passing out and falling on my face. Hoping for some joint pain relief soon."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Have been on Cosentyx monthly, along with methotrexate weekly, going on two years for psoriatic arthritis. After about a year, my finger joint pain, stiffness, and swelling seemed to lessen quite a bit to the point where I didn’t need to take an anti-inflammatory on a regular basis. A couple of months ago, I experienced a very bad flare-up, which seems to be getting worse. Also, a recent X-ray of my hands shows increased joint damage, which leaves me to wonder if the Cosentyx is actually working. My rheumatologist wants to double the Cosentyx dose to see if it makes a difference before she starts me on Humira. I’m wondering if Humira is consistently more effective for PSA than Cosentyx?"

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "In January, I felt that Enbrel stopped working for me after years of great relief. Doctor started me on Cosentyx. I have taken the 5 doses of the loading dose and feel horrible! Diarrhea, irritable bowel, terrible mouth sores, light-headed, and general malaise. I never had bowel issues before this. Doctor wants me to give it more time (I'm due for an injection this week), but the side effects have thrown my life into a tailspin! I want my Enbrel life back, this is no way to live. I have to plan my work around access to a bathroom in a hurry, and I speak funny because the sores all over my tongue hurt while speaking."

For Non-Radiographic Axial Spondyloarthritis "I am a 65-year-old white female. I was diagnosed with nonradiographic axial spondyloarthritis two years ago after experiencing both peripheral and axial arthritis symptoms and enthesitis. I was first prescribed Cimzia in 2019 and was on this drug for 9 weeks with slight improvement in my back but then began having worsening of symptoms in my feet, ankles, and hips. After six months off any medication, I tried Cosentyx. There was no improvement in my symptoms and in the 11th week (6 shots total), I again experienced a worsening of my symptoms in my SI joints and my feet and ankles, with acute pain from plantar fasciitis and milder Achilles tendonitis. I am waiting for this flare reaction to the drug to subside before trying Enbrel. Hope and pray the third biologic is the charm."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I've had psoriasis for 50 years and have had several treatments, including Humira, methotrexate, and many others. I was on Humira for 3 years, and it helped a little. My doctor suggested I try Cosentyx, and after the first dose (300 mg), my psoriasis cleared up by 70%! Unbelievable! It's been 4 weeks now, and it's 95% clear! So far, no side effects!"

For Plaque Psoriasis "I've been taking Cosentyx for just shy of a year, and my psoriasis has gotten way worse. The itching is something I never had to deal with, and it has spread. The sinus troubles are horrible. I've been on so many, I'm not sure if anything is going to help."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "One week after the 5th loading dose of 300 mg, my lips swelled to twice their normal size, became itchy, and then erupted in blisters. My gums became sore, itchy, and throbbing. I got a very red eye and began having itching on various other body parts, starting with my toes."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "After trying every possible NSAID over the past ten years, I was on prednisone for almost a year before that stopped working as well. I was always reluctant to give biologics a try, but then I could not live with the pain anymore. Cosentyx is the first one I tried, and I started feeling better within 2 weeks of the first injection. I am now on it for 10 months and have to say it gave me my life back. I have no pain, and I am doing sports again I thought I never could anymore. I am so happy with it."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "I've never been so disappointed by the results of something in my life. Since switching to Cosentyx, my ankylosing spondylitis symptoms have worsened x 10. I have no movement in my neck, constantly taking painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs besides taking Cosentyx itself. I haven't felt this much pain in my entire life, it should seriously be discontinued. All this drug is, is a false hope."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "My husband switched rheumatologists, and the new doc felt Remicade was no longer controlling his AS as his C-spine has started to fuse. After 3 months of talking up the benefits of Cosentyx, my husband made the switch. Worse decision ever. Quality of life is horrible, he lives in his recliner once again. Back pain severe. Joints swollen, which never happened before. And the worst part, 3 bouts of upper respiratory infections, the last one is now pneumonia. Doc says at first not the Cosentyx...but it's a side effect, I say. Duh. Very disappointed. Hope he can restart Remicade."
