For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a 61-year-old male, 5'7'. My weight when I started on August 29th, 2019, was 204. Today, I am down to 196. 2 lbs per week, which I am very happy with. My goal weight is 165-170, hopefully, in another 15 weeks, I will hit my goal weight. My diet since I started has not changed drastically, I eat the same food but cut my portion size in half, cut my calorie intake in half. From about 2400 per day to 1200. I am not a junk food eater in between meals. I usually have 2 pieces of rye toast dry for breakfast, a protein bar for lunch, and anything I want for dinner, just only eat half. I was a big Snapple iced tea drinker, and now it's water or club soda. As for how Belviq affects me, it has totally removed any hunger thoughts, I literally have to remind myself to eat. No side effects at all, the first couple of days, I may have felt a little sluggish, but nothing that changed my day-to-day activities/routine. My insurance had to approve, so I pay $40 a month for 60 pills, one in the morning and one in the evening."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took a trial of Belviq last year with no side effects. I just filled the prescription and experienced several side effects. Wondering if anyone else has experienced: overly tired, fatigue, feeling like I'm catching a cold or flu. It's only been 2 days."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Well... I read the bad reviews but decided to take it anyway. BIG MISTAKE! I realize not everyone has had these effects, but I’m sharing what I went through. Day one: very foggy-headed, dizziness, and nausea. Day two: I was overwhelmed with extreme fatigue and still dizzy, foggy-headed, nausea, plus a really bad headache. Day three: took Advil with it and no headache, not as foggy, still a little dizzy and nauseous, but no more than if I had a mild ear infection. Manageable. Day four: I noticed hot flashes and chills... weird. But I’ve not been hungry at all, and the previous symptoms are now quite manageable. I feel like I’ve got a grip on things now. I’m ok. Day five: I start feeling agitated. I feel extremely insecure. Day six: I can’t stop crying, why am I crying so much? Still extremely agitated and so incredibly insecure. Still not hungry. Day seven: Depressive dark thoughts. I’m done!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Well, I've been using Belviq XR for a week now. The first two days, I experienced dizziness and headaches, but by day four, I didn't have those symptoms. It definitely has suppressed my appetite, I find myself forcing myself to eat. Fatigue is a side effect, but I think the fatigue is attributed to the lack of caloric intake, especially since I exercise regularly. So, it's important to eat even if you have no appetite. So, in a week, I've lost five pounds so far, so good. :)"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq 10 mg 2x daily yesterday (May 14th, 2016). I have battled my weight since my hysterectomy three years ago. I was 177 last month, now I am back at 181. I will check in weekly to update my progress. I am very optimistic about Belviq. I did start a new eating habit of 1,200 calories a day, I have found this way easier than counting carbs. I use an app on my phone, it keeps up with everything. I am very tired and felt very dizzy yesterday, but today is much better. I take Vyvanse for my ADD, so this may help even out the fatigue."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm 5'4" and 165 lbs, on thyroid meds, and have not been able to lose the weight from my last child. I took Qsymia a year ago and lost 15 lbs in 3 months, but the side effects were insomnia, which I've never had in my life, and dry mouth. Cost per month was nearly $300.00, not covered by insurance. I gained half the weight back and decided to try a different medication. Now on Belviq XR, my Dr. gave me a discount card, and it only costs $98.00 as opposed to $300.00. I have been taking it for 4 days and have lost 3 lbs! It has not curbed my eating, although I do feel that my appetite is suppressed. I have not had issues sleeping, but my muscles do feel sore, and I am a bit sluggish at times during the day. I have felt like I'm about to get a UTI for a few days now. I also had a few times standing up where I felt dizzy. Those are all the side effects I've experienced."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Ugh. In a word. I wish I could get a refund for Belviq. I only took the morning pill for 3 days. Skipped the afternoon dose because I was so fatigued and had dizziness and vertigo all day long! The headaches went away. Although it did suppress my appetite, I just don't think I can continue. Good luck to those still trying."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a 52-year-old that had a 38-pound weight gain in 13 months (menopausal). Had to start a second blood pressure med and have terrible joint pain from all that extra weight. I started Belviq last week but stopped after 3 days. The second day, I had a very bad headache that wouldn't go away. I have migraines and chronic headaches, so I think I have a high tolerance, but this was pretty bad. I got through the headache and was relieved it ended. But then I had the worst fatigue and felt horrendous when I was at work. Going to try to start one pill a day again."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking Belviq for 1 month, but I'm going to stop because the side effects are too much. The first week I experienced extreme dizziness, fatigue, and muscle soreness. I powered through, and the dizziness finally went away. However, the extreme fatigue and muscle soreness were too much. I tried only one pill a day, but it didn't help the side effects. I stopped taking Belviq three days ago, and the muscle soreness is completely gone, and the fatigue is better. I was so tired I couldn't even work a full day and didn't have the energy to hardly walk. However, it was effective at weight loss. I lost 4% of my body weight the first month."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq one week ago, I got on the scale, I'm 3 lbs up. My legs have been swollen since yesterday. I feel dizzy and fatigued taking it. I've been eating less and exercising at least 3 times in the past week. I don't think this pill is for me. I'm feeling uncomfortable with swollen legs, it's scary. I will call my physician tomorrow to see what I can do for this to go away, but I won't take another pill after this."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on Belviq for 6 weeks now. I wanted so much for this to work, so I endured the dizziness, extreme fatigue, foggy brain, memory problems, and even an increase in my irregular heartbeat, hoping they would decrease and the Belviq would work. They did not, and I've experienced no improvement in appetite control. The worst part is I've been treated for clinical depression and had to go off the meds that had been helping me in order to take Belviq. The antidepressant effects of Belviq never kicked in for me, and I've been miserable. I'm glad it helps some people, but I wanted to write this review for people who are being treated for depression before trying the Belviq. Proceed cautiously. It may not be for you."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Beware. Started this drug 6 days ago along with diet and exercise. I lost 8 lbs in 5 days. My side effects were severe cough, dizziness, headache, fatigue, and flu-like symptoms. On day 5, I didn't like how I was feeling. I decided to stop taking it. I didn't think it was worth waiting for those effects to go away, even if they did. My cough subsided quite a bit in such a short time. Today, day 6, the start of my second day without the pill, I awoke this morning, sat on the bed, and started to cough. I started to gasp for breath, and there was no air. Several minutes later, I was wondering why my eyebrow and cheek, along with my body, hurt. I opened my eyes and realized I blacked out and was lying face down on the wood floor. Run."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq 3 weeks ago, and it was the worst medication I've ever been on! If you have tendinitis of any sort, DO NOT take this!!! I couldn't use my arm or walk without crying. I am a hairstylist who uses my arms/stands up 12 hours a day! My joints were so inflamed and I haven't had a flare-up in 2 years prior to taking this! Not to mention, in 3 weeks I gained 4 lbs! I only took this because BCBS wouldn't cover the one I needed because it was more expensive. Oh, and fatigue/vomiting like no other! I went off of it yesterday! Totally not worth it!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a 48-year-old female weighing 205 lbs (the most I have ever weighed in my life). My doctor recommended Belviq XR (20 mg) once daily, which he felt was a good option for me since I have high blood pressure. I am also doing WW in conjunction with the med. I began the med on 5/11, today is 5/14 (4 days on it today). On Day 1 and Day 2, I experienced extreme fatigue, mental fogginess, and a low-grade headache. On Day 3, those side effects subsided until I went to bed last night and woke up from what seemed to be hallucinogenic nightmares. It was so bizarre. My dreams were very vivid and lifelike, and I woke up several times during the night. I took Advil, and it stopped, and finally I could go back to sleep. To date, I lost 3 pounds in 4 days, so it seems to be working, but not sure if I can stay on Belviq with the side effects, the interruption of sleep, and nightmares. It is quite scary to experience. I am hoping it subsides."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Like many, I had a bad experience with Belviq. First off, let me say I took this drug without food. After 5 hours later, I felt as if I voluntarily drugged myself, I experienced extreme fatigue, weakness, and a massive headache that lay up to 2 days. (It felt like I had a hangover, I could barely walk.) I took this drug on Wednesday, February 28, at 8:30 am. At that point, I knew I would throw away the drug. Then I decided to give the drug another try, but with food. This is when I discovered I am one of the people who have to take this with food and not on an empty stomach. What a big difference! No fatigue or weakness, no hangover feeling, and definitely no headaches. So I’m deciding to keep the drug because it did still curb my appetite, and I do want to add, though I experienced just wanting to rest and sleep, I was okay with that."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took Belviq twice a day for a week. I am 60+ pounds overweight and have fibromyalgia. By the 3rd day, I was in so much pain I could barely walk. I could not get out of bed because I was so fatigued. I am a morning person, getting up at 5 a.m. I didn't step on the scales until the 7th day. Guess what, I gained 2.5 pounds! I started feeling like I was seeing things, such as someone standing beside me, and had trouble concentrating at work. My insurance paid for this medication, so my co-pay was only $45. Thank goodness! I don't take many drugs, even though they are prescribed. But with fibromyalgia, I do feel that this medication exacerbated the symptoms by 10 times. I have been off them for 3 days now and beginning to feel somewhat better."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq XR 20 mg morning— Day 1 experience dizziness, fatigue, slight headache, and racing heart 96 resting / up to 108 with movement. Day 2 my symptoms were dizziness and slight headache. Seven days later—I continue to take the medication and the only symptom I have is dizziness. I contacted my dr because this medicine has not suppressed my appetite at all—so he is planning to switch me to something else."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "The first week on the pill was terrible. I had bad headaches and a general sick-to-the-stomach feeling, then it subsided. I was never hungry the whole time but felt so tired. This pill made me feel drained from sun up to sun down. I couldn't bring myself to exercise the way I wanted because of the fatigue. I didn't continue Belviq after the first month due to the tired feeling. I'm sure I could have lost much more weight if not for the fatigue."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a 5'2" 38-year-old woman. I've been on Belviq for 1 month. I am 175 lbs. I haven't lost any weight on Belviq. I had a slight headache for the first two days, deep sleep and fatigue for 2 weeks, and then insomnia. Weird. I haven't noticed a change in appetite. If anything, I want to eat more. I refilled the prescription and will try taking both pills at once. I hope that makes a difference."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Used a 'card' that is available on the Belviq site, brought it down from over $300 to $98.00. Have been taking it for 10 days - the only thing different I feel is being extremely tired and dizziness. If I don't feel anything soon about 'feeling full' or cravings, I'm going to stop taking it. It's not worth the fatigue!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I just started the drug three days ago. I did have headaches, although it may have been from sugar withdrawal. Fatigue was an issue. I am still hungry, but I watch what I eat. The drug allows a fullness much quicker. I have had a gastro bypass 20 years ago. I feel it's helpful. I will write my progress."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've taken Belviq XR for the last 5 nights. I had hoped any dizziness or other reactions would happen while I slept. I am noticing extreme fatigue, aching in my neck, lower back, and knees, and all over wobbliness. I haven't lost any weight yet, as I am too tired to exercise. The cost for 30 days was $315 with a coupon. Quite expensive to feel like rubbish and no weight loss."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am 5 ft 5 in & 158. I fight hypothyroidism & Hashimoto's & have also gone through 5 years of fertility medicines. My usual weight is 138. My doctor & I didn’t care to get me down to that weight - we were hoping for high 140s, something a bit safer due to being pre-diabetic & high cholesterol. With menopause knocking on my door, weight loss is near impossible (I even work with a trainer 3 times a week!). Anyway, this medicine was BRUTAL for me. I had the same experience as someone above: slept like a rock (I usually wake up at 6 am, but couldn’t get up until 8:30 am), started craving & eating JUNK that I’d never eat before, chills, fatigue, some nausea & my breasts weren’t swollen but they were incredibly sore to the point where I couldn't sleep on my belly. I was SO ineffective & lazy (which isn't me), I stopped the medication because I had also GAINED 4 pounds in 1.5 weeks. (I only took it for 9 days!). The withdrawal after only 9 days has me with horrific vertigo. Ugh. AWFUL. So glad I’m off it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I did not lose a single pound during the 15-day free trial. I ached all over, muscle aches, pains, general malaise. Decided not to continue after the free trial, and let me just say that the withdrawals from this drug are horrendous. Had high hopes for Belviq, but seriously thought I was going to have to go to the emergency room the second day after I stopped taking it. Had a racing heartbeat occasionally while taking it."
