For Bowel Preparation "I was dreading taking this medication after reading some reviews about the taste, etc. Well, I can only speak for myself, but I found it fine, like slightly salty lemonade. I made it up about 30 mins before taking and chilled it in the fridge. As for effectiveness, well, within 30 mins I was making myself comfortable on the throne and am well and truly welded to the spot. At first, the movements were preceded by a short gurgle of the bowels, then all hell broke loose, and what I can only describe as a 'gush' of fluid came out. Initially, there were some solids, however, now just fluid, currently every 10 minutes. I am due to take the 2nd liter in the morning and will report back if I have a different experience. Took the 1st dose at 6 pm - drank in 15 mins."

For Bowel Preparation "This is not the nightmare many are making it out to be. No cramps or nausea. Tastes like a lime drink with a bit thicker texture. It is a bit salty, but that's to help you not get dehydrated when the show starts. Fast-acting and extremely effective. I may just make this a routine patio drink."

For Bowel Preparation "I was absolutely dreading taking this. I have a huge fear of having to take any pills or medicines, which is why I won't be having the sedation tomorrow for the colonoscopy - wish me luck. Anyhow, I braved it and started taking the first liter at 6:30. Nothing happened until 8, and I thought it wasn't going to work, but now it seems to have started :/ Similar experience to others, but no cramps thankfully - I'm just going to take the last half glass - it's now 8:15. It's fine. I paced it - drank a glass straight down about every 20 minutes and had a full glass of water in between. If I'm not up all night pooping, I'll be up all night peeing! It's not bad, and you can't taste it if you drink the glass quickly - good luck MoviPrepers."

For Bowel Preparation "Took this for a colonoscopy prep. I have ulcerative colitis, I've had it for 17 years (I'm 22, will be 23 this month), so I'm a veteran when it comes to colonoscopies and bowel preps. I tried Plenvu once before when I was in high school. This time, at 22, was an absolute nightmare. The first dose was the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted. If I could vividly describe it, it would have to be: someone poured an expired, flat Fanta into a puddle in the back of a parking lot. And now you're drinking it. Struggled not to barf but managed to get through. Had many, many gallons of fluid and stuff pour out of me for the next 4 hours. Had to get up at 4 for the second dose - that dose was awful. It tasted slightly better. I literally held the solution down for 30 minutes before violently barfing it up. Today, after the colonoscopy, still diarrhea and bad, sharp cramps until 3 pm. Then at 5 am, I was woken up with severe cramps on top of constant diarrhea."

For Bowel Preparation "I was prescribed GaviLyte-G with electrolytes for bowel prep before a colonoscopy. While it seems like it would be hard to chug down a gallon of laxative, it wasn't that bad. I mixed it up with the lemon flavor packet and put it in the fridge the morning before I was going to use it. That evening, I started drinking it. I simply poured 8 ounces in a cup and drank it every 15 minutes. The taste was not bad at all. It wasn't thick or gritty like some people have described. I had no nausea or cramps at all whatsoever. I just simply had diarrhea for most of the night. Side note: The colonoscopy procedure was a breeze as well. The only complication I may have had due to the prep was very high blood pressure at the time of the procedure, which I had to receive beta blockers in my IV for. My blood pressure was the highest I've ever seen it. (I also have hypertension and take 2 blood pressure medications. Maybe they weren't absorbed due to the prep.)"

For Bowel Preparation "Easy to put this product in perspective if you've had lots of colonoscopies. Get them every 1-2 years since young adulthood. I have issues with the ones that contain vast amounts of liquid; not yummy either, and I have more nausea because too much liquid too fast. This product, by far the best I've used, also prefer to the OTC method. The smell is lemon, like lemon cleaning products. Don't sit smelling before; just drink it. It tastes of salty lemon Gatorade, so don't use lemon Gatorade as your extra liquid. With this stuff, I had fewer cramps, one of the easiest to take, and cleaned me out great. Side note makes the process easier and cleaner: stop eating seeded food (and nuts) another 24 hours before the diet starts; anything with seeds, including berries and certain veggies (carbs and protein are good)."

For Bowel Preparation "This is my 2nd colonoscopy in 3 years. The first prep I used made me feel very ill, so I was looking forward to trying MoviPrep. It took 2 hours from the completion of drinking it for it to cause any motion. It gave me slight gurgling and cramping, but nothing like when you have a stomach virus. I took the 2nd part of it at 2:30 a.m., and it caused me to have motion almost immediately. I was worried that I wouldn't make it to the appointment without having to stop at a bathroom on the way, but I didn't. I was also worried because I never got to the point of clear stools. I told my doctor this when I arrived for the appointment. The doctor ended up telling me that she saw everything fine."

For Bowel Preparation "Expected it to taste awful. Chilled it and had a straw, but honestly, I didn't mind the taste. Started working the first time within the hour. A bit crampy, bloating as expected, but nothing to worry about. Wasn't explosive, just watery, but I limited my diet for a few days before too. On the second dose now, more discomfort, but I'm empty already. Drank this one a bit faster, within the hour. Vaseline on the area from before you start and toilet wipes are key. I have a fissure, so I'm extra careful, get off the loo quickly and then just wander around with no pants on till the next time. Every few minutes for me for about 90 minutes. Having IBS, this isn't a new experience, though."

For Bowel Preparation "I have my first colonoscopy tomorrow, and I have been given MoviPrep. Couldn't eat all day, which is the worst bit! Had my first dose at 5 pm, things started moving 1 hour 30 mins after. Started the second dose at 8 pm, which I am still trying to get down now (11 pm) as it is just making me gag! However, it is doing what it is meant to do, so fingers crossed tomorrow goes well! I have just been drinking it with orange squash, which helps a little. Suffered from some bloating, tummy rumbles, and cramps, but it was nothing I hadn't dealt with before."

For Bowel Preparation "Used as instructed - two days low fiber diet, then 2 liters taken over four hours starting at 5 pm the night before my procedure, plus 1 liter of other clear fluids. Hated the artificial sweetener in this as can't stand even small amounts of aspartame in anything, and this is aspartame overload! Sheer volume of liquid was very difficult as I never drink cold drinks or squash, and the sickly sweetness made me gag. Only managed it by washing each glassful down with black coffee or tea and then finishing off with just water. Felt relieved to get it all down and then waited for two hours (totally bloated and with mild cramps) for it to work, and then the next three hours visiting the loo. For me, that was difficult as I normally go to bed early, but it did the job it was meant to do. If I had to have bowel prep again, I would ask for something else where there was less liquid to drink. Would prefer something without that awful cloying sweetness like perhaps aniseed!!"

For Bowel Preparation "I found this better than any prep I have had before. Ok, so it was 20 years ago. A lot has changed. I have only had my first prep, had it at 6 p.m. I mixed in lukewarm filtered water at 4 p.m. and let it sit in the fridge to chill. Well, it started working within 20 minutes. I found the taste fine and was pretty much determined to drink within 30 mins and drank the recommended water in between. Probably sat on the toilet 10 times within 2 hours. Slight cramping before it kicked in. A little concerned with the color. However, I feel confident the 2nd prep at 7 a.m. tomorrow will help with that. I was mindful of my eating for the last 3 days and followed their recommendations, which are food groups I generally never eat. Wish you good results!"

For Bowel Preparation "Drank the first liter of stuff, tasted like Alka-Seltzer, waited 2 hours and it started, the cleansing began. Sat on the toilet for 10 minutes for the first round, scared to rise up because I'll be coming back, going to start the second liter, tasted worse, minor bloat and cramp. Done with the second liter, slow flushing system, don't know how many more trips to the loo, hope all goes well tomorrow."

For Bowel Preparation "By far the best bowel prep I've ever used. Almost went to emergency the last time using another product due to severe cramping and pain. This time I used Bi-Peglyte 2 liters. The day prior, I ate a soft diet only. Only took one of the pre-night pills due to the fact I always have a bowel movement in the mornings anyway. Tastes awful, but just quickly guzzled it every 20 minutes. Very gentle with zero pain discomfort. Was dreading it, but it turned out to be a breeze. A+."

For Bowel Preparation "Mine was done over two days. The first dose left me feeling bloated, cramping. The next morning, I did three quarters of it, and it was all over. I vomited so hard, along with chills, shaking, and just a phone call away from 911. Did its job though."

For Bowel Preparation "38 years old. I had a colonoscopy (my 4th) two and a half weeks ago and thought the MoviPrep was quite vile with its lemon taste. I think I prefer the previous salt-tasting solutions. The taste and prep weren't the problem, though. On the morning of my colonoscopy, my bowel movement appeared 'clear', however, when I saw the doctor after, he said the prep 'wasn't great.' I took it exactly as directed and am concerned that the quality isn't as good as the previous preparations I've used. Having worked in theater for colonoscopies, I know how important a good prep is and was extremely disappointed in the effect of this one. The worst thing, however, is that I've had severe abdominal cramps with horrific diarrhea since, with only a 3-day reprieve."

For Bowel Preparation "GoLYTELY is poison, it destroyed my colon and my life. I'm still suffering horribly three months after taking GoLYTELY before a colonoscopy. Had to go to the emergency room, painkillers prescribed. They still cannot diagnose what happened. Horrible cramping, still unable to exert myself without intense pain. Life has deteriorated to either lying in bed constantly or in bed. Can barely be mobile for more than 30 minutes. DO NOT TAKE, it is poison."

For Bowel Preparation "I think if you prepare your diet well the week leading up to your prep, you should be fine. Make sure you are hydrated and somewhat regular in the days prior. I found the taste fine when put in the fridge. Yeah, it's not my choice of beverage, but certainly is not repulsive, as a lot of these comments suggest. I had no issues taking the whole solution while chasing it with sips of Gatorade. I mixed the sachet into a 700ml mixer bottle, so there was less to drink overall and chased it with little sips of Gatorade. Since I'm a slow drinker, I started maybe an hour early and finished it over 1.5-2 hours while watching TV. Didn't feel bloated or have any cramping, but everyone is different, I guess. Felt some bubble guts after about 40 minutes and started to poop. Don't trust any farts after drinking bowel prep, lol. My stool was pretty much clear after the first prep and only ended up using about 2/3 of the second one later. Not scary at all, would recommend it."

"Filled the jug with water and put it in the refrigerator overnight. This stuff tastes terrible. My instruction sheet said that I could add a packet of Crystal Light lemon flavor to it to make it palatable. It didn't. I downed the first half of it in two hours, taking doses every 15 minutes. By the time the 8th glass came, I was ready to gag. The second half, which I started at 3 a.m., I got as far as the 5th glass, and I was ready to barf and said to myself that enough was enough. Luckily for me, my movements were all clear and just yellow. The one thing about it was that it did what it was intended for, and I got the urge to go a lot but with no cramping whatsoever. If I have to do this over again in the future, I will refuse to do it. The aftertaste that it left on my tongue was barf-inducing."

For Bowel Preparation "I took MoviPrep last week, which has given me abdominal cramps, nausea, chills, and shivering. It's almost a week since I have taken MoviPrep, and today after eating my food, I am still getting abdominal cramps, chills, shivers, and nausea. I hope this is not permanent damage!"

For Bowel Preparation "I wished I hadn't visited this page before taking the MoviPrep because I had no worries until I saw the bad experiences. I have emetophobia and saw others having chills and cramps, which were the symptoms of some of my worst bouts of digestive distress. I am delighted to say the only unpleasant thing I experienced was trying to get so much liquid down, because my wife mixed the prep for me and put 4 ounces too many. Other than that, it almost tasted kind of good. Maybe they've improved the flavor since what some other people experienced? I did have slight cramps while first drinking the morning dose, but that could have been the lemon wedges that I later stopped biting because the flavor wasn't an issue."

For Bowel Preparation "I hadn't seen these reviews when I was going to do my prep. I'm one dose in and I wanted to share my experience. I ate normally the day before prep. On the day of prep (today), I've had nothing but water, a cup of jello, and some soup broth. I began mixing my prep 10 minutes before go time at 5 pm. I kept stirring and stirring to ensure everything was dissolved. The initial smell was fruity, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Once I took my first sip, it was super salty and super sweet all in one. It was confusing but not unbearable. The saltiness didn't affect me after the first 2 or 3 sips. I continuously took sips and I got it all done in less than 20 minutes. No weird tummy feelings really, just had to burp a couple of times. Once done, my stomach felt different, but not bad. One hour in, bowel movements started. Water consistency pretty much off the bat. No nausea, no real cramping. Overall, this isn't bad at all, just kinda gross lol with the bowel movements."

For Bowel Preparation "My 1st colonoscopy. I wish I had read reviews on this prep before I used it. 5 days later and I'm still not over the trauma of this vile powder. Took 1st dose at 6 pm, it was disgusting, but I somehow got it down within the 30 min timeframe. 10 pm started some cramping and rumbling. 6 am began 2nd dose, was even worse and gagging it down. Couldn't take the last couple of sips because I was on the verge of throwing it all up. I didn't have a bowel movement until 9:15 am!! Procedure was at 12 pm. I woke up to being told that it was incomplete due to poor bowel prep and would need to redo it. I burst into tears. The cramping didn't stop for 4 days after either. It's going to be a while before I attempt again and will not be using this prep!!"

For Bowel Preparation "So the reason I gave 5 is because I'm currently taking the 1st L. Disgusting, since 7 pm, I haven't managed to finish the last 4 glasses as I would just want to throw up, and I really need this medicine to work as I have a colonoscopy tomorrow. Two months ago, I was hospitalized for diverticulitis, so now I really need to get past this examination. Until 9 pm, I managed to drink almost everything, but didn't have any movement. I thought the solution wouldn't work. Then at 10 pm, when it hit me! Still didn't finish going to the toilet, and like the others said, it's literally like peeing out of your bum. No unbearable cramps, though."

For Bowel Preparation "Is any laxative really something to rave about? The current reviews had me worried about using this product, but it wasn't nearly as bad as what I read. It started working 45 minutes after my first dose. I didn't have cramps, and it was very gentle. By morning, I was 'complete' and didn't have to worry about the drive to the hospital. Perhaps this varies from person to person. The only thing I didn't like was it is SUPER SWEET! I felt like I was drinking syrup."

For Bowel Preparation "This is my first colonoscopy prep at 52 years old. Felt it was time with a few people around me with cancer. I better get in and get checked. After reading all the reviews, I wanted to add mine to the list for people like me who are anxious and scared. My heart rate was 130 when I started drinking the stuff. Listen, I have had a good experience thus far. Your diet and fluid intake make a HUGE difference. I made homemade soup: chicken bone broth, roast chicken, carrots, celery, onion, and squash. I ate that 3 days before my procedure. The day before, I ate NOTHING. Just had water. I drank 6 bottles of water, 16.9 oz. I fixed the drink 4 hours ahead of time and put it in the refrigerator. I used a straw and drank the liquid over 45 mins. I did not refill the same container. I drank another 16 oz of water in between sips. Started at 4:30 pm. By 5:15 pm, I had my first movement. No cramping. No nausea, no vomiting. You can do it! It’s not as bad as most make it out! Prep well."
