Metoclopramide for Migraine "I have a history of cluster migraines and occasionally have to make a trip to the ER when they become severe. The Reglan and Toradol combination gives me 100% relief, but I learned the hard way, I need Benadryl intravenously or I'll suffer what some of you have reported (anxiousness, pacing, crawling skin, inability to fall asleep, feeling wired). Suffering from the migraine is horrible enough, you don't want the ugly side effects, ask for Benadryl, and this should also help you sleep."

Metoclopramide for Migraine "I went to the ER last month because I was having bad migraines. They gave me Reglan and Benadryl in the IV right away. I was paranoid, jittery, and tried pulling the IV out of my arm. It was the worst feeling ever, and I was so ready to go home. The good thing is that it did take my migraine away for about a month. I just started having another migraine yesterday, and I went to the ER on 11-13-15, and they gave me Benadryl and Reglan in the form of a pill - no IV, and I didn't get that feeling this time. Just went to sleep really fast. I think it was the medicine going straight into my bloodstream a little too fast that gave me the bad side effects."

Metoclopramide for Migraine "I have severe migraines. I would say on a monthly basis, and usually they give me morphine through the IV in the ER room. But one time, the doctor decided to give me this Reglan, which changed my life into the worst! I do not know how this medicine can treat something! I felt a burning sensation first in my stomach, and then I started to think that I'm going to die because I wanted to pull out the IV, and I was restless, shaking, panicking, anxious, and I wanted to pull out the IV line. The nurses looked at me like I was possessed by a demon! After one year, I still feel anxious and weird. I know this med changed my life into the worst!"

For Gastroparesis "I have MS and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and gastroparesis, and have been taking metoclopramide 5 mg, 2 a day for a year. Then they raised it to 5 mg, 4 times a day. Soon after, they went up to 10 mg, 4 times a day. When I went to the 4 a day, I started having problems. It started with a low-grade fever and major confusion, and then came the breathing troubles, plus some anxiety that got pretty bad. I could not catch my breath, mainly at night. It got so bad I was even starting to panic. It may have caused other side effects, but with MS, they were hard to tell. I just stopped taking them, and after the second night, my breathing was a little better. I am hoping that goes away."

Metoclopramide for Lactation Augmentation "The purpose of my writing this review is to warn nursing mothers against using this drug. The drug worked - it increased my milk supply - but at a very high cost. Prior to taking Reglan, I had never had issues with depression or insomnia and very little issues with anxiety. Throughout the latter part of my taking this drug, anxiety increased steadily. Then I stopped sleeping. I became extremely anxious and severely depressed. After over two weeks going on a total of no more than 15 hours of sleep, I was admitted to the hospital. While in the hospital, I stopped taking Reglan. After five days off the drug, I was fine. Please do not take this drug. The other reviews are accurate as well. It is not worth it."

Metoclopramide for Nausea/Vomiting "I was admitted to the hospital for severe dehydration and vomiting during the first trimester of my pregnancy. Not long after having Reglan administered, I began flipping out and struggling with severe anxiety. I was on the phone with my mother, screaming and kicking as if something or someone were attacking me or coming after me. It almost felt uncontrollable. I remember the feeling of the outburst kind of building up, then suddenly I was just completely terrified and having this episode. The nurses came running back in, and a doctor was called to decide what to do. They put something else in my IV, and I remember someone being told to give me extra fluids to flush it out. I felt better within a few minutes, but I was still a bit apprehensive and kept asking the nurses to let me go for a walk."

Metoclopramide for Gastroparesis "I have been given this med several times in a GI cocktail at the ER when having belly pain from gastroparesis, undiagnosed. I began feeling afraid as it entered my system; a need to remove the IV and get the med out of my body. I felt I was going to die. I wanted to escape, but also felt like I couldn't move. The ERs in my area give medicine and not check back in for an hour or more, so I suffered alone while texting my SO how scared I was. Later, getting a diagnosis of gastroparesis, this was prescribed to me and I began taking it nightly. It caused the same reaction, and I couldn't sleep for fear if I closed my eyes I wouldn't wake. I held onto my SO's arm saying, 'I'm scared I will die if I fall asleep... please help...' I then realized it was the same med in the GI cocktail, and I told my doctor I couldn't cope with the side effects. There are other treatments available. Nobody has to suffer this med if they have this reaction. I still get anxiety when going to the ER due to the traumatic experiences."

Metoclopramide for Nausea/Vomiting "I was given this through an IV when I was in the ER for horrible nausea, and it was the worst medication I’ve ever been on. It made me feel super jittery and just so confused and anxious. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to try this. Definitely ask for something else if at all possible, like ondansetron or Zofran."

Metoclopramide for Migraine "If you have never taken this drug, don't! Reglan was given to me for my migraine. I have anxiety normally. Once given Reglan, I had panic attacks, jumping up, freaking out, trying to get the hell out of the hospital. They wouldn't let me leave, so I started ripping out my IV and started walking out. They caught me and strapped me down, which I fought. I cried, my body shook, impending dread, depression with an overactive panic attack. Forgo the Benadryl. It didn't help but said I was 'allergic to it,' so they gave me Benadryl, and they gave me 2 mg of Lorazepam, and I started to calm down. I wanted to die. Since then, I tell them I'm allergic to it, but I still have panic attacks every time I'm in the ER and severe anxiety. I need meds for it now."

Metoclopramide for Migraine "So glad I looked up these reviews! I had the same experience as others with the anxiety, wanting to crawl out of my skin feeling. I had the Benadryl as well, but it didn't help. The doctors and nurses were acting like I was crazy and like they had never heard of this reaction. I'm glad to know I'm not alone and that I wasn't imagining these symptoms. I literally could not lie in the bed - I was pacing around the hospital room and actually had to jump up and down because I was so restless. Absolutely awful feeling - I'd almost rather have the migraine (almost, but not quite). They finally had to give me Ativan to help. The Reglan did get rid of my migraine though, that's why 2 stars."

Metoclopramide for Nausea/Vomiting "This medicine is horrible. My doctor switched me to this from Zofran because of constipation. I took this one time, and it is causing severe anxiety, blurred vision, irritability, and an overall weird and bad feeling all over. I needed a medication for severe pregnancy nausea, and this did absolutely nothing but make me feel horrible. It also made my headaches worse. I am throwing the remainder of the pills in the trash because that is what they are."

Metoclopramide for Migraine "I will never in my life allow this to be administered to me ever again in life. On 04/20/2018, I went to the ER for a severe migraine. The RN gave me a cocktail of Toradol and then the Reglan. About 30 seconds later, the nurse walked out, and I began to experience a strong, intense feeling of fear, anxiousness, and anxiety. I wanted to rip the IV out of my arm and run all the way home. I never want to feel like that again... NEVER!!"

Metoclopramide for Migraine "Lord! This was like a death experience for me. I am scarred for life. I have been feeling sick for about 4 days in which I acquired a sore throat, earache, stiff neck, super swollen lymph nodes, fever, and the worst headache ever. After the initial test that ruled out negative for meningitis, mono, and strep throat, they decided to give me a cocktail of Reglan and Benadryl through my IV. Within seconds, I felt a burning sensation as well as sleepy, so I thought I would be okay. Boy! Was I wrong. My heart was racing at 150 bpm. I lost my voice, was super jittery, and felt like I was going to die. The nurse told me to relax, she looked worried. I wanted to pull my IV off. I told her to get it off, and she insisted that she would give me Toradol to help calm me. :("

Metoclopramide for GERD "This drug almost cost me my life! Please be aware of what this drug can do! This drug caused me horrible anxiety attacks. Felt like I could not go on! I was prescribed this for GERD by my doctor. As soon as I took it, I had a horrible anxiety attack! Had suicidal ideations! It was horrifying. I cried every day and night for God to help me and make it stop. I’m a grown man, 25 years old! I cried to my parents to make it stop! Had to quit my job! Took this in July of last year! Still derealized/depersonalized! WARNING! All the doctors know! Don’t let them tell you they don’t know that Reglan can do this! Trust me, they know! But they’ll deny it and make it seem like it's you! Show them these reviews! This drug is dangerous. I only took one dose, my mom flushed the rest! Been back and forth to every hospital with no available help but an offer to the psych ward after taking that one 10mg pill. Thought I had died and couldn’t cross over. It was truly horrifying!"

Metoclopramide for Nausea/Vomiting "I was in the ER with a migraine and dehydration due to vomiting. Instead of the regular Phenergan I receive, I was administered Reglan. I became very irritated, jittery, and irrational. I tried to get out of the hospital bed and pull out my IV. It took four soldiers (we are military) to hold me down to give me a shot to counteract the Reglan. Needless to say, I have a Reglan allergy in my medical records now."

Metoclopramide for GERD "I went to the ER with extreme nausea and pain from an ovarian cyst I had. I was given Reglan through an IV before I went home. The nurse told me before he gave it to me that a side effect was having really bad anxiety. Minutes after being given the Reglan, I started shaking uncontrollably and broke out in hives all over my body. I had a total freak-out moment and have never been that scared in my entire life. DO NOT TAKE REGLAN!!"

Metoclopramide for Migraine "Given IV with Toradol & Benadryl. My headache went away almost immediately. Soon after that, I started shivering and trembling. I dismissed it, thinking I was just cold because of the hospital temperature & the IV fluids. I also had to pee so bad that I unhooked it myself because I could not wait for the nurse to come in and help me. I was so restless and anxious that I drove home, knowing the nurse told me to call a ride, but it's like I couldn't control the urge to just make it home and go to bed. I didn't realize that all of those symptoms were side effects of the medicine until I got home & started to tremble more & was unable to sleep. Since then, I've been having panic attacks & anxiety, muscle stiffness & twitches. DO NOT TAKE."

For Migraine "I went to the ER with a hypertensive crisis. Once they got my BP stable, my severe headache was still very persistent, so the doctor prescribed metoclopramide and Benadryl. Unlike many others here, I had absolutely no anxiety to the Reglan. My headache was alleviated within 15 minutes, and within a few hours, I was able to go home."
