Reviews for Lorcaserin

Belviq (lorcaserin): "I have been using this Belviq since March. I was lucky enough to not have any side effects for the last three months. The first month was good and I lost a total of 8lbs along with diet and exercise. But my weight loss stopped there. I am still doing the same diet and exercise regimen but have not lost any other weight. I am at a stand still. I don't think I will be continuing this drug as it is expensive and I am not seeing the results I need."

Belviq (lorcaserin): "I am 5'4" and need to lose 50 pounds to get to a weight that I think I will be very happy with. I have been on Belviq for 2 1/2 weeks and have lost 8 pounds. I am eating much smaller portions because I feel full thankfully and the biggest miracle is that I don't have any cravings - even sweets! The first few days on it I was nauseous and feeling tired but then that passed and for the most part, I'm just achy. Particularly my lower back and knees. That's not necessarily unusual from time to time, but this is every day and more intense. I have had no headaches, mood swings or feeling high that some people have reported. With my discount card from their website, in Atlanta, I pay $115 per month as my ins. does not cover any drugs like this. I'm excited and hope to continue the 3 pound a week loss - I'll take it! Good luck to everyone - it's certainly a journey!"

Belviq XR (lorcaserin): "I am a 48 yr old female weighing 205lbs (the most I have ever weighed in my life). My doctor recommended Belviq XR (20mg) once daily, which he felt was a good option for me since I have high blood pressure. I am also doing WW in conjunction with the med. I began the med on 5/11, today is 5/14 (4 days on it today). On Day 1 & Day 2 I experienced extreme fatigue, mental fogginess & a low grade headache. On day 3 those side effects subsided until I went to bed last night & woke up from what seemed to be hallucinogenic nightmares. It was so bizarre. My dreams were very vivid & lifelike and I woke up several times during the night. I took Advil and it stopped and finally I could go back to sleep. To date, I lost 3 pounds in 4 days so it seems to be working but not sure if I can stay on Belviq with the side effects the interruption of sleep & nightmares. It is quite scary to experience. I am hoping it subsides."

"I've been taking lorcaserin for about 4 years, I am a diabetic and weighed over 200 lbs, 5'5 female so want to lose weight. I did not have any side effects mentioned. I lost 25 pounds in about 6 months. The biggest problem is the price. It is over 140 dollars with manufactures coupon system. I am getting near retirement and Medicare will not allow this drug or coupons to apply. So soon it will be over $700 a month and that is not possible. The second problem is it stops working and 5 to 10 lbs will quickly pile back on even with serious attempts at dieting. Just like it left, it soon begin working again. It is strange. But I am happy I found this drug and I have lost weight. I realize my body can do it. I am not sure how I will be when it is totally out of my system and I can only hope the time of patent will soon wear down and a generic version will be affordable and available"

Belviq (lorcaserin): "Not sure if anyone actually reads these but here is a follow up to my post last month. Today is day 48 and I am down 23 pounds. All side effects except my back pain are all but gone. The back pain is still bad at times. I still feel a little foggy but not so much that it affects me. I started intermittent fasting on 4/29/2019 so we will see how that works along with the medication. I make good food choices in more fruits and veggies and no fast foods. I still have no desire for sweets which was my biggest issue."

Belviq (lorcaserin): "Side effects for me from Belviq are terrible, I have no energy whatsoever, migraines, and get light headed and dizzy a lot . On the brightside, I have been losing around 5lbs a week. But I honestly think that is out of pure will power because of the price for this medication. My insurance covered $196 of it but it’s still $124 afterwards if you don’t have a copay card that brigs it down to $40. I’m extremely disappointed and plan to quit the medication after speaking with my doctor. The side effects aren’t worth it for me."

Belviq (lorcaserin): "I lost over 60 pounds in just a couple of months on this drug. It changed my life until my gallbladder had to come out. A few months post surgery, I started gaining weight rapidly so I resumed the medication but it caused my belly to swell a couple of inches with pain. Once I quit taking it, I gained 90 pounds within six months. I’m hoping I can resume it again after my body readjusts but I may need to find something else that works."

Belviq (lorcaserin): "when i saw the price, I quickly realized how I will lose weight. I won't be able to afford groceries. $360/month, but with the discount, $180, geez what a deal, $6 a pill!!!"

Belviq (lorcaserin): "Belviq was a dream come true, as far as, weight loss. Initially, I had no side effects; no insomnia, no head aches -nothing. In about 4 months, I had lost 30 pounds, with no change of eating habits - other than, I wasn't hungry. I was estatic! Around that time though, I did start noticing real mental fogginess. My memory was really affected - and it affected me at work. After stopping it for approx. 2 weeks, I began again - and that side effect appeared to be gone. However, when I had annual blood work done - my liver enzymes were extremely high, so I stopped it all together. My blood work is back to normal now. For weight loss - it was awesome, but the eventual side effects, were serious enough to make me quit taking it."

Belviq (lorcaserin): "I have been taking Belviq to loss weight. I take 20mg twice a day and have lost 1.5 lbs. I have has NO side effects what so ever accept being just a little more tired than normal but still have the energy to hit the gym and get my work done. I am barely now starting to notice the appetite decrease. I guess it just takes time to build in your brain/system. I was really scared about taking the medication at first and actually put it off for over 3 weeks due to all the horrifying reviews I had read, but I though well what the heck I need help and consider all the other weight loss drugs have potentially worse side affects , it was worth a shot."

Belviq (lorcaserin): "Day 3 of Belviq, appetite curbed. Down 2 pounds. As far as side effects, I am experiencing extreme fatigue, thirst and cold chills. Hopefully they will pass within a few weeks. Had to pay $130 so I am going to give it a fair try. So far seems to be doing what it should. Now if I can get over being so dang tired."

Belviq XR (lorcaserin): "Like many I had a bad experience with belviq. First off let me say I took this drug without food. After 5 hr later I felt as if I voluntarily drugged myself, I experienced extreme fatigue , weakness and massive headache that lay up to 2 day.. ( it felt like I had a hangover, I could barely walk. I took this drug on Wednesday February 28 8:30am. That point I knew I would throw away the drug . Then I decide to give drug another try but with food. This is when I discovered I am one of the people who HAVE to take this with food and not on an empty stomach. What a big difference, no fatigue or weakness and no hangover feeling and definitely no headaches.. So I’m deciding to keep the drug, because it did still curb my appetite and I do want to add though I experienced just wanting to rest and sleep, I was ok with that."

"Today is day 4 and I'm starting to doubt this medication. Zero side effects for me but I feel more hungry now than I did without the meds. I will stick it out for the 2 weeks and hope to see a change. I have gained 2lbs in the 4 days taking this. Does anyone else have this same issue?"

Belviq (lorcaserin): "Today is my 10th day on belviq. For a few days I felt a dizzy and felt overly cheerful and chatty. When I didn't feel any symptoms anymore I figured it wasn't working. I felt that way because I didn't feel jittery or high like some other diet pills would make a person feel. But in 10 days on belviq I'm down 12 pounds. I eat what I want for dinner (but a much smaller portion) and am careful about eating only healthy foods for breakfast, lunch & snacks. A week into starting the pills that the only effect it's having on me is suppressing my appetite, which I think is great! Ii sometimes have to force myself to eat because don't feel hungry. This pill doesn't keep me up at night. I honestly sleep better now than I did before the pills. I'm happy with my results so far will starting the gym soon. I'm very happy with this medication."

Belviq (lorcaserin): "I bought Belviq while in Mexico. I lost 40 lbs without consciously changing my diet. I wasn't aware of any side effects all. The only change I noticed was that I'd lose interest in my meal about half way through. I highly recommend it and I feel bad for the people who can't take it or for whom it is ineffective. BTW I don't think you can get this Mexico anymore :("

Belviq (lorcaserin): "I've on the medicine for over a month, I haven't lost any weight at all. Any drug that just "curbs" your appetite in my opinion is a waste of time. People usually don't eat because they're hungry, they eat because they like the taste of what they're eating and they eat out of habit."

Belviq (lorcaserin): "I just begin taking Belviq today. My ONLY side effect is feeling in a euphoria, high or extra good mood. Should I be concerned? This feeling has helped my mind refrain from emotional eating (in my opinion) because I feel so good my thoughts are not on food but happy things. Should I stop taking it?"

Belviq (lorcaserin): "I am 5'7 and I weigh 225 pounds. I have high blood pressure and diabetes. I am a emotional eater and the pass few years have been the worse years of my entire life. So since I have been depressed I eat. I have tried contrave in the past and it gave me the worse migraines ever. After some therapy and some antidepressants my Dr. decided to put me on Belviq. I only been on it for 4 days now. I have no bad side effects only that it makes me feel sooooo sleepy all the time I have no energy at all, and it does not curb my appetite as I'm still hungry all the time. I will not quit though I will give it 2 weeks and see what happens. I will update then. I have not loss 1 pound I probably gained weight."

Belviq XR (lorcaserin): "I have been taking Belviq XR for a week. I noticed since I started taking it I have been very cold and drowsy, and I also have dry mouth quite often. I feel the side effects are worth it, because I've lost 4 pounds. I don't want to binge eat all day like I did before I started taking Belviq, I am satisfied with lunch and dinner."

Belviq (lorcaserin): "Lost 4 lbs in 2 weeks. However, the side effects are too much to go through. They were intense for me. I only took Belviq. I would feel so high and out of it at work. My eyelids were so heavy one day, I felt like I was slowly dying on this medication. I would continue to do my hour long cardio workouts that usually get me huffing and puffing, but on Belviq, I do not lose my breath, it is like my heart stands still. At night, I would wake up 2 times thinking it was time to get up. At work, I am super busy and work with the public and am on my feet and active all day, but for the past two weeks my performance has suffered because I get so tired at work all I want to do is go home and lay down. My shoulders hurt on these meds. Why? My emotions are also upside down on these meds, and I have no patience with my family or clients. This stuff is intense. My Dr. Is just going to put me back on Phentermine today. That stuff is nothing compared to this as far as side effects."

Belviq (lorcaserin): "I am a 30 year old female. I started taking BELVIQ on 11/12/18 I was 220 pounds. I weighed myself this morning and I weigh 216. I would say with a pound a day so far it is working pretty well. I work sitting at a desk for 10 hours a day so not much exercise in my life. I also have only taken a total of 5 pills instead of the eight I should have taken so far. I will update next week."

Belviq XR (lorcaserin): "I generally tolerate all medications well and was surprised how awful I felt on Belviq. Within a few days of starting it I came down with what I thought was a virus. Body aches, chills and nausea. I kept on the Belviq since I had just started it. I spoke about this to my doctor and he said to give it another week or two. Then the aches, chills and nausea came again. I also felt that the product did not work. I got an additional headache in the evening and then was ravenous. I stopped the Belviq and the symptoms went away."
