For Schizophrenia "Very good drug! It took around two months to have an effect, but once it did, I was happy to be alive again. I have almost complete remission! Risperidone is moderate on weight gain, and while I did put on 10 kg, I was able to lose almost all of it. It does make me quite tired, but I can manage with a few cups of coffee. It has raised my prolactin quite a bit, but no lactation or breast growth. I have noticed that my period is lighter and my cycles shorter, but I'm not 100% sure it's correlated, just thought I'd put it out there. While the drug has decreased my libido, I can still experience desire, it's just harder for me to be turned on. Overall, I think this drug saved me because I would probably have tried to commit suicide if I had stayed psychotic, so I am extremely thankful for Risperidone. Furthermore, my uncle has been on this drug for 30 years, and he also has almost complete remission and leads a very fulfilling life."

For Borderline Personality Disorder "At first, it was great, but then I started getting more anxious and tired that I fell asleep on a public bus! I also have cystic acne now that I never had before… so now I’m dealing with that. It did help me with my eating disorder by making me an appropriate weight, but I seemed off the meds because I knew the long-term side effects were too much. 5/10."

For Schizophrenia "I started this drug 3 years ago for my paranoia and anger issues. Overall, it's good except for the weight gain. I started at 125 lb and I am 145 lb. I take 1 mg because taking 2 mg made me really tired, but going down on the dose works best in combination with Lamictal and Prozac. I've tried other medicines, but these work well together."

For Bipolar Disorder "After taking quetiapine for 2 years, changed psychiatrist who changed the medicine to Sizodon, working well. The quetiapine was giving pain in joints and more lethargy than this one. Find this is better."

For Borderline Personality Disorder "Risperidone made me feel out of it and tired all the time. I would find myself drooling. I would fall asleep unintentionally. I gained like 30 lbs too. That was it for me."

For Schizophrenia "Made the voices (audible hallucinations) go away after 4 weeks, which returned my life back to normal. But it made it impossible to get an erection. Also made me more sleepy and tired than usual."

For Tic Disorder "Risperidone gave me awful weight gain side effects, made me tired all the time, all on a tiny dose. Made my Tourette's way worse. Can't imagine how bad it would be on a bigger dose. Not worth it."

For Autism "Didn't help me at all. I was still upset all the time. I was just too exhausted to get out of bed, much less put up a fight about how much my clothes itched or how bright the lights were."

For Schizophrenia "This is a great medicine. I've been taking it for a couple of weeks now, and my hallucinations have almost completely gone away. It does make you a little tired at first, though."

For Bipolar Disorder "Pro: seems to have completely eliminated my psychosis, which had been intense and long-lasting. Cons: weight gain and increased prolactin levels, leading to sluggishness, impotence, premature ejaculation, and general sexual dysfunction. Made me feel weak and lethargic and fat. Was on a dose of 5 mg and am now down to 1.5, but I'm still not comfortable taking this med. I don't want sexual side effects or weight gain or elevated prolactin. For that reason, I'm thinking I'll have to switch to Abilify. Overall, I'm not a fan of risperidone, even though it works so well for me in that I have no psychosis."
