For Bowel Preparation "First colonoscopy. Followed doctor's instructions exactly (which required getting up at 3 in the morning before the procedure, ugh). I began eating low-fiber, low-residue foods three days prior and absolutely stuck to it (eggs, cottage cheese, Gatorade, broth, and Ensure). I hydrated like nobody's business with both Pedialyte and Gatorade. I consumed only clear liquids the day before. I didn't experience any cramping or vomiting whatsoever. My Dr. said my prep was excellent and he could see everything. Thank God I don't have to do this for another 10 years, but I wouldn't hesitate to use Sutab again."

For Bowel Preparation "I wish I would have found this page prior to my doing this. NEVER AGAIN. I couldn’t take the “Go-Lytely” years ago, so was happy to hear of a tablet prep. I started the night before. During the day, I had toast and chicken broth and jello for lunch. Kept hydrated. Drank 150 oz prior to prep. Took the tablets and had one bowel movement an hour later. Another hour later, but had lots of noises from my stomach. Today, I woke up at 5 am and started taking the second dose. 15 minutes later, I started throwing up. Kept trying to get the tablets down, but they all came up. I was throwing up yellow bile for the next few hours. My son had to pull over twice on the way to my procedure for me to throw up in the car. Got to the procedure, had a nice nap, and was woken up to say they couldn’t do it. (I had warned them that I didn’t think it would work). 12 hours later, I’ve had Sprite and iced tea to drink and about 10 saltines. I still feel lousy and sick."

For Bowel Preparation "When I took the first bottle of 12 pills, I immediately felt nauseated. 1 hr later, I was violently vomiting. I ended up running back and forth to the bathroom for 4 hrs. I stopped the prep, could not drink anything, and felt extremely sick the rest of the night and the next morning. My bottom was extremely sore. I canceled my colonoscopy and will not reschedule one. Worst experience with a drug in my life. 2 weeks later and my stools are still messed up."

For Bowel Preparation "Most god-awful experience ever. Read all reviews, my doctor never heard of a bad reaction, so I tried it. Super hydrated and fasted. I took the first 12 pills at 5 pm and threw up at 6 pm (mostly water), sweating, cramps, nausea, and no poop. Then the second 8 pills at 10 pm (the last 4 pills would have literally killed me), and I had profuse sweating, violent, unrelenting vomiting into dry heaving while having first solid stool, then projectile diarrhea and excruciating cramps so bad I couldn't breathe. I lay on the bathroom floor to get cool and relieve pain, but it was impossible—sweat puddles for hours alone (bad idea). A friend begged to come get me and take me to the ER, but immobilized from pain, I couldn't open the door for her or an ambulance. Barely made it to bed because I was so weak and dizzy from trauma to my body. Left five messages for my doctor through the night that he mysteriously never received or responded to, but tried colonoscopy anyway and failed, so all for nothing and $$$. Research!!! Get water colonoscopy, do Miralax only prep."

For Bowel Preparation "These are vile in every single way! Worst experience of my life, and it’s still happening. First dose induced gnarly cramping as well as horrific chest pain. It is how I imagine a massive heart attack would feel! Took hours to begin working, and the results are violent! Just began my second dose 20 minutes ago. Five pills in, and I was projectile vomiting. After about five straight minutes of that, it subsided for now, but I’m pretty sure I lost it all. Still riddled with the chest pain and cramping. My head is now throbbing, and I’m shaking so violently that this is taking far too long to type. I’m so angry! I was given no choice. It was only Sutab. This is not my first prep. They are typically unpleasant, but this has been the worst night! No sleep! I paid way too much money for one of the worst nights of my life, and I will likely have to cancel. I will not be rescheduling because I will NEVER do this again! Way to go, Doc! You prescribed me a bad drug and have traumatized me!"

For Bowel Preparation "I fasted, drank only clear liquids, and took the pills as directed. The first bottle went fine. About 30 minutes after I finished the first bottle, I ran to the bathroom. I experienced two more severe bowel movements before even starting the second. Barely got through the second bottle when I vomited clear liquid. This was around 8:30 pm, spent the next 5 hours running to and/or sitting on the bowl. This is my second colonoscopy, my first experience with the liquid went fine. This was a horrible experience-bloating, cramping. Will not take this ever again."

For Bowel Preparation "While it worked enough to have a successful colonoscopy, the side effects were awful. I followed the directions perfectly. Woke up with an excruciating headache, nausea, and vomiting. After receiving anti-nausea medication and Tylenol through an IV, 19 hours later I still have a bad headache. Both a doctor and nurse at the outpatient facility told me that over 50% of patients experience these same symptoms."

For Bowel Preparation "This medication needs to be withdrawn as a bowel prep. It has caused several people to have terrible gastric discomfort: nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Causes too much discomfort before the procedure is done."

For Bowel Preparation "Pills went down easily. 90 minutes in, and I began to vomit horribly. I immediately had a horrible headache and decided not to take the second round. The prep did begin to work, but my side effects were a weird taste in my mouth for days, a headache, and a neck ache for a week or better. Decided to go back to the Suprep. I was really hoping it was a better alternative for me."

For Bowel Preparation "The worst bowel prep I have used. It caused nausea and vomiting, and I was unable to keep down the second dose. They are large pills and not the best thing to take before a bowel prep. I drank plenty of water and took Zofran, but it did not work well. Would not recommend it."

For Bowel Preparation "Here are some tips to help your colonoscopy preparation experience: Firstly, I recommend that you ask your doctor for Zofran to alleviate nausea. Although pills are more convenient and do not taste bad (except when you burp), the nausea may be worse than in previous colonoscopy preps. In my case, I never vomited with the liquid prep during my previous two colonoscopies, but this time I vomited an hour after taking the second dose. I had to confirm with the doctor's office whether the prep would still be effective. Eventually, I passed clear liquid stool, so it was deemed satisfactory, but I only scored a 7 out of 9 for the quality of my prep. Despite following every dietary instruction before and during prep, I do not know what else I could have done. Secondly, you might want to consider sitting on towels or wearing an adult diaper during prep to avoid accidents. I had an unpleasant accident, which did not occur during my previous preps. The sudden bowel movement happened 2.5 hours after taking the first dose, leaving me no time to reach the bathroom. Finally, I suggest purchasing baby wipes with aloe or a similar alternative, as well as hydrocortisone cream to alleviate any discomfort."

For Bowel Preparation "I took Sutab at 5 pm and had nausea, cramps, vomiting, and weakness, and I could not sleep. I took a second dose at 5:30 am the next morning, and it lasted till 7 am. It was effective in the end but was not as easy as the preps I have used in the past."

For Bowel Preparation "My third colonoscopy, so pills and drinking water sounded like a good idea. Followed instructions of low-residue foods and liquid diet on prep day. First dose, 6 pm, with 16 oz of water. Unfortunately, I had violent vomiting. Once that stopped, I drank the second 16 oz of water, and the cleansing started. Had to stay in the bathroom for several hours. The second dose was taken at midnight. In hindsight, I should have not done the second dose, but the scope was scheduled for 6:30 am. With no way to call anyone to cancel. Definitely a nightmare of vomiting and diarrhea. The biggest problem now is my stomach is so sensitive to food, I'm on a low FODMAP diet. Never had a problem eating anything before the prep. Love spicy foods. A 24-hour phone number to a medical professional would have been very helpful. I could have called and asked questions and canceled the procedure. My husband took the same prep before me and didn't have any problems. Me, everything was severe from vomiting to diarrhea, and the second dose was worse."

For Bowel Preparation "As a pharmacist and now a patient, I was frightened by all of the negative reviews. One gastro doc recommended to me to take the pills every 3 minutes instead of the instructed 1-2 minutes. Had absolutely no nausea or vomiting. Worked in about an hour. And it really worked. All in all, very easy compared to mag citrate. Would definitely use again."

For Bowel Preparation "As with others who had negative experiences, I also had nausea and vomiting (after the 2nd round). The pills are huge, and swallowing 12 at a time within 20 minutes was torture. My esophagus was irritated, and the pills sat in my stomach like a lump for hours. I could not get comfortable after the first round. The effect was minimal. I didn’t clean out well and had to reschedule. I will go back to the liquid prep, which is also not fun, but at least it makes it to the intestines quickly."

For Bowel Preparation "I have had many colonoscopies before and have always done the traditional drinking gallons upon gallons of Miralax. So when offered to take Sutab pills, it was a no-brainer. Well, worst mistake of my life. I took the first bottle of pills starting at 4 pm. By 4:30, I was nonstop vomiting and had a throbbing headache. The second bottle of pills brought more vomit and brought on rather violent diarrhea. Next time, I am guzzling the Miralax and will gladly do so."

For Bowel Preparation "I had one colonoscopy prior and took Suprep, which was so gross I almost gagged on the second dose and didn’t quite finish it. I was relieved to have the option for Sutab this time, even if it did cost me $60 extra (used coupon). I am very undecided now about which method is the lesser of two evils. I followed the diet, rules, etc. for the days beforehand exactly as laid out by my provider. I found the pills themselves easy to take, but I had terrible nausea and vomited five times. We had some Zofran left over from another illness, so I took that, waited 20 minutes, and managed to swallow my last 3 pills. For the second dose, I took another dose of Zofran half an hour prior. This one went down much easier, but I still couldn’t finish the follow-up 16 oz of water due to nausea. I had a throbbing headache (unusual for me) and also experienced chills and sweats off and on. The bowel movements were painless, though, and I did have a successful prep. Not sure if I will try this again!"

For Bowel Preparation "Took the 1st dose (12 tablets and water) as prescribed. One hour after taking all the pills and drinking all the water, I began to bloat, have severe stomach cramps, and vomit. The pills did work as it pertained to moving my bowels, but at what cost?! I woke up at 3 am the next morning with a bad headache, vomiting, and continued cleansing of the bowels. I canceled my appointment due to still throwing up and a bad headache and will never try the pill prep again."

For Bowel Preparation "This is my first experience with Sutab. I have had the liquid prep several times before; this method is amazing compared to the liquid. Another user said to take Zofran prior, and it must have helped because I had zero nausea or vomiting. I also am completely clear after just my first dose! Also, it was recommended by another user to set your phone timer and take it every 3 minutes. It’s a million times better than liquid prep."

For Bowel Preparation "Excellent outcome using Sutab for prep. Personal experience, results may vary. Day before, had eggs, toast, and bacon for breakfast at 8 am, fasting began after that. Prescribed Zofran to take with my prep. I chose not to take it unless necessary, and it was not. Later that day took round 1 of the pills at 5 pm. Round 2 started at 6 am the day of the colonoscopy, for an 11 am procedure. The pills were not hard to swallow (and I suck at taking pills). No major nausea, no bloating, no vomiting. Definitely felt off, but that is to be expected when you shock purge your digestive system from top to bottom. Prep took about an hour to start working, couple trips to the bathroom after each round. Nothing was urgent or uncontrollable. My blood pressure was elevated in recovery, and I was given IV fluids to resolve. I thought I drank enough extra fluid to stay hydrated, but I was wrong. The physician said the prep was very good and that my colon was free of any issues."

For Bowel Preparation "Took Sutab to prepare for my colonoscopy on Friday. The good: VERY easy to take, no bigger than a multivitamin and has no flavor; just have to drink it with lots of water, which you should be having anyway. I was prescribed Zofran (anti-nausea) and took one tablet 1 1/2 hours before I started, didn't have any problem with nausea, vomiting, or cramps. Took about 2 1/2 hours to kick in; I was fully evacuated by about 8 hours later. The bad: It didn't clean me out as completely as the Miralax prep I did 10 years prior. Still had little bits of residue coming out right before my colonoscopy. Doctor noted that my prep was 'acceptable' but remarked that there was still fecal matter present. I followed the instructions to the letter, so that's on the Sutab, I guess. Bottom (ha ha) line: Sutab did well enough for me, but the Miralax prep cleaned me out better. If you use Sutab, start a low-residue diet starting 5 days before, get some anti-nausea meds and hydrate!!"

For Bowel Preparation "The first dose of 12 pills wasn't too bad, but after the second dose, I've never been so sick. Such nausea and pain and vomiting. I don't think I'll try them again."

For Bowel Preparation "Took the first part of the prep as directed and felt bloated and nauseous. Took 3 hours to move my bowels, then the next 9 hours I spent either on the commode, running to try to get to the commode in time, sitting on the commode for hours at a time to be safe, or pooping on myself, or standing in the shower cleaning myself off and cleaning up poop. I have NEVER had an experience like this in my entire 62 years of life! I regretfully took the second dose as directed and immediately began to forcefully vomit yellow bile, all while shooting liquid poop out. 12 plus hours of the worst experience of my life and a raw, swollen anus that burns like fire just from the excessive amount of pooping. I swear I pooped out food that I digested as a toddler! NEVER USING THIS PREP AGAIN AND POSSIBLY NEVER GETTING ANOTHER COLONOSCOPY AGAIN BECAUSE OF IT!"
