For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "I've had HSV-2 genital herpes for 6 years now & as soon as I found out, I searched the internet for forums and medical advice to help myself live as comfortably as possible with this irritable condition. I started taking 1000mg of L-lysine daily with 500mg of Gigartina Red Marine Algae capsules and added 1 capsule of Extra Strength ViraStop 2, and boy, I tell you; no outbreaks since my initial discovery that my boyfriend gave it to me during an annual pap smear. Those 3 supplements together KILL THAT VIRUS!!!! I hope they never stop making those supplements because they keep me OUTBREAK, ITCH, BURN, YEAST-FREE. Thank GOD for new holistic vitamins because I'm not going to embarrass myself by getting Valtrex at my local pharmacy."

For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "I've known I had both oral and genital herpes for over 20 years. At first, I had outbreaks several times a year. Later, I started taking L-Lysine daily after a friend suggested it. The outbreak I was having at that time was of lesser intensity and duration than others I had before. I started taking 2 500mg pills every day. I could miss a day or two with no problems, and I had no outbreaks. I stopped for a while and had an outbreak. I noticed that the outbreak was preceded by a strange itch in the same location. The next time I stopped my daily regimen, I always kept some L-Lysine with me. When I felt the itch again, I took 3 500mg L-Lysine right away... the itch went away, and no outbreak followed. Try it yourself."

For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "I got my second outbreak without realizing it was herpes, and at first it didn't look like it, just some hard spots that itched and turned into sores as I scratched them up and hurt a little bit. A couple of days later, the blisters started appearing... and I finally realized: it's herpes. I looked up stuff online, and I went to a herbal shop the day after and got myself a bottle of lysine. I have also been using a piece of cotton drenched in alcohol that I put in between my butt cheeks for an hour or so (not sure if this actually did anything, but it was supposed to help for itching and pain). Six hours later, the blisters had gone a lot flatter and more purple/red-ish. Twelve hours after taking the pills, they were almost completely flat and almost not visible, plus the pain stopped for the most part. Twenty-four hours after I took them, I can barely see the blisters anymore even though I can feel them slightly, but they're about to heal up. So happy!"

For Herpes Simplex (HSV) "I have HSV1 on genitals from oral sex. I was in denial. I had 3 red spots in labia majora, turned to ulcer state, terrible burn during urination, crazy tingly itchy, and red swollen vulva. Suffered a week. I read about lysine, took 3, 1000 mg per day. After 3 days, marked reduction, almost gone."

For Herpes Simplex (HSV) "I've gotten cold sores since I was young. It's a common thing among a lot of people, but it happens to me normally once a year around winter. My lips end up drying out, and when they get chapped, that's when a cold sore ends up forming. I am not completely sure why, but whatever makes it lay dormant gets aggravated. I actually went to a local drug store to get a cold sore treatment when I found Lysine. Unfortunately, I didn't catch it in time, but it took the pain and itching away almost immediately. It's shortened the amount of time it would normally take a cold sore to heal when the blisters have already formed. It's better than the other products I have used and a lot more efficient."

"I have chronic shingles. I had them for years before I was diagnosed. My doctor put me on daily suppression of Acyclovir, which works great, but a couple of times a year, they flare up, especially when I'm super stressed. I recently had a flare-up and called my doc, she suggested this supplement. Wow, what a difference! It helped with the pain, itching, and heal time. I won't be using it daily but will keep it on hand for flare-ups. It cut my heal time in half. Also, the protein arginine can make shingles or cold sores worse, so avoid arginine-rich foods like chocolate, nuts, gelatin, chickpeas, lentils, and eggs. This should help reduce breakouts."

For Herbal Supplementation "960 mg was taken twice daily for 2 weeks and completely took away all signs of an 8 years fungal infection, which continually broke out anywhere on my body at any given time and was severely itchy. We've been graced with natural supplements. They do work."

For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "Been taking lysine for 2 years. Noticed an increase in outbreaks (HSV2). Symptoms and itchiness were lasting a lot longer. Currently having an outbreak. Not using lysine this time and I don’t even notice I’m having an outbreak until I look at it and safely apply Aquaphor to the affected area. Aquaphor is a way better home remedy."
