Ledipasvir / sofosbuvir for Hepatitis C "I was diagnosed with geno 1A in 2011 by accident at age 40. It was determined I most likely contracted it as a child in 1971 from blood transfusions needed for a blood disorder. I opted not to be treated with the meds at the time because of all the known side effects, and at the time, I was otherwise healthy. My doctor told me about new drugs on the horizon that sounded promising. I started Harvoni on Feb 2, 2016. After 4 weeks, blood work showed it undetectable. The first few weeks, I did have headaches, fatigue, and insomnia. I took it in the morning on an empty stomach and had to crush it and eat it in yogurt because I can't swallow pills. Blood work after 12 weeks is still undetectable, and I go next week for the 12-week follow-up."

I think Gilead should be more honest about Harvoni's side effects. The other problem with these drugs is the packaging, how many of us have had to count our pills? Ledipasvir / sofosbuvir for Hepatitis C "I waited for 14 months after a positive HCV 1a, stage 2 viral load 3,700,000 to 4,700,000 in 12 months. Waited for a good balance for blood pressure. Ledipasvir / sofosbuvir for Hepatitis C "I started a 12-week Harvoni/ribavirin treatment 5 weeks ago. 2 years ago, after 6 months of the triple treatment (Incivek), my Hep C came back! Compared to the triple treatment, this is a breeze. Headaches for the first week or two, loose stools, muscle aches, and slight insomnia. I've actually gained a couple of lbs!? Ledipasvir / sofosbuvir for Hepatitis C "I was told in 2004 that I tested positive for Hep C. Nothing was done about it. My liver enzymes were always off the scale, but no civilian doctor made much effort to diagnose the problem. Some seem to think I may have contracted it through a blood transfusion in 1985. Who knows? The VA convinced me to be put on a 12-week program of Harvoni. So, as it turns out, I'm a Genotype 1a with a viral load of over 1.4 million. The first week of drug therapy, I had trivial side effects, but no big deal, mostly headaches subsided by drinking more water. I had insomnia already, so I can't say the Harvoni affected it. Ledipasvir / sofosbuvir for Hepatitis C "I gave this a 10, but I am only on day 10 of Harvoni. So far, so good, no real side effects, no headache, no fatigue. My skin is itching a bit and I have read other comments that they also had itchy skin. If that is all the side effects, I'll take it. I have a little insomnia at night, but had some before treatment anyway. I do drink 80 oz of water daily, eat clean, and work out at the gym daily. I have had this monster for 40+ years and just found out. Yes, I will clear this virus and will get back with a rating once cleared. I am on it for 12 weeks. I take it in the am at 7:30 or 8:00. In 2016, he was approved for Harvoni. He experienced many side effects, such as nausea, aches and pains, insomnia, and vision changes during his time on this medicine. After several weeks of treatment, we went to the hospital for severe sickness. They informed us that my husband had cancer of his liver and pancreas. A week later, we returned to his gastroenterologist, where he met us with a big smile to tell us he was Hep C negative. Ledipasvir / sofosbuvir for Hepatitis C "I'm in my last 2 weeks of Harvoni treatment. I've been having breathing problems. I go to the doctor today, he sends me to get blood work. Needless to say, none of these things started until my 3rd week of Harvoni. I have breathing problems, hair loss, and the past few weeks no sleep. Anyway, blood work was STAT, and the D-dimer test came back elevated, which means blood clot. So now I have to get a CT scan of my chest due to him thinking I have a blood clot in my lungs. For those who don't know what taint is, it's that area in your female parts that taint body or cootie cat. This happened about 3 days in. When I took my first dose, it was at 6 pm. After a week, I was having insomnia, so I switched to taking it at 8 am. This was a little bit better, but I am up off and on all night. Ledipasvir / sofosbuvir for Hepatitis C "Does anyone have severe allergy-like reactions after stopping taking Harvoni? I was genotype 1b and was prescribed two 28-day courses of Harvoni. My medical report says the virus was undetectable after my first blood test after taking the medication, roughly about 28 days. I felt very happy about the result. But I kept feeling like I got a strong flu and allergy reaction: sneezing, coughing, and a runny nose. At first, I thought I was catching a cold since I was in the office, the AC was pretty hard. And my house was surrounded by a lot of trees, I may have had a severe allergy reaction. (Only this year started the reaction, I never felt like that ever before). Now I started to think if it's the medication that gives me that strong reaction. It affected my sleep too!"

For Hepatitis C "Quite well surprising, slight side effects with lack of appetite and broken sleep, but more recently, pain in left arm bone now has started on right arm and woke up this morning with painful shoulders. At one point during the night, it felt as though my bone was being snapped from the pressure in it. Initially thought I had hurt myself after cycling, leaning on my arms, but that was last Tuesday, it's now Tuesday again, and the pain is quite bad, to a point where if I hold my arm a certain way, it hurts to lift a cup of tea.
