For ADHD "I had taken Vyvanse as a kid, worked great for a bit, then it just stopped working years later, so I stopped taking it. My grades went down to being bad in 10th grade. I tried it again because I was failing classes because I could never stay focused. I took it again, and immediately my grades became better, and I finished off the year amazingly. The year after, it wasn't as effective, but I also started taking AP at the time, but I could feel myself getting more sidetracked. I had a girlfriend at the time. Vyvanse changed my personality a lot. I wouldn't have much emotion if it wasn't related to what I was doing and started to get in fights with my girlfriend and fights with my parents. With my girlfriend, I was obsessed with sex, being right, and in general, I would just be angry all the time. It would hit its peak when the crash would happen later. Eventually, she left me, and I fell apart and stopped taking it so I wouldn't hurt anyone. To this day, since I stopped taking it, I'm not happy."

For ADHD "This medication is really messing with my head. I'm popping Vyvanse once every morning. I started on 30 mg and I did feel the improvement, I felt motivated, active, and less impulsive. After a month, it started to feel like nothing. I felt like it had no effect on me. I saw my psychiatrist, and he prescribed me 50 mg to try out this month. It's been 2 days, and I've already noticed no improvements. It makes me feel depressed, dehydrated, and makes me get angry very easily, like one small thing annoys me like I want to knock someone out. I noticed tonight that people are having trouble understanding me, like I speak normally, and people tell me they don’t understand me. My focus hasn’t improved since I started taking meds again. It only improved for a few days, and since the meds changed up my personality and are making me worse, it's even getting me into trouble at work behavior-wise. I don’t recommend this medication whatsoever."

For ADHD "I'm 51 years old and was skeptical regarding ADD or ADHD. A counselor urged me to get tested. I agreed to do it because all I wanted was help. I no longer cared what the answer was for whatever was wrong. I only cared if it worked. So, I did the test and was told I was 'off the charts' the highest scores they had seen in years of testing. Today I take 120-150 mg of Vyvanse daily and it makes a difference. Nonetheless, even though Vyvanse has been very helpful, I still doubted whether ADHD was 'real.' I couldn't understand why the medicine was so highly regulated. How could anyone get addicted to this stuff I thought? Then I realized people like me don't get high from drugs like this and that's one reason I know it's working and ADHD is real."

For Binge Eating Disorder "Day one. This is the first day in the past two years that I haven't overeaten. I had gastric bypass and lost lots of weight. I thought I was fine. Then I was attacked by a co-worker. It set off massive depression and PTSD. I moved from Hawaii to PA and I can't eat that much, but slider food - chips, bread, eggs, diet soda, and coffee with cream. I don't like sweets. But I eat junk. This is the first day without chips/McDonald's/fries. I have no heart racing, no problem with anxiety, no jitters. I was able to choose a nice low-cal dinner, and no chips...they are my weakness. I am so happy to stop the binge."

For Binge Eating Disorder "I am on my second month of daily Vyvanse 30 mg for my binge eating disorder. I am happy to say it has been an absolute godsend! I haven’t had a single binge episode. Furthermore, this medication has reduced my appetite to the extent that I feel like I have plenty of space to make healthy choices. I also feel much more able to take an introspective look at my behaviors and what needs to be adjusted in my life in order to maintain health and happiness. Basically, I am using the gift of the time spent on this effective drug to develop healthy habits and learn how to meet my needs properly so that I can one day live just as well without the drug. The only drawback I have noticed is that there is usually some point each day where I notice a feeling of low-level anxiety. Since it’s clearly coming from the medication and it passes quickly, it has been easy to cope with."

For Binge Eating Disorder "I was put on Vyvanse after my doctor diagnosed me with binge-eating disorder. Before this drug, I struggled for 6 years battling this eating disorder and gaining pounds along the way. Almost 2 years later and with the help of this medication, I have lost over 100 pounds. I feel great, this medication should be watched and used properly. My doctor was great about letting me know that it could make me stop eating altogether."

For ADHD "I have been taking Adderall as well as Vyvanse on and off since I was in middle school, I'm 23 now. It seems to me that when I first started taking it, it made me feel like a zombie, but I would focus and work. Then I stopped, and now I have been taking Vyvanse, as you can tell, for a decent amount of time now. I started with 10 mg, then 20 mg, etc. Now I'm at 60 mg, and it seems to finally work. I am focusing and just doing everything right now, lol."

For Binge Eating Disorder "After suffering from various forms of an eating disorder throughout my life, I've been battling binge eating for 4 years, which at times is out of control. I've tried other medications for depression and anxiety, but this is the only drug...the absolute only med that's helped with the binge eating. I am not taking anything else at the time of start & I'm now beginning the second month with only Vyvanse. At first while taking the med, I had no desire to binge eat & I would not have any urge to plan my day around the binging. This was unbelievable as I've been consumed every single day with binge eating. I have to say this med is exactly what I need while I work on the other components of recovery & therapy."

For ADHD "I failed 2 classes in high school, couldn't pass the driver test, struck out with girls because I was too hyper. Good at sports but didn't play well at the best level. I was on Wellbutrin SR. Passed classes with C's and 1 B, occasionally got a date to prom. Got sports scholarships through T&F, Bball, got a driver's license. Things were missing, got 16 on the ACT, still a little too hyper and struck out with college girls, passed 1st semester with 3 C's, 1 A, couldn't remember street names. Doctor put me on Vyvanse 50 mg, had a 3.0 GPA, got three dates, remembered street signs. Thank you, GOD, it is a blessing out of this world."

For ADHD "Let me just say. Life without Vyvanse for the last six months has been a complete and utter hell. I decided to get off my medication stupidity and have suffered endlessly. Without Vyvanse, I am always anxious, starving all of the time which causes anxiety, can't get to class on time or don't show up at all, have no motivation, headaches and nausea, gained weight, my boyfriend broke up with me because I turned into a legit socially incompetent vegetable, wasn't able to drive to see my family, and overall was scared to get out and do anything. Without ADHD medication like Vyvanse, I wasn't living.. afraid to do anything. HUGE MISTAKE. This medication is life-changing. When I was on it, I was amazing. I kicked ass in college with honors, wasn't anxious about eating, went from 170 lbs to 139 lbs, more productive, happy, and not anxious about driving, classes, going out to eat or going to the grocery store. Anyways, I am getting back on these meds because I miss living. So should you! Take a low dose!"

For ADHD "I wouldn't typically give any drug such a high rating, but Vyvanse has truly changed my life with few, if any, side effects. I take 20 mg once a day, and it lasts 12 to 14 hours. It took about 2 weeks of trial and error to find the dosage, but it was very worthwhile. I am happier, less anxious, and significantly more organized than I have ever been. I am a student, and many areas of my life -- academics, social functioning, general health, etc. -- have all improved greatly. The inattentive fog has cleared, and I finally feel able to create the life I want to be living. Better control over my life has also given me back self-esteem and stabilized my moods. I am so grateful."

For ADHD "Both my daughter and I take Vyvanse for ADD/ADHD. It has helped us significantly. My daughter initially tried Biphentin, but it did not help her symptoms and caused her not to eat or sleep. With Vyvanse, there is a dramatic improvement of her symptoms and less side effects. It just suppresses her appetite. We take her off occasionally to help her appetite and have also tried a short-acting formulation that she takes after breakfast and again after lunch so her appetite isn’t as affected. I experience very good results on Vyvanse as well (and don’t mind curbing my appetite slightly)."

For ADHD "Vyvanse is not like any other ADHD med out there. It is better! A lot better! It does not matter how much Vyvanse you take, your body will not let the amphetamine level go any higher than it can process it. This gives you control. Vyvanse is a spark, it lets you choose what to focus on, rather than make you hyper and euphoric like other ADHD meds do. Why it does not work for some people? Because most people fail to use ADHD meds accordingly! No med is a 'magic bullet.' For those of us who actually have ADHD and have tried absolutely everything (healthy diet, good night's sleep, exercise, multivitamins, etc.), Vyvanse is the 'missing piece to the puzzle!'"

For Binge Eating Disorder "I have been on Vyvanse for a year now, and I have slowly lost 60 pounds simply by being able to focus on the things I need to do in my life and not about food ever. So I just eat now for fuel, the way it should be! I noticed a huge difference when I don't take it, I feel that hunger feeling just like before. I still struggle at night, so it is not going to fix everything, but it has been a miracle for me. I have struggled since I was 8 years old, and now I'm 37. I plan on staying on Vyvanse until I can get myself under control. I still need to lose about 70 more pounds to be at a healthy weight for my height. In the meantime, I am going to school for psychology with a concentration in addictions and hopes to figure out how to control my behavior."

For ADHD "Dr. diagnosed me with ADD, he put me on Vyvanse. It did help me focus but caused near anorexia. It actually helped with depression symptoms that antidepressants were never able to help me with. I never really wanted to eat while I was on the medication. Just no appetite. All of my life was normal/thin. No prior eating disorders. Never was a binge eater. I went from 120 lbs to 100 lbs on the medication. The worst is stopping the medication. Be warned. I developed a never-before binge eating disorder from discontinuing Vyvanse. Gained back all the weight I lost PLUS I have gained an additional 30 pounds on top of my normal weight. I put on about 50 pounds since stopping Vyvanse. I cannot get the weight off. I often think about starting up the pills again to help me rid the after Vyvanse weight gain, but what will happen to me after I stop again? Wish I never started it to begin with."

For ADHD "My daughter is 8 and has tried other medicines for ADHD. I did not like them because of the side effects, she was like a zombie. With Vyvanse, I don't notice a major change in her personality. And she is focusing better in school. Much better grades. I love this medicine because she still acts like my daughter and not some alien."

For Binge Eating Disorder "I'm so happy for everyone that has a positive experience. I started Vyvanse 30 mg 2 months ago, the first week was very good, and I was able to control the impulse to binge. I was on Bupropion 300 for depression and anxiety, and the only thing that Vyvanse has helped me with is that. After a week, I binged again pretty much every night. The doctor increased Vyvanse to 40 and decreased Bupropion to 150. Once again, I felt great about my depression and my anxiety, but this time I'm eating more than before. I'm hungry all the time, I binge every night. I have never experienced a lot of energy like people have described, and I don't feel any side effects, a little bit sleepy around 5 PM. I feel like I'm not taking anything at all. At nighttime, I can sleep with no problem, except the nights like tonight where I can't sleep because I binged so much that I can't lie down because of GERD. I feel like crying, I'm angry with myself and frustrated that Vyvanse is not working for me."

For Binge Eating Disorder "I started what I thought was my weight loss journey at 404 pounds. That was not my biggest, but my biggest since my last weight loss adventure. I started with phentermine ($15 a month). I live in Ohio, so I could only be on it for 3 months as it is a state law that mandates use. I went down to 343. I was put on Belviq for 2 months ($80 a month). I gained 10 pounds and was binge eating like crazy. I told my doctor about it, and we figured out it was BED. So I was put on Vyvanse ($35 a month). I am 2 weeks in and I lost what I assume is some water weight, and I stopped binging. I've also gotten a lot of energy, and I focus really well now. I'm on 30 mg. Hopefully, when I go back in 2 weeks, I'll be back down a few pounds."

For ADHD "I started this medication when I was 45 years old and started back to college. I never excelled in college in my younger years and actually made the Dean's List after taking Vyvanse. I am now almost sixty. I really don't need it other than helping my golf game once in a while. I just wanted to say that it is a great medication for keeping one’s focus, however, I did experience quite a bit of hair loss. I only take 20 mg. I do take breaks on this medication and have noticed that my hair grows much thicker when I am off of it. Just an FYI."

For ADHD "My 8-year-old daughter has been on Vyvanse for almost 2 years. She started on 20 mg a day. She seemed to be doing better as far as focusing, but very emotional. Her doctor decided to up her dose to 30 mg and now 40 mg. The 40 mg also seemed to help at school, her grades went up, and she was able to pay attention. I'm now noticing that my little girl is not the same person. She has become rude, depressed, emotional, getting in trouble, suicidal, and just out of control. Parents really should keep a journal of changing side effects they notice. Needless to say, my daughter is no longer taking this medication and has not yet found one to replace it."

For ADHD "I took a few different ADHD meds as a child with 'fine' results (never excellent but not usually bad), but tried going unmedicated for years in my 20s. When I came back to a psych in 2019 she wanted me to try Vyvanse. I've been taking it for 5 years this month and can say my life has been 100x better since. There are still struggles because the pill is not magic, but it's a level of struggle that I can use coping strategies for instead of constant overwhelm. I've held down good jobs instead of quitting on impulse. I can do tasks at home that need doing! I went from a HS dropout to graduating college this spring because I can focus and apply myself. I drive safer because I'm not distracted, and I'm safer at home because I don't forget something is plugged in. I started on 30mg, and I've stayed on it with good results. I like it."

For Binge Eating Disorder "I have suffered silently for about 35 years with binge eating disorder (BED). My weight has gone up and down, but in 2015, I lost 45 lbs. (I was having health issues) to reach my current weight of 130. But I struggled to keep it off. At the same time, I was having difficulty concentrating and completing tasks. My doctor thought I had ADD and prescribed Vyvanse. It helped with those symptoms, but the real surprise came when I was no longer obsessed with food. I didn't even know it was prescribed for BED! It is life-changing for me. A miracle, really. I even sleep better at night. I had a few episodes of a panicked feeling initially, but they have gone away. I feel normal now, and my only fear is that someday it will be taken off the market."

For ADHD "It made me go crazy. I was convinced of all kinds of conspiracies. Making connections that are not there. To me it felt so real. I didn't seek help because of paranoia. It ended in me getting into a bunch legal trouble because I thought people were out to get me. My life was completely ruined. I lost everything and I mean everything. I lost the love of my life because I threatened her family thinking they were replaced by robots because I thought AI was taking over and messing with me. I thought the craziest stuff. After coming off it I spent months wanting to commit suicide. I ended up homeless because of my depression. I slept in my car. One night I got drunk wanting to commit suicide. I woke up to cops. Impounded vehicle and dui. I tried to get help everywhere. I never got the help I needed. Keep this in mind when you decide to take this drug. You will be the one suffering alone. There is nothing in place in if something like this happens.. It has taking me forever to recover from."

For Binge Eating Disorder "I was given 20 mg of Vyvanse for Binge Eating Disorder 4 days ago. I have suffered with BED for over 40 years. Been to therapy for 30 of those years and never really helped. I am 59 years old and exercise regularly, eat right, don't smoke or drink, but I binge and have always been 15-20 lbs overweight. Well, the first day I took it, I DID NOT OBSESS OVER FOOD, which I have all my life. Weekends have been hell, especially when dieting, which I am constantly doing. And when not dieting, I'm bingeing - classic BED. So I eat a regular meal, then a piece of candy or sweet, not the whole bag! And then I don't obsess over the next bag. I think that's how 'normal eaters' do it. Truly amazing! I hope it lasts. Weight loss is bound to happen, but more importantly, no obsession."

For ADHD "I have seen mental health experts on and off for over 50 years. Never diagnosed other than it's just the way I am and you're getting by. I was always a scatterbrain and always at the bottom of my class. I started taking Vyvanse through my own research and had a doctor put me on it. It's like somebody turned on a light switch. No more brain fog. No more scatterbrain. I found my self-confidence. Wish I found this decades ago, but I'm so grateful I'm on it now. Thank you, thank you, thank you."
