For Bipolar Disorder "I have either bipolar II or PDD, diagnosis unclear. I've been taking risperidone for a month. For the first 2 weeks, 0.5 mg, and recently, 1 mg. The past few days I notice an increase in exhaustion/hypersomnia, increased appetite, and just today, everything tastes terrible. I am trying to see if it helps splitting my dose morning/night or taking the full mg in the evening. This drug was mostly side effect-free up until very recently."

For Borderline Personality Disorder "I have been taking Risperidone for about three years now. Pros - Helps maintain level mood, no manic episodes or mania, slightly sedative. Cons - Weight gain/appetite increase (I gained over 50 pounds in about two years), sleep eating, muted positive moods. As someone who has struggled with severe anger and rage, Risperidone is a godsend. I am the most stable I have ever been, with healthy relationships and a stable career. I did get fat in the process, but I'd rather be fat and stable than unmedicated and wacko."

For Schizophrenia "Definitely contributed to stopping an ongoing psychosis in my case. So that is good. However, the doses have a significant sedative effect that can easily change your life. Potentially, the appetite increase that lasts for the first month can also cause some problems with weight gain. The worst was the drug did contribute to temporary sterilization (zero secretion of absolutely anything during orgasm, apparently as a result of the effect on my prolactin levels, this lasted until I switched meds)."

For Post Traumatic Stress Disorder "It has helped me. I can think more clearly, but the side effect of my appetite is definitely increased. I already need to cut back."

For Borderline Personality Disorder "Worst drug I've ever been on. It increased my appetite a lot, I was like an addict of food. It made me more depressed and anxious. I stopped taking it a week after."

For Autism "Didn’t like it at all, at the start, I just couldn’t stop eating, even though this is something I usually have perfect control over. Also made my mind stutter like an old Walkman tape."

For Depression "Horrible drug. Could not get out of bed. Very dizzy. Felt hungry all the time. I would give this drug a -10 out of 10."

For Bipolar Disorder "It made me super restless without Cogentin, and also very hungry. I was always wanting to eat. However, it helped my psychosis and gave me good sleep. I only got off of it because it made me start lactating."
