Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "3rd routine colonoscopy. Received this product from Kroger pharmacy. This was by far the worst prep experience. Lemon flavor okay, getting it down okay, but esophagitis all night, bloating, pain, nausea, vomiting x 8 with pink color. I did not vomit until after all prep down. The clean out was good. I never had this with prior."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "Awful taste, had to make a conscious effort to keep it down. Worked a little too well, took first liter and within 1 hour was only passing liquid. When it came to the second liter, it started working within 5 minutes, passed only liquid. Could not leave the throne for a good 2 hours with both liters, started bleeding from back passage after second liter due to the prolonged violent cleanings, very painful. Hope I never see any more of this stuff."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "I’m a 27-year-old female, and this is my third colonoscopy prep. I did well with the first dose, but I threw up the second dose within 30 minutes of taking it as instructed. The only negative I will say is that I had pretty significant discomfort after the second or third trip to the bathroom. With previous preps, the hemorrhoids/pain didn’t start until I was at the very end of the prep, but I was near tears after bathroom trip 3. I also had some pretty significant leakage in between trips to the toilet that I hadn’t ever experienced with other preps. The cost is OUTRAGEOUS. With insurance, my copay was $154. My doctor’s office was able to call in a discount code/coupon, but it was still $50 for the kit. I’m not really going to comment on the taste of these products because, well, I’m not sure what people expect from a product made to clean out your intestinal tract. Neither packet tasted great, but that’s to be expected. Overall, it worked, but it was not pleasant."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "The worst medical experience of my life, and it’s not over. 4th colonoscopy, and whilst the prep part is never going to be a joyful experience, this time I am in the hospital, so I felt it would be less worrying and more straightforward. Wrong, very wrong. The taste was a warning, followed by a certain rumbling, then suddenly the most violent and painful abdominal spasm I’ve ever had. But nothing came out. More grog, more spasms, eventually something emerged, and I was soon plastered in it. I feel so sorry for my nurse that night. This was still continuing when it was time to start the second dose. By this time, I was in so much pain and exhaustion I was barely coherent, and when I eventually reached the endoscope, I pooped, invalidating the procedure, and the machine had to be given a deep cleanse. Never, ever again."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "Had colonoscopy 10 days ago, 2 liters of MoviPrep didn’t work. It had a nice strong lemony flavor, took the first liter between 1 pm & 2 pm, plus a liter of water. No bowel movement, felt nauseous, headache, body hurt, dizziness, and couldn’t relax. Second between 5 pm & 6:30 pm with a liter of water. I was bloated, regurgitating, pain. No bowel movement by 11 pm, all fours position alleviated some pain. Hot herbal tea & 1/2 hour of meditation on the loo, slowly it began to happen. Not explosive or often, but up all night with wet wind. Procedure was at 1:40 pm & not cleared out enough. Second colonoscopy on Saturday, I have three liters of MoviPrep. Had low-fiber diet all week. I normally take laxatives nightly, which take a lot longer than it says on the box! My history is chronic slow transition & rectocele. Hopefully, this time it works."

For Bowel Preparation "This was awful. I was given cheaper Gavilyte N and thought I'd handle it well. No. After six glasses, I started gagging on the stuff, then I lay screaming and crying in pain on the floor for an hour after I was supposed to see effects. I was in agony. I am giving this a two instead of a one because, after way too long, my system did start clearing out. Not worth it. I'm still in pain a day later. I had to use something else to finish bowl prep because my body was rejecting it."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "The taste is vile, even mixing it with squash did not help that. It took effect straight away, though, but I only managed a pint and a half before I was gagging non-stop. However, this could be because I did not drink the required amount of water between doses. Either way, they said it cleared me out enough for them to see, so it was not an issue. Kind of hoping the effects will stop soon, though, as I have been so many times yesterday and today, and I am still in a lot of pain with it."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "This is the nastiest tasting medicine they could give me. This is the only product they can give me because the magnesium citrate they normally want you to take was pulled from sales because of some kind of contamination in June 2022. It is now January 2023, and they tell me that the company that produces magnesium citrate, Vi-Jon LLC, was shut down and is no longer made. I refused to take this stuff because the last time I was prescribed it, I couldn't get through 1/4 of this junk, even that much gave me cramps and what felt like dry heaves of the bowels. I can't believe there is no one out there that can make a much better product. I had to clean myself out for surgery by not eating 48 hours before, only clear liquids, another laxative, and an enema. Even all that was better than this GoLYTELY crap. The cramps and pain from this stuff were the worst I've had. I was in the military the first time I took this stuff, so there was no charge for this Rx. But I will never take this again."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "This was my first colonoscopy, and my GI specialist prescribed Plenvu. Here are my thoughts and results: Overall experience: positive. Colonoscopy was scheduled for 8:15 am today, so I was instructed by my GI specialist to take the first dose at noon 1/2 and the second dose at midnight 1/2. Dose 1: Flavor was a stretch; had Alka-Seltzer consistency. I just sipped and was okay. Took 90 minutes to kick in and spent no more than 15 min each time in the bathroom. Wore off about 9 hrs. 2nd dose was awful... powered through the dose. The flavor was truly awful. It kicked in after an hour and finished the job, then wore off after 5 hours. Best advice is to follow the directions the doc gives to the LETTER. Use a straw on the second dose. Overall experience was positive - have to consider the sole purpose is to clean your colon out so the colonoscopy is successful. Can't give it a 10 due to the flavor, but it did what it was supposed to do with minimal cramping and no pain whatsoever."

For Bowel Preparation "This prep was horrible tasting, made me sick to my stomach, and I am still experiencing pain from the aftereffects still a week later. The dry solution in the bottom gallon bottle took much longer to dissolve than an over-the-counter prep that I have used 3-4 times without any incident. The prep did not clean me out completely, and the doctors were ignorant of these side effects."

For Bowel Preparation "It tastes okay. The problem comes after. I have been drinking this for 2 hours and have had no bowel movement, but I have a lot of pain, it is gut-wrenching. My husband went to get me a laxative."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "This stuff is great! It wasn't so much the taste that was bad, more the salty consistency! I drank mine with a straw over 7 hours, and that seemed to do the trick! I started pooping after exactly an hour and didn't stop until 11 pm (I started at 2 pm). I was nice and cleared out, and they said I had a 'good colonoscopy.' The only problem I have now is that it's the next day, and food is going straight through me still, mixed with bright yellow bile, and it's so painful! This stuff has more or less left me incontinent the day after! Just hoping the diarrhea stops soon because 2 days of pooping out pure watery movements is more than enough for me!"
