For ADHD "After having trialed both Adderall and Concerta, I gave 30 mg Vyvanse a go, with overwhelmingly positive results. Adderall put me in a state of anxiety, which exacerbated my fatigue, and Concerta made me slightly more awake but didn't manage my symptoms. Vyvanse just... works, and has for a while. It's subtle but does something, at least."

For ADHD "I got diagnosed about a month ago with ADHD. I also have GAD, depression, and severe migraines. I was very disorganized, didn't finish tasks, depressed, super anxious. I would try to talk to someone, and my mind was elsewhere and had no idea what they were saying. I started Vyvanse 30 mg, it helped for about a week for all my symptoms, even my migraines! I could sleep like a baby at night. After that, it helped in the morning. In the afternoon, I would feel depressed, like I could cry at anything, the anxiety was still gone, but everything else came back, including the daily headaches. My doctor switched me to 60 mg. I hope it lasts longer than the 30 mg, so far, so good, it's only been 2 days. I'd recommend it."

For ADHD "I’m on Vyvanse 30 mgs. The good is that it’s long-lasting. I personally don’t have any sleeping problems when it comes to stimulants, so that’s really nice to just take the 1 and leave it at that. It also doesn’t feel as habit-forming as some of the other ADHD meds I’ve tried. But the reason for that is because the effects of it can really, really suck, again, personally. If I tried to lower my dose, I couldn’t feel it. So I stayed on 30 mgs, and it makes me really anxious and nauseous. I can’t do any work because it makes me feel restless and spacey. Overall, it makes my ADHD worse, unfortunately. I get a lot of back pain and stiff muscles, and I feel so pent up that it’s tiring doing absolutely anything at all. Definitely not for me."

For ADHD "Due to a poorly managed pain disorder, I was hospitalized for suicidality at the age of 13. I had a 30-minute conversation with the psychiatrist in the ward, and he diagnosed me with ADHD. He prescribed Vyvanse to be taken the next morning. Almost immediately, I noticed side effects that included a complete loss of appetite and intense anxiety, which I had never experienced before. However, the doctor wouldn't listen to my concerns and insisted that I continue taking it. When I was released from the hospital and returned to school, I felt jittery and restless. My mind was constantly spiraling, and my heart rate would skyrocket. I was a bundle of nerves, and everything seemed hopeless. One day, by accident, I skipped a dose of Vyvanse, and the resulting symptoms were so severe that I had another suicide attempt the next morning. Thankfully, when I saw new doctors, they recognized the issues with Vyvanse and switched me to Concerta, which helped alleviate some of the symptoms. Years later, I still experience anxiety that I know I never struggled with before taking Vyvanse. While Vyvanse may work for some individuals, it is crucial to exercise extreme caution."

For ADHD "My son was on Vyvanse for 3 years. At first, the side effects were the normal irritability, obsessive thoughts, and anxiety only on the days he took the drug. His concentration and grades improved, so the benefits outweighed the side effects. The last year, though, he was increasingly negative, obsessing over negative thoughts, anxious and paranoid only on the days he took it. I think the side effects can affect kids more or less as they grow. He was very depressed for a 10-year-old. Since he's been off, he's been happier!! I think positive thoughts are more important than grades since we all know where negative thoughts lead down the road if left unchecked. Overall, the medicine is not bad, but keep a close eye on behavior."

For ADHD "For me, Vyvanse has the 'smoothest' feeling of the ADHD medicines I have tried. I have found that Concerta (methylphenidate) and Focalin (dexmethylphenidate) create an anxious feeling. Vyvanse does not make me feel this way. Downside: it can be outrageously expensive."

For ADHD "Adderall worked okay on me, but I wanted to try this to see if it worked better and without side effects. I'd heard good things, but for me, it did not work out. My anxiety spiked. I noticed my heart rate felt too fast even though I was just sitting there, and it was just a very uncomfortable anxious feeling. Even with the dosage high enough to give me this much anxiety, it didn't work very well! I would forget to do things all the time, for example. And I see why they use this on binge eating disorder because it made me not want to eat even when I was hungry. At least it kept me awake and slightly more focused than I would be without the medication, but I'm going to explore other options."

For ADHD "I'm 17 and have always had a hard time with my depression and bipolar disorder. I take medication for them, and it's helped, but there was still my motivation lacking. I was prescribed Vyvanse, and the first day I took it, I knew it was the miracle I had been waiting for. It helps my motivation tremendously, whether it's schoolwork or not, I get more done and am actually enthusiastic about doing it. The only semi-bad thing about it I would say is anxiety. My arms, especially, get very anxious."

For ADHD "Vyvanse, when I first started, was great until the 4th week into taking the medication. I am in the marching band, and during one of the performances, I noticed that I started having trouble breathing. I had previous reactions similar to this when taking other medications, such as Adderall. After the performance, I went to tell my coach that something was really wrong. I thought I was going crazy, turns out I had a bad reaction to the medication, and it caused me to have a really bad anxiety attack to the point in which I was screaming and accidentally punched my coach. This medication is not for everyone."

For ADHD "I've had panic anxiety since I was 7 years old and ADHD. This medication makes me calm, focused, and able to concentrate and feel enjoyment! I'm 30+. While Ritalin made me able to concentrate for a few hours (probably 2-3), I never felt any enjoyment in anything. Also, I've felt half-numb to any touch in my whole body, and that has gone too. I can enjoy a hug and even more. I can enjoy eye contact. PROS FOR ME: + Deep loud voice. + Restless leg syndrome gone. + Anxiety gone. + Social anxiety gone. + Numbness in body gone. Able to laugh and feel enjoyment. + Very high libido. + AMAZING ORGASM. All negative cravings gone (probably due to anxiety being gone). CONS: - Food might not be as exciting as before. And not as tasty? All cravings gone (both pros and cons, because having a healthy craving can feel good too). - This medication will probably be hard for people working shifts. - Your penis will probably get smaller. - VERY HIGH LIBIDO (both pro and con). - Expensive."

For ADHD "I truly wanted to love Vyvanse. I have struggled with securing a stimulant prescription ever since I was diagnosed with inattentive type ADHD. I've read everything out there on Vyvanse and was so excited when my new doctor prescribed it for me. Also, I'm so used to waiting for drugs to start working (SSRIs mainly) that I kept waiting to write this review. What it's come down to is this: I really just don't know if Vyvanse works for me. I haven't noticed any significant changes at all. The things I have noticed are small and very possibly coincidental. I am currently taking 20 mg, which I know is a relatively low dose, so I tried taking 40 mg one day and felt like I wanted to die (nausea, anxiety, etc.)."

For ADHD "I am 20 years old and just started taking this medication because I was having trouble in school wrapping my head around the massive amount of data we have to learn at school. I have noticed a HUGE improvement in my comprehension while reading in my book, and much more interested and focused on everything my instructor says during the period of class time, and I actually remember it. It helps me complete my projects in school and stay focused on one task instead of walking around aimlessly, wasting time seeing what everyone else is doing and saying, 'I can just do that tomorrow, or later on.' I can finally sit down and get things done the way I should be. No crashing at the end of the day or jitteriness."

For ADHD "I started taking Vyvanse last year to treat ADHD, and I experienced the worst side effects I've ever had with a medication. While I understand that everyone's response to these drugs can be different, the effects I experienced were truly bizarre. Vyvanse made me constantly hungry, and as a result, I gained a significant amount of weight. Prior to starting the medication, I weighed around 135 lbs, but I went up to 155 lbs. My doctor found this weight gain very unusual. This drug simply did not agree with my body. Additionally, it caused severe insomnia, leaving me unable to sleep and constantly needing to be occupied. I would often find myself in the kitchen at 4 AM, seeking a midnight snack. It also intensified my anxiety and made me feel awful around the clock. Recently, I switched to Adderall, and since discontinuing Vyvanse, I have lost 20 lbs. While Vyvanse may be effective for ADHD, the side effects are not worth staying on it, in my opinion."

For ADHD "I feel like I’m being a little generous by giving Vyvanse a 3 because it does work to some degree, but I have very unpleasant side effects from it. My doctor finally switched me to generic Adderall IR-thank God-and it’s fantastic. I must be abnormal with how I digest Vyvanse or something because I find it far more potent, and not in a good way. It gives me serious dry mouth, diarrhea, anxiety, excessive sweating, and depression. The effect was different almost every day: some days were okay, a lot were terrible, and a few were good. It muted most of my emotions except a general sense of discomfort. But I could focus when it didn’t make me depressed. On the other hand, Adderall IR is a cakewalk and I feel great in general."

For ADHD "I've been taking this medication for many months now. I take it on workdays mostly and days when I need to get up and go. I still have depression, and sometimes it's hard to sleep, but not always. It helps if you love food because I don't overeat, but if I forget to bring a snack to work, I get a little nauseous or I just feel super hungry by the end of my shift because I forget about food for like 7-9 hours. I try to eat food before I take it. Girls at work ask me what helps me be confident and sell stuff, and I tell them Vyvanse. I have depression and anxiety, but this helps so much. I do feel really tired and like I don't want to do stuff on days I don't take it and after it wears off. So my doctor is trying me on Brintellix or something too."

"The drug didn't pass the clinical trial for depression. Even though it was only tested in combination with other drugs (probably SSRIs). For me, this was what lifted me out of my black hole. I suffered from insomnia, depression, and anxiety on and off for years. For like 1 year, I was badly sleepless and depressed/hopeless/anxious. Thought my life was over, despite my life being great by all common criteria. Tried everything without success. The breakthrough came with the combo of Trintellix and Vyvanse. I've been on that for over 6 months and never felt better! Sleep 5-8 hours without interruption, happy and motivated. I reduced Trintellix to 5 mg, and it doesn't seem to make any difference. The key to success was also to work on some mental barriers that caused the trouble in the first place. You need to get rid of your inner critic and replace him/her with your inner friend. Sounds trivial, but you have to love yourself. This is the true key to a good life. Never give up. There's light at the end of the tunnel!"

For ADHD "I'm on Vyvanse for ADD and social phobia. I also take 1 milligram of clonazepam, which helps with the anxiety stimulants may cause. In my experience, you'll crash and feel extremely anxious, depressed, and moody when taking anything less than 60 milligrams."

For ADHD "I am a 33-year-old male. I started taking Vyvanse yesterday, and it is the first medication that I have ever taken for anything, really. I was a B student in school because I refused to do homework. I couldn't concentrate enough to motivate myself to do it, and I suffered in college for it. Now I manage restaurants. I am happy with that choice, but lately, as pressures from work seemed to increase, I chose to see a psychiatrist to help me complete tasks. I am taking 50 mg a day, I usually wait until noon to dose since I work until 1 a.m. most nights. So far, so good, a little jittery, but it is new to my system. Slight loss of appetite, but nothing that concerns me. I am happy with my choice so far."

For ADHD "I'm 21 years old, and I've been on 40 mg Vyvanse for about 5 months, give or take. I've been on other medications for ADHD in the past, but they left me feeling edgy or more anxious. This medication works much better in terms of even release and feeling normal, and not jittery or like I have a come down when the medication wears off. However, I still struggle trying to find the ideal medication/dosage because my days are long, sometimes from 4 a.m. until 10 p.m. at night, and no medication has lasted that long for me. I used to take Adderall twice daily, so that it would last me the entire day, but that left me feeling terrible. I fear if I up the dosage of Vyvanse to twice daily, I may start getting other side effects as well."
