For Plaque Psoriasis "7 years of severe guttate psoriasis is practically gone after 1 month on Cosentyx. I've tried creams, UVb lights, diets etc with limited success. This is truly a miracle drug and has given me my active life back. Bless the creators of this drug. I can't recommend enough!"

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I am not sure yet if it is coincident or not, but shortly after starting Cosentyx, I experienced extreme pain while urinating to the point of even passing blood. I was taken off the medication for approximately 2 months for other medical issue including UTI and started seeing a slight improvement. (at this time we didn't consider that this could be a side effect) I was given the start up dose again because of the gap in treatment and by 3rd shot (start up dose) I was experiencing extreme pain again. I have been taken off the medication again to see if the bladder pain will improve. Not thinking what I am experiencing is worth taking the medication. While on the medication I do not feel there was any improvement to the arthritis pain."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I've had psoriasis for 50 years and have had several treatments including Humira, methotrexate, and many others. I was on Humira for 3 years and it help a little. My doctor suggested I try cosentyx and after the first dose (300 mg) my psoriasis cleared up by 70%! Unbelieveable! It's been 4 weeks now and it's 95% clear! So far, no side effects!"

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "I've never been so disappointed by the results of something in my life. Since switching to Cosentyx my ankylosing spondylitis symptoms have worsened x 10. I have no movement in my neck, constantly eating pain killers and anti inflammatory drugs besides taking Cosentyx itself. I haven't felt this much pain in my entire life, should seriously be discontinued, all this drug is, is a false hope"

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "Started secukinaumab 4 weeks ago and what a load of rubbish it is. I was told that it is a brilliant medication which after researching it its not at all. Was on Enbrel for 12 years and it worked very well till they put me on Benepali (etanercept in UK) then after 3 months back on Enbrel brand which just didn't seem to work anymore and now on secukinaumab. I feel like rubbish, I've got mouth sores and stomach just feels sore and very bloated. Drs will prescribed you anything when they get bonuses from prescribing it. I'm gonna ring the hospital and tell them I wanna stop it and try something else as I just want my life back."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "Nightmare with this drug. Prescribed it for AS but also suffer from ulcer colitis. Not only did it flare up my colitis but also left me with peripheral joint swelling and pain. My joint pain had previously been extremely well controlled with Humira and Simponi until they lost efficacy. Humira was by far the best medication I have been on."

For Psoriasis "Tried this for rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, severe psoriasis. Initially got worse, especially psoriasis. After 3 injections I started to feel better, psoriasis was going away. Only side effect was minor nausea. After a few months my psoriasis cleared up completely. Psoriasis that covered over 80% of my body. Gone. Then the issues. Joint pain, severe fatigue set in. I'm not sure if fatigue was med related or disease related. After not tolerating pain, after 6 months I was off the drug on to the next. I have been on remicade, humara, cosentyx, simponi aria, and now cimzia. Remicade was by far the best but after many years I developed antibodies. All these drugs failed. I'm now on cimzia we will see... All biologics work different for people! Remember that! What may work for you may not work for others. If you had side effects that doesn't others will. If you have psoriasis-psoriatic arthritis, I would skip everything and try cosentyx."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I have had plaque psoriasis for over 20 years tried otezla, methotrexate creams and lotions. Cosentyx has come to my rescue it has cleared my skin and I feel like a human being. For the first time in years I can wear clothes with short sleeve shirts there's no plaque on my face. I've only started this treatment but it keeps improving my skin all the time. I have never been happier I thought this could never happen and it did clear skin does happen!"

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Cleared up my plaque psoriasis about 95% -- could tell a difference after after first or second dose. Psoriatic arthritis pain has been significantly improved. Still some pain the fingers, but that's probably just osteoarthritis. TMJ (PA related perhaps?) pain and jaw clicking went away completely. No side effects noted after 6 months (knock on wood)."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I've been taking Cosentyx for just shy of a year and my psoriasis has gotten way worse. The itching is something I never had to deal with and it has spread. The sinus troubles are horrible. I've been on so many, I'm not sure if anything is going to help."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I've had plaque psoriasis for about 5 years now, had it on my scalp as a child and it laid dormant until I turned 30 then BOOM covered in plaques all over. Was prescribed methotrexate originally in low doses which helped but never got me clear. Then slowly my doses had to be increased just to keep me somewhat controlled. I begged my Dr to let me try the newer meds (biologics), he was old school and insisted we stick with the old drugs. I was given a referral to a new dermatologist and thank God for him! Within the first week of my loading doses, my skin began to clear and also feel "normal". Those with psoriasis know how you feel it coming on just under the skin. I'm about to take my 4th loading dose and all that's left is the red areas where my bad plaques were. Every time I shower and exfoliate, they get lighter and fade more and more. The only side effects I've had are feeling slightly jittery directly after my injection and feeling tired. To curb that, I take my shots at bedtime now."

For Plaque Psoriasis "Have been on Cosentyx for almost a year and wondering if anyone else may have experienced vision problems after taking this drug? I am 43 years old and had an “eye stroke” called BRVO in one eye, which is very uncommon for someone my age. I also have a lot of eye twitching. My ALT & AST enzymes have also been elevated while taking Cosentyx. Thank you in advance for your feedback."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I would give this medication a 1/10 for PsA and 7/10 for psoriasis. My psoriasis was and has been fairly mild for some time but within 6 weeks of taking cosentyx I was all clear pretty much. I took the 5 week loading dose and 4 consecutive months following that and was forced to stop due to switching insurances and trying to get re-approved. I did not experience any improvement in my PsA symptoms and in fact would say that my general joint ache, stiffness and pain was worse. Besides seeing no improvement in my primary complaint, I have had 4-5 week long sinus infections, a thrush infection and several days in between with general stomach upset I hadn’t had prior to starting this medication. In switching insurances, they wanted me to try Enbrel first prior to re-ordering cosentyx for some reason. I will try that as I am curious to see the difference in effectiveness as well as side effects. I’ll also be taking Enbrel through the winter which will give me a better idea."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "So far I have done the 4 loading doses and one monthly dose of the Cosentyx. My body is killing me. Elbows are on fire, fingers are sore and swollen, all of my muscles are killing me. I am trying to give this med 3 months to work as that's what it states, but I'm having a real tough time. I feel like a truck hit me, backed up, and ran me over again. I tried Humira before but that did nothing for me. I was on Remicade infusion and that actually seemed to be working. Then I had my 4th infusion and ended up with the worst sinus and double ear infections I have ever had in my 55 years! Not to mention that after each infusion I came down with a small cold for a few days. So my Dr put me on Cosentyx. He wants me to take 6mp with it but I refuse as this is such a major anti-rejection drug. He doesn't want me to take methotrexate with the Cosentyx for fear of another infection but I would rather take that than the 6mp. Hoping for the best!"

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Have been on Cosentyx, monthly, along with methotrexate, weekly, going on two years for psoriatic arthritis. After about a year, my finger joint pain, stiffness and swelling seemed to lessen quite a bit to the point where I didn’t need to take an anti inflammatory on a regular basis. A couple of months ago I experienced a very bad flare up which seems to be getting worse. Also a recent X-ray of my hands shows increased joint damage, which leaves me to wonder if the Cosentyx is actually working. My Rheumatologist wants to double the Cosentyx dose to see if it makes a difference before she starts me on Humira. I’m wondering if Humira is consistently more effective for PSA than Cosentyx?"

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "In January I felt that Enbrel stopped working for me after years of great relief. Doctor started me on Cosentyx, I have taken the 5 doses of the loading dose and feel horrible! Diarrhea, irritable bowel, terrible mouth sores, light headed, and general malaise. I never had bowel issues before this. Doctor wants me to give it more time (I'm due for an injection this week) but the side effects have thrown my life into a tailspin! I want my Enbrel life back, this is no way to live. I have to plan my work around access to a bathroom in a hurry and I speak funny because the sores all over my tongue hurt while speaking."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "After trying every possible NSAID over the past ten years I was on prednisone for almost a year before that stopped working as well. I was always reluctant to give biological a try but then could not live with the pain anymore. Cosentyx is the first one I tried and I started feeling better within 2 weeks of first injection. I am now on it for 10 months and have to say it gave me life back. I have no pain and I am doing sports again I thought I never could anymore. I am so happy with it."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I have had psoriasis since I was about six months old, having to lay on a towel from being unable to wear diapers, breaking out in horrible burning rashes from almost anything scented. Years of being subjected to laser therapies, tar shampoos and soaps, oatmeal baths( oatmeal EVERYTHING....don't even get me started on aveeno), all it does is smell good. I have tried vitamins, light therapy, other shots, medications, and nothing would get rid of the growing scaly red flaky patches on my scalp, forehead, ears, and elbows. Side effects I had itching for a few days, bruising from site injections, dizzy for about 30 minuted after dose, but otherwise no complaints. This is a specialty drug. It has to be refrigerated and you have to take two shots once a month, self inject or have a family member do it but they are sensory pens so not too hard or complicated."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I've had psoriasis since I was 5 yrs old the moderate to severe form of them. I developed Psoriatic Arthritis on top of my already moderate to severe psoriasis after being abruptly removed from Stelara in 2016 when I was diagnoised with thyroid cancer. After I had the thyroidectomy I developed Psoriatic Arthritis Flare its believed to have been brought on by Endocrinologist abruptly stopping my Stelara injections (most doctors don't understand biologic medication). I started Cosentyx Sept 2018 and I have been 100% clear ever since self injecting is easy peasy 30 minutes on counter top and couple minutes under my arm pit (yup) no pain only mild bruising. I have to say for me Cosentyx has not been a miracle for my psoriatic arthritis flare that has been on going now for 2.5 yrs attacking my tendons and now knees. This disease stinks and has left me house bound alot...awful. Remember all magic comes with a price!"
