I am making sure to eat a little something low cal, low fat, and low carbs every two hours. Never hungry, slightly tired, and a little bit of nausea after I ate lunch. However, I'm very excited about how I end up in a week."

Lorcaserin for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I tried this medication twice. The first time I started at 164 and lost to 157 and then stopped; however, it helped me maintain the 157. I am 5'2" at 59 years. The first three days had a severe headache, but then, like magic, it went away. My insurance wouldn't pay for the medication after 9 months because I didn't lose any more weight. I then tried again about 6 months later; my doctor recommended it again, and I started at 167 and lost to 163 and stopped losing. I also, this time, began to feel very tired and depressed and realized after about three weeks that suicidal and depression are side effects, so I had to stop taking it. Now I am at 176 on my scales; on doctors, I am 180, and this is all in approximately 18 months."

Lorcaserin for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq last night. I was told to take one 20 mg pill before bed. The reason is because my doctor said one of the side effects is being tired. Well, I barely slept 6 hours. I had opposite effects. However, I felt slightly dizzy, achy (even my hands hurt), and had cold-like symptoms. I don't know if the sneezing and coughing are a coincidence or a side effect. I have read it is, but I only had the one pill. We went to dinner tonight. After I ate, I got sick to my stomach and needed to lay down. I'm having the hardest time losing weight. I have been on a lot of different supplements. I'm not sure this is worth it."

Have had headaches, issues with balance, a feeling of not connecting to my own thoughts or words, eating more, gained 3 pounds... And today the exhaustion was so bad I fell asleep behind the wheel of my car twice on a short trip to my grandparents' house. I left a message with my doctor's office and will follow up tomorrow. Take the side effects seriously. I have never had issues like this with a medication."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking Belviq for about 5 days now. The first day, I felt great! Over the weekend, I felt really sick and weak and extremely tired, dizzy, nauseous, and had head and body aches. I am on 10 mg twice daily. I have not noticed it suppressing my appetite. I feel like I crave food more than before I started the Belviq. Before I started Belviq, I reduced my calorie intake to 1,400 calories a day and lost about 5 pounds over a 3 to 4 week span. No weight loss as of yet. I feel better now than over the weekend, but I still feel weak, my muscles are sore, and I have a headache. I guess time will tell if this is going to work for me. Thank goodness it is covered by my insurance, I just have a $40.00 copay."

It also made me feel extremely tired all the time. Because this medication was not covered by insurance, with the Belviq discount card I still paid about $100 per month for it. I took this medication for three months. What a waste of my hard-earned money."

Lorcaserin for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After 1 dose of Belviq XR, within a couple of hours, I had every single side effect. Cold symptoms, dizziness, inner ear issues, lethargy, severe headache, swollen feet and hands, scratchy throat, brain fog. Had all of these flu symptoms, so I assumed that it was the actual flu and not side effects. Then I noticed the itching that others reported. I noticed swelling in my feet and hands - severe swelling. Hurt to put my shoes on. Body aches, joint pain. My mind is mush. All of these are typical side effects of the medication according to the manufacturer. What is ‘typical’ about feeling sick? I ended up having to go home from work because I was not able to function. Basically, I am out 2 days of work, $145 for medication I am not taking, $100 to see the doctor for a flu test (I don’t have the flu, I have side effects)."

I reached out to my doctor for help with weight loss because I quit taking my Adderall in March of 2015. I was a size 4-6. Maybe 135 lbs. I'm 33 years old and do not have a family history of obesity, but once I got off the Adderall, that's when my weight got out of control! I went to a size 16 and now weigh 223 lbs! So yesterday, the Belviq didn't work much. I was so tired. All I did was stay in bed. I took my first dose around 11 a.m. I took my second dose at 7 p.m. I ate 2 Go-Gurts, 2 hotdogs, and a plate of spaghetti. Then I fell asleep because it made me so sleepy. I didn't wake up until 1:18 p.m. today! Today was better. Less appetite, still tired, but less appetite!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am starting my third week on Belviq. I am down almost 7 lbs. Side effects at first were feeling very tired, feeling cold, and dry mouth. I still seem to have low energy and can't seem to exercise with the strength I had before. None are bad enough to quit at this point. It has totally diminished my appetite and craving for carbs. That alone is worth the $200/mo I am currently paying."

Lorcaserin for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I tried Belviq for obesity last year in 2017, and it did give me a fast heart rate and made me super tired. It did not curb my appetite in the slightest. It was very expensive $$$ and just a waste of my money and my time. I did print out coupons that would say 80% off, but the pharmacy would not honor them. I even had a free Belviq coupon that they would not honor. Totally not satisfied at all. :("

Lorcaserin for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have taken Belviq for two weeks, only lost 2 pounds. Belviq has no effect on me. I cut grass to help make extra money on the side. That's the only time I see any weight lost. I was doing that before Belviq. This medicine has slowed me down, makes me tired. I exercise less with Belviq. I can't believe they want 200 dollars for these pills, not worth it. All diets, if you exercise and eat right, work without the pills. Belviq doesn't even curb my appetite. Very disappointing. The chest and body pain are scary."

Lorcaserin for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I got Belviq free trial last year, and I'm glad I did. The cost of them is very expensive. My experience with these pills was in minutes. I got bad headaches and felt very tired, yawning a whole lot. I wouldn't recommend these pills to anyone."

But I will say I was scared to even take this after all the side effects I read on this page.
