For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "I got my second outbreak without realizing it was herpes, and at first it didn't look like it, just some hard spots that itched and turned into sores as I scratched them up and hurt a little bit. A couple of days later, the blisters started appearing... and I finally realized: it's herpes. I looked up stuff online, and I went to a herbal shop the day after and got myself a bottle of lysine. I have also been using a piece of cotton drenched in alcohol that I put in between my butt cheeks for an hour or so (not sure if this actually did anything, but it was supposed to help for itching and pain). Six hours later, the blisters had gone a lot flatter and more purple/red-ish. My lips end up drying out, and when they get chapped, that's when a cold sore ends up forming. I am not completely sure why, but whatever makes it lay dormant gets aggravated. "I have chronic shingles. I had them for years before I was diagnosed. My doctor put me on daily suppression of Acyclovir, which works great, but a couple of times a year, they flare up, especially when I'm super stressed. I recently had a flare-up and called my doc, she suggested this supplement. Wow, what a difference! It helped with the pain, itching, and heal time. I won't be using it daily but will keep it on hand for flare-ups. It cut my heal time in half. For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "Been taking lysine for 2 years. Noticed an increase in outbreaks (HSV2). Symptoms and itchiness were lasting a lot longer. Currently having an outbreak. Not using lysine this time and I don’t even notice I’m having an outbreak until I look at it and safely apply Aquaphor to the affected area. Aquaphor is a way better home remedy."
