For Dermatomyositis "Have been treated for atopic dermatomyositis since 1994 with a variety of drugs. Mycophenolate combined with a small dosage of prednisone (3 or 4 mg) has kept skin clear and relatively unaffected for the past 5 years. Muscle enzymes quickly elevate if I cut back from two to one 250 mg capsule per day."

Mycophenolate mofetil "I have autoimmune hemolytic anemia. I am refractory on steroids and rituximab (it worked first time, but not anymore on second onset). Now I am on 2g of CellCept per day. For now, I do not have any major side effects. Just sometimes problems with digestion. I am hoping that it will stay that way because the next line of treatment will be much worse."

For Autoimmune Hepatitis "I have been on mycophenolate mofetil for 3 years after having a major reaction to Imuran. This drug, plus Budesonide, has my autoimmune hepatitis under control, and my liver functions are in the normal category."

Mycophenolate mofetil for Organ Transplant, Rejection Prophylaxis "I had a liver transplant in Feb '06 and have taken 1000 mg twice a day now for a couple of years. Before, that dosage changed a bit to get the correct dosage. I also take tacrolimus (Prograf 1 mg twice a day). I have had no side effects-expensive, but luckily I have a plan."

Mycophenolate mofetil for Organ Transplant, Rejection Prophylaxis "I had a liver transplant in 2001 and was put on both CellCept and Prograf. When my creatinine reached 2.1, I was taken off Prograf and put on 2000 mg a day of CellCept. I have had no side effects. The only problem is the cost, I am now on Medicare and will be in the donut hole after 4 months."

Mycophenolate mofetil "I was diagnosed with MG for three years, having plasma weekly but still no response. Currently taking CellCept, it seems to respond well within two days. Hopefully, it helps my symptoms so I don't have to have plasma weekly."

Mycophenolate mofetil for Organ Transplant, Rejection Prophylaxis "I had a liver transplantation in 1997 and have been on Sandimmun Neoral for 13 years. In 2009, my doctor decided to switch to CellCept because my creatinine level rose from 1.3 to 1.7 (kidney). I have been on both Neoral and CellCept over the whole summer of 2009. I did not feel well, and finally, in November 2009, I had a hyper blood-sugar shock of 1402, was hospitalized. Now I am slowly recovering with insulin BS 100-200. I switched back to Sandimmun 25-0-50, but my doctor wants to switch again to CellCept. I'm afraid to get hyperglycemia again."

Mycophenolate mofetil "Diagnosed with ocular myasthenia gravis (OMG) 18 months ago - specifically double vision. Prescribed Mestinon (pyridostigmine) at outset along with corticosteroid (prednisone). Vision stabilized over time to varying degrees. Concerns raised over long-term use of steroids. Accordingly, 4 months ago, prescribed mycophenolate (CellCept) 1000 mg twice a day. No change initially, however, after 4 months, some noticeable improvement in reduced/stabilized double vision (diplopia). Some side effects I had were indigestion, blood pressure fluctuation, sweating, abdominal pains (sharp, but fleeting), and cramps in the extremities, but also in the stomach area."

Mycophenolate mofetil for Organ Transplant, Rejection Prophylaxis "I am having severe diarrhea on CellCept, which has my electrolytes out of whack to the point of having to go to the local ED for fluids and supplements. I'm taking 2g daily in 4 doses. The more I drink, the worse it gets, so I am in a catch-22 situation. I am also on Envarsus and prednisone as anti-rejection meds. I'm also taking Septra, which may be contributing to my problem."

For Myasthenia Gravis "Have had MG since 2000, and until I was given CellCept after about 2 years, I did not improve much. I started at 2000 mg and gradually reduced over 15 years to 250 mg. I am now in my 80s and doing fairly well. I think it saved my life. My doctor says there is still mg in my system from reading my blood test, so I am staying on the mycophenolate."

For Multiple Sclerosis "I have been taking this medication since 2010 after my worst episode, and my first episode since taking it began two months ago. I'm taking it alone with no other multiple sclerosis-related treatments, except that we are now trying hydrocortisone since it is a natural steroid."

For Organ Transplant, Rejection Prophylaxis "I think this is the immunosuppressive drug with the least side effects. Good to reduce prednisolone and tacrolimus. For stomach-related issues, can take psyllium husk. If you are fatigued, try checking CMV infection."

I’m taking mycophenolate acid and they don’t want to pay for it!! Cigna part D is giving us a hard time. We have sent 3 appeals and had three denials."

For Myasthenia Gravis "Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with mycophenolate. I had frequent bouts of watery diarrhea and constant nausea. I lost about 10 pounds. I took 500 mg at night. I was also taking Mestinon. I only took it for 5 weeks but just could not tolerate the side effects. I was taking it because I had neck weakness and realized I didn’t take it long enough to show any results but could not see myself experiencing diarrhea and constant nausea for months."

Mycophenolate mofetil "I was prescribed CellCept for a rare autoimmune connective tissue disease. I take it along with methotrexate. I haven’t experienced dangerous side effects. My side effects are dizziness, nausea, bowel upset, and headaches. After taking it for a month, these side effects have been occurring less and less. I take 2000 mg daily (1000 mg twice daily). I would say this is a safe medication, although I am not a doctor."
