OnabotulinumtoxinA for Migraine Prevention "Botox was my last resort after everything else failed me. A week after my first treatment, I'm having nonstop headaches, shooting pains in my head, my neck and shoulders hurt more than ever, I have no energy, and I had nausea, dizziness, and stomach cramps. I wish I had never gotten this."

OnabotulinumtoxinA for Migraine Prevention "I would suggest Botox treatment for migraine as the best choice. I had severe headaches, and the doctor, after diagnosing, said that it is because of migraine. Took too many capsules for instant relief. But I couldn't see any changes in my situation. Parents were very much worried regarding the high dose capsule intake. Cousin suggested me to go for a therapeutic Botox in Brampton. It brought wonderful changes to my life. Now I am totally free from my migraine problem."

OnabotulinumtoxinA for Facial Wrinkles "The day after the injections, I had a sudden onset of extreme nausea. During the following month (3-6 weeks after injections), I experienced dizziness, occasional vertigo, headaches, and nausea. Week 6, my left arm went completely numb for several hours, and my headaches started to feel really unusual, like a pressure behind my eyes. Week 7, my headaches got worse and I started to develop a slew of other symptoms… a neck pain that radiated up and around my neck in waves, a continuous dull headache, along with waves of head pain and an intense pressure that radiated up the sides and around the front part of my head, plugged ears, and ear/jaw pain. Some milder symptoms: on and off pain/weakness in my right leg, on and off tingling in my left arm, trouble swallowing, tinnitus. I have had a CT scan and MRI, all tests came back normal. Currently, (14 weeks after the Botox) I am dealing with a mild dull headache, less intense waves of nausea and dizziness, and the waves of pressure in my head/ears/jaw."

OnabotulinumtoxinA for Migraine Prevention "I had my third set of Botox 3 weeks ago. It has done wonders for my severe neuralgia and paroxysmal hemicrania. I had some side effects from the first two sets (3 months apart), but they went away after about 10-12 days, and I have been 90% pain-free. I was getting up to 9-12 attacks a day lasting about an hour each, and lost my job as a result. This last set has produced terrible side effects: headaches on my forehead (banding), severe shoulder pain, very puffy right eye, chronic skin rash on my back, occipital area of my neck, and upper arms. Large red welts that burn and itch. It has now been prevailing for over a week. I also have inflamed intercostal muscles, especially around my sternum, and it is incredibly painful."

OnabotulinumtoxinA for Migraine Prevention "Getting 100 units in 9 shots on my head wasn't a lot of fun. But I haven't had a headache since. It's only been 4 days, but my neck was sore today, and I should have had a doozy of a headache. My eyelids drooped a little after the shots, but my wife didn't notice. I've got a good feeling about this. If I get through this weekend without pain, I'll be sold."

OnabotulinumtoxinA for Migraine Prevention "I can’t take it a second time. I tolerated the pain from the Botox shots well. I have a younger look about me, at least from the cheekbones up. I don’t look like I match now. The slight rise in my eyebrows makes everyone ask if I’m mad. That’s not cool that I look kinda mad. It’s been really worrying me, wondering what happened to me until I started reading some of the comments here. I’ve got worsening anxiety and paranoia, feel nauseated, want to cry, and I’m so not myself. I just want to go to sleep and wake up feeling normal again! I’ve only felt the feeling of ice going through my veins from a toxic level of an antidepressant about 20 years ago, in which case a trip to the ER had to take place, and that’s how I found out what that was, but it was also including vomiting and diarrhea. Now I just feel like ice is going through different veins on and off, and I pretty much stay fatigued and nauseous. My headache has come back."

OnabotulinumtoxinA for Migraine "After 6 years of intractable migraines, my neurologist gave me Botox shots. I now go in every 3 months for shots. It has dropped my daily pain level from an 8-9 to 5-6, which I can live with. Believe me, it's not perfect, but much better. My head is sore for about 3 days after the shots, which feels like bee stings, and I usually lay around with ice packs on my noggin."

OnabotulinumtoxinA for Facial Wrinkles "I used the Botox injections to get rid of the three lines between my eyes so that I didn't look like I was scowling all the time. Within a few days, I experienced headaches, nausea, and extreme weakness (requiring bed rest for three days). Within a couple of weeks, I had vertigo. I guess I will not be able to use Botox again. Oh, by the way, a year earlier, I had the same symptoms, but thought it was only the flu. It was only this year that I put two and two together. I took only 17.5 units between the eyes to cause this."

OnabotulinumtoxinA for Migraine Prevention "I get very painful tingling all over my entire body, and it's terrifying. I also have pretty bad headaches and speak like a stroke victim. One round, and I stopped having the painful paresthesia, and my headaches are better. I can also speak more clearly. The second round was fine too, and it's already helping on the second day, while the first took about two weeks. I am having some mild side effects that may scare some patients off: the left side of my face feels a bit numb, my throat is occasionally tight (breathing and swallowing not affected), my forehead feels kind of frozen. Are these side effects worth it? Yes. I get these feelings off and on anyway without the Botox, except for the frozen forehead. Anyway, I hope I can keep this up for many years, and while I seriously suggest looking into the warnings involving the use of ANY drug, I also encourage you to try Botox if you can. It's fantastic. And unlike triptans, it doesn't run the risk of cardiac problems. Good luck!"

OnabotulinumtoxinA for Migraine "I've had Botox injections for the past 1.5 years, every 3 months. Initially, it was a miracle drug, I'd get a bad headache the day of the injection, but then after a day or so my headaches and migraines practically went away. I went from 2 migraines a week and some level of headache the rest of the days (I didn't have a headache-less day at all before Botox) to maybe one or 2 migraines in the 3 months between doses. It does wear off around 2 weeks before my next round, and the daily headaches come back. The last 2 rounds, though, I've had new facial pain, down my temples and my whole lower jaw. The only new med was the Botox, maybe the constant dulling of my head muscles put more strain on my jaw muscles that weren't deadened by the Botox? My neurologist didn't really give me a yes or a no on if this is correlated. Overall, though, I'd recommend Botox for migraines. I've tried SOOO many types of preventative and abortive migraine meds, and this is the first to actually have an effect."

OnabotulinumtoxinA for Migraine "I'm on my third set of shots, and I'm experiencing a few problems, and I don't know if these are severe and should I be worried. On my left side, my scalp is a little raw. I have a huge knot behind my ear. I'm getting more knots in my head. I'm nauseated, dizzy, have diarrhea. I can't sleep, I can't brush my hair. My left side hurts. This is the worst headache I have had yet. My neck hurts, my left side is numb, the left side of my face is swollen, my eye is swollen also, only the left side. I get my next round of shots in March, it will be my fourth set of shots. I haven't had side effects like this before. Can anybody help me?"

OnabotulinumtoxinA for Migraine "It seems like every time I go to get my injections now, after all the injections (usually 40-45). That evening, I start with the worst headache ever and keep it for (this time - injections were on Friday 7/15 and today is 7/20). I'll probably have to go get a shot of Depakote to kill it on 7/21. I take Topamax 200 mg a day as a preventive, but I don't know. My doctor doesn't want to give me migraine meds due to the fact I'm on so many medications already. He's worried about stroke or heart attack because of my BP and chronic pain meds, and leaky heart valves. I'm just sick of headaches all the damn time."

OnabotulinumtoxinA for Facial Wrinkles "I got Botox on my forehead and around my mouth. Within a few hours, I had a headache and became dizzy/vertigo. I woke up feeling the same. Doctors claim this isn't a side effect. Well, doctors are wrong. I read that this is rare. I hope this passes soon. I tried Botox for migraines a few years ago. I had trouble breathing a few hours later. Went to the ER. But I was fine. Two weeks after the injection, I had a bad headache, but it lasted one day. I guess I'm not cut out for this stuff. Some people do fine. Everyone is different. But I won't do this again."

OnabotulinumtoxinA for Chronic Spasticity "My daughter is 32, nonverbal, and has had Botox injections for about a year in her hamstrings and calves, and they targeted multiple muscles. Suddenly now, she has about 5-6 falls a day, she just falls backward or collapses and falls forward without the ability to catch herself. The doctor says the Botox wore off, so he targeted more muscles. She cannot talk or express if she has headaches or muscle pain or spasms from her Botox injections for her spasticity. It has not improved her gait or walking. I have read so many reviews of pain after. Yet my daughter cannot explain or express what happens before or after her falls or her daily activities if she is dizzy or disoriented. I am disappointed because the first few, she walked better, now it's getting worse."

OnabotulinumtoxinA for Migraine Prevention "I stopped being able to speak without severe difficulty and pain, so my neurologist thought we could try Botox. The first treatment didn't do much, but the second really seemed to help my headaches, and I started speaking normally. The third round gave me more headaches, but I still was speaking normally. My fourth and last round made my headaches so bad that, after two months, they have barely resolved. I have had to take muscle relaxers just to get through the day and don't know how I didn't pass out from the walnut-cracking headaches. I will not be having it again. It is wearing off finally, and my voice is going away again. But I'd rather not speak than have to live in such horrible pain. It is, however, worth a try if nothing else has worked for you. Just be aware that this is a possible side effect."

For Facial Wrinkles "I had Botox injections between my brows. Absolutely no pain at the injection site, no swelling, in fact, I did have a headache before treatment, and it went away within 15 minutes. Two weeks post-op, I am amazed that the deep wrinkles are gone, and I haven't been squinting, which was the cause of the whole reason for this. I would recommend this if you are healthy and want to get the lines to disappear."

OnabotulinumtoxinA for Migraine Prevention "My advice is don't do it! I have had 3 treatments, and all of them I got headaches daily. The 3rd round has really got me. I have unbelievable headaches, nausea, fatigue, swelling of my head, eyes, and ears. I get irritated easily. I'm usually a happy person. It's been over 2 months, and still having horrible side effects. Hope this gets out of my system soon. Never again!!"
