For Hypotension "I was prescribed 2.5 mg three times per day. I got pretty intense side effects from that dose, so I cut those in half and took two pills per day, four hours apart. So, yes, they do work as far as finally not feeling like passing out when I go from sitting for a while to standing up. That's great! I feel like the side effects are intolerable for me though! Even taking a tiny amount now, I have terrible chills all day, and my skin crawls and tingles constantly, making me nervous and woozy. One day, my heart was pounding so badly, causing my whole body to shake, which made my body even more numb and pinprickly, that I went to the ER thinking I was having a stroke or something. They told me I had anxiety and low potassium (I'm thinking that was from the constant peeing from this medication). So I don't know what to do now. I like the positive of not feeling lightheaded, but the tingles, anxiety, and all might not be worth that benefit."

For Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome "I love it! Only positive effects for me. Helps my anxiety and dizziness/spotty vision. Also helps with my energy levels too! So helpful! 10/10. Only thing is how often I have to take it: every 4 hours."

For Hypotension "On May 29, 2023, I woke up in the middle of the night feeling extreme cold, shivered uncontrollably, and disoriented. My husband took my BP, it was 54/42. He was concerned and headed me to the hospital an hour away. I was in and out of consciousness all the way. When we arrived at the hospital, I passed out after they got me into a wheelchair. By the time they got me back and took my BP again, it was almost nonexistent, I was not aware of anything until I woke up in my hospital bed. My family doctor was concerned as my blood pressure remained pretty low. Up until this happened, it was around 127/80. He sent me to one of the best hospitals in eastern TN, Vanderbilt. They were not able to pinpoint why. Now that I am taking midodrine, my BP averages around 103/74, pulse 80-100, and I’m not tired all the time. I am taking 2.5 mg only 2 times a day, as the side effects of lightheadedness bother me. However, my BP sometimes spikes quite high unexpectedly, I feel hot and anxious."

For Hypotension "I have been on Midodrine for a few weeks. I have been getting extremely anxious and depressed. Also, my ears ring so loud now. I’m very uncomfortable with this med."

For Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome "Again, unfortunately, not all drugs work well in some. I am 91 years old and was put on midodrine x 3 daily for hypotension (the doctors have only realized I have an underactive thyroid). Side effects of midodrine were dizziness and falling over (broke my back and knee; was told it was age-related), severe anxiety and confusion (was told I have the beginning of dementia), couldn't talk due to breathlessness (was told I have heart failure and COPD - never smoked or drank), and had a heart scan and X-ray 1 month before starting midodrine, no heart problems. Burning all over, insomnia (walking around the house in the middle of the night confused), cramps all over my body (was told I have osteoarthritis), lack of appetite (was told it was age-related). It's a shame doctors, etc., don't want to know or help when you reach a certain age and just tell me I have heart problems, dementia, and osteoarthritis. My grandson stopped the midodrine, and within two days, ALL the above symptoms magically disappeared."
