For ADHD "Ritalin helped me with doing my homework but also gave me side effects like sweating, increased irritability, and I had come downs. It also affects my appetite, where I will feel extremely hungry but also have no appetite and do not want to eat despite being super hungry. This was all on the lowest dose. I would give this a shot if recommended by your psychiatrist, but this medication is not for me."

For ADHD "I took 15 mg instant release Ritalin for ADHD, to combat daytime sleepiness and focus on med school studies. I have mixed feelings about this medication. It improved my focus a lot, but it also had some negative effects. I was very nauseous after taking the pill and would sometimes gag. Nausea was absent on days I didn't take it. I had no appetite, so I wasn't eating enough, which isn't ideal because I am already thin and not looking to lose weight. I would try to eat before taking the pill, but I did notice either a decreased efficacy of the drug. It also increased my heart rate to about 120 beats per min (I am normally about 75). This did help me feel motivated and get work done, I just wish I didn't experience these side effects."

For ADHD "The doc told me to start half a tab. 10 mg is full. I was on the 10 mg in a few days, mind you. It perked me up at first, but very focused and more organized for certain. I haven't yet had appetite issues because I'm on my period now. I take one in the a.m. with sertraline 100 mg as per usual the past year. I find I am way too relaxed and almost restful-minded. Although I can sit still now and do nothing as opposed to constantly finding weird tasks to do around the house. I drink alcohol with it, no worries. Although not as much as I used to. I don't feel like it. I used to walk fast, now I walk slow, lol. I needed white noise to sleep, now I can just sleep with silence. Hated loud noises and flies, but now I don't stress about them. I tried to stop taking them after 10 days, but I went anxiety and heart fast, so I took half and was all good, but again very relaxed."

For ADHD "I was diagnosed with ADHD at age 6. I was prescribed Ritalin (unsure of the dosage), and it honestly worked wonders. I, however, did get to experience some side effects, and this eventually led to me stopping using it after two and a half years. Some of the side effects were that I would not feel the need to eat until someone told me that it was time to eat. I sometimes went the whole day without eating due to my body not 'telling' my brain I'm hungry. I also had the issue of making me not see the need to be social. At school or home, I'd always be more focused on something else than making friends or talking to friends and family. These two things changed once I got off Ritalin at age 9. I'll admit at the time, it seemed like the best decision to become a 'person' at the cost of having good focus and good time management."

For ADHD "I love this. I've started taking it 3 years ago, it's effective for me. The best thing about these pills is it makes me less hungry, and it helps me lose weight!"
