For Bowel Preparation "This was my 3rd colonoscopy but my first time using Sutab. It did not work for me at all. I got all the bad side effects of nausea, bellyache, dehydration, headache, without the expected results of having emptied my bowels so I could have a successful procedure. I will have to repeat my colonoscopy in 3 months. I won't ask for that drug again."

For Bowel Preparation "I just had my second colonoscopy, and this time around, I was prescribed Sutab instead of GaviLyte (had no issues with GaviLyte prior, just that it was too difficult to consume so much liquid). I came here to read the reviews and pick up some tips and tricks. After seeing the reviews, I was honestly horrified and even considered calling my doctor to re-prescribe GaviLyte instead. Nevertheless, I read some great positive reviews and went through with the pills. Thank you to the folks who took the time to add their positive insights. I wanted to do the same in hopes of relieving some stress. Sutab was a walk in the park for me. I had zero issues taking the pills. I had very mild nausea from the first dose, which lasted about 10 min. I had no symptoms taking the second dose. I started clearing out about an hour-ish later and didn't have to spend a whole night or morning in the bathroom."

For Bowel Preparation "As with others who had negative experiences, I also had nausea and vomiting (after the 2nd round). The pills are huge, and swallowing 12 at a time within 20 minutes was torture. My esophagus was irritated, and the pills sat in my stomach like a lump for hours. I could not get comfortable after the first round. The effect was minimal. I didn’t clean out well and had to reschedule. I will go back to the liquid prep, which is also not fun, but at least it makes it to the intestines quickly."

For Bowel Preparation "I wanted to give a positive review for this prep to give hope to people that are nervous about using this prep. This was my first colonoscopy. I do not do well with drinking excessive amounts of liquid, so I decided to do the Sutab instead. I was extremely nervous due to the reviews that I read about this prep, but surprisingly my experience was better than I thought it was going to be! I followed the directions given to me by my G.I. doc exactly. I started a low-fiber diet 3 days prior to my colonoscopy. The day before the procedure, I had a liquid diet only, which was Sprite, water, and a little bit of Gatorade. I took my first dose at 4 pm, it started working on me an hour later. I was on the toilet for 3 hours. Took my second dose at 3:15 am, again on the toilet for 3 hours. The only thing that was rough was I did have a lot of stomach pain and nausea. This prep isn't pleasant, but it also isn't the worst thing I've ever been through."

For Bowel Preparation "Knowing that having your bowels cleansed from the top down isn’t going to be the most fun part of your week, the Sutab prep was much better than some of the horror stories that I read in other reviews. This is the only colonoscopy prep I have done, but swallowing pills sure seemed better than the liquid method I’ve heard about from others. Two sets of 12 pills are done. I think spacing the pills out helped. I set a timer and took one every 90 seconds. I’d suggest drinking the exact amount of water recommended (not more or less). In the first round, I ended up drinking an extra 16 oz, and I was so full it made me nauseous. Second round, I drank the exact amount, and it was fine. Diaper rash ointment and a gentle touch are your friends in this process or it’ll feel like you ate 20 habanero peppers at dinner the night before. Also, follow the food/clear liquid instructions carefully. I did 2 days on clear liquids and had a good prep. Overall, not that awful."

For Bowel Preparation "If you struggle with drinking the laxative fluids, then taking Sutab in pill format helps drastically. I usually start two hours early from the recommended time my doctor gives me because it takes a little time for it to take effect since it isn’t a liquid. That being said, I sometimes struggled to swallow the pills after not eating that day, so to offset any nausea while taking all the pills in the container, I’ll take a quick break with a spoonful of honey, so it feels like I’m eating something besides just swallowing these pills. I’ve been on it twice, and both times are great. I was even able to get a nap in before the colonoscopy in the morning. I refuse to take anything but Sutab for bowel prep now."

For Bowel Preparation "I had my 4th colonoscopy today. For me, Sutab was by far the best prep. I had to drink 48 oz of water with each dose of Sutab. There are two doses to complete the prep. I’ve read other reviews indicating nausea and other problems, which I didn’t experience. Overall, I’m very happy I chose Sutab."

For Bowel Preparation "I had one colonoscopy prior and took Suprep, which was so gross I almost gagged on the second dose and didn’t quite finish it. I was relieved to have the option for Sutab this time, even if it did cost me $60 extra (used coupon). I am very undecided now about which method is the lesser of two evils. I followed the diet, rules, etc. for the days beforehand exactly as laid out by my provider. I found the pills themselves easy to take, but I had terrible nausea and vomited five times. We had some Zofran left over from another illness, so I took that, waited 20 minutes, and managed to swallow my last 3 pills. For the second dose, I took another dose of Zofran half an hour prior. This one went down much easier, but I still couldn’t finish the follow-up 16 oz of water due to nausea. I had a throbbing headache (unusual for me) and also experienced chills and sweats off and on. The bowel movements were painless, though, and I did have a successful prep. Not sure if I will try this again!"

For Bowel Preparation "This is my first experience with Sutab. I have had the liquid prep several times before; this method is amazing compared to the liquid. Another user said to take Zofran prior, and it must have helped because I had zero nausea or vomiting. I also am completely clear after just my first dose! Also, it was recommended by another user to set your phone timer and take it every 3 minutes. It’s a million times better than liquid prep."

For Bowel Preparation "I was given a choice of liquid or tablet. I chose the Sutab. The doctor said to eat my normal diet until noon the day before the colonoscopy and make sure I drink a lot of clear liquids. I panicked a bit when I saw the size of the tablets, but they went down easily. I spaced out the first 12 tablets in 15-20 minutes, followed by 32 oz of water. I felt a little queasy for about 10 minutes, but it passed. The second dose was just as easy. They worked in 2 hours after the first tablets. The doctor said the prep was perfect. I would do this prep again."

For Bowel Preparation "I have lost track of how many bowel preps I’ve done at this point, but compared to the salty drink I had during my first colonoscopy when I was 16, I was excited when I was told they have pills for the prep for my surgery tomorrow. I literally just had to do this for a colonoscopy 2 months ago and had to drink one of the liquids, so I am unfortunately a frequent flyer when it comes to these. I don’t remember what time I took the doses - I honestly just estimated the times I was supposed to take them based on my check-in time in the early morning. Took me about 90 seconds to take all 12 pills each time. I love water, so drinking water all day (plus bone broth for protein) was also easy. No cramps, nausea, or any other adverse side effects. Been peeing out of my rear end and it’s now yellow (that’s the sign you’re ready)."

For Bowel Preparation "I have issues with slow motility and was concerned that this wasn't going to work. I didn't do the 3-day diet prep because I forgot about it. I started the first dose at 6 pm and followed the directions. Nothing by 10 pm except a lot of bloating and some nausea, took two additional Dulcolax. Started watery elimination. I figured I should have started the second dose earlier, so I started at 1 am. Honestly, I will do the regular prep the next time. My co-pay was a little pricey, and I don't like the bloating and nausea."

For Bowel Preparation "Excellent outcome using Sutab for prep. Personal experience, results may vary. Day before, had eggs, toast, and bacon for breakfast at 8 am, fasting began after that. Prescribed Zofran to take with my prep. I chose not to take it unless necessary, and it was not. Later that day took round 1 of the pills at 5 pm. Round 2 started at 6 am the day of the colonoscopy, for an 11 am procedure. The pills were not hard to swallow (and I suck at taking pills). No major nausea, no bloating, no vomiting. Definitely felt off, but that is to be expected when you shock purge your digestive system from top to bottom. Prep took about an hour to start working, couple trips to the bathroom after each round. Nothing was urgent or uncontrollable. My blood pressure was elevated in recovery, and I was given IV fluids to resolve. I thought I drank enough extra fluid to stay hydrated, but I was wrong. The physician said the prep was very good and that my colon was free of any issues."

For Bowel Preparation "Best colonoscopy prep I’ve ever used. No cramps, only mild nausea taking the 2nd dose. Did not have the urgency to run to the bathroom like other preps. 5 days before procedure on a low residue diet, then clear liquid diet the day before. Insurance didn’t cover it, but the doctor’s office gave me a coupon. The $50 was well worth it."

For Bowel Preparation "Took Sutab to prepare for my colonoscopy on Friday. The good: VERY easy to take, no bigger than a multivitamin and has no flavor; just have to drink it with lots of water, which you should be having anyway. I was prescribed Zofran (anti-nausea) and took one tablet 1 1/2 hours before I started, didn't have any problem with nausea, vomiting, or cramps. Took about 2 1/2 hours to kick in; I was fully evacuated by about 8 hours later. The bad: It didn't clean me out as completely as the Miralax prep I did 10 years prior. Still had little bits of residue coming out right before my colonoscopy. Doctor noted that my prep was 'acceptable' but remarked that there was still fecal matter present. I followed the instructions to the letter, so that's on the Sutab, I guess. Bottom (ha ha) line: Sutab did well enough for me, but the Miralax prep cleaned me out better. If you use Sutab, start a low-residue diet starting 5 days before, get some anti-nausea meds and hydrate!!"

For Bowel Preparation "It’s a colonoscopy prep. It’s no fun, but Sutab makes it a heck of a lot easier. 3rd colonoscopy, first with Sutab. Took the pills, drank the water, no cramping, no nausea, over by 10 pm. Slept well, had the colonoscopy, back to normal the same day. Way better than liquid preps. Highly recommend. Heard a lot of the people at the facility who were also having colonoscopies saying the same thing."

For Bowel Preparation "I never cared for the prep drink. I can do it without fuss, but I don't like it in the least, and up until recently, wasn't aware of any other alternative. After getting the Sutab, I came online to read all the horrible reviews here, so I was questioning if I shouldn't have just gone with the drink again. So glad I didn't. Starting 3 days before the procedure, I started a low-fiber/residue diet and stayed well hydrated. Had absolutely zero issues with the first 12 Sutab pills, I even took them rather quickly (less than 5 min for all 12 and the water). Within an hour, they started to work and was 'cleansed out' about 4 hours after starting them. For the second dose, I had read that I wasn't supposed to take them so quickly, so I set a timer and took one every 2 min. The 16 oz of water was perfect for taking all 12, followed up with the additional 32 oz as directed, and had zero issues: no bloating, no cramping, no nausea. It's the most pleasant experience I can imagine for what it is."

For Bowel Preparation "Started prep at 4 PM (liquid diet all day). Taking the first 12 pills was not difficult, but after like number 9/10 my stomach was starting to feel a little bit yucky, but I got through it. About an hour to an hour and a half later, I thought I was gonna be sick. I felt nauseous, but thankfully that stopped; the diarrhea started. Finally, after about 4 hours, I wasn't running to the bathroom every 2 to 3 minutes. Then at midnight, the other 12 pills, and I felt OK doing it. It took me about 23 or 24 minutes to get them all down. Less than an hour later, I was in the bathroom, vomiting terribly. It was just yellow bile. Hopefully, the procedure will go ahead ok."

For Bowel Preparation "This was my first colonoscopy, and I was very happy to have a pill option for the prep. Taking both doses was pretty easy and without side effects. (Had the slightest hint of nausea with the second dose, but it passed quickly.) It took about 2 1/2 hours after completing the first dose to see results, which lasted a couple of hours. I was able to sleep a few hours, then completed the second dose. That one had results after 1 hour and lasted about 2 hours again. For pre-prep, I did an entirely liquid diet the day before. The day before that, I avoided high-residue foods. I did fail to avoid strawberries and raspberries for 3-5 days prior. Apparently, those seeds stick in your intestines and create an annoyance/blindness during the procedure."
