For Hepatitis C "About 10 weeks into treatment, I developed conjunctivitis, which took 2 treatments to clear up, and some type of mouth infection, which I am still trying to get rid of 4 months later. My dry eye syndrome got tons worse, and 3 months post-treatment, I am fatigued and feel worse than before I ever did Harvoni. I believe there are more side effects than listed, and some are horrid to get rid of."

For Hepatitis C "I have been on Harvoni for 8 weeks now. The first set of blood work was negative, fingers crossed tomorrow when I do the second set. Four more weeks to go. I am stage 3-4, genotype 1a. I've been on two different treatments, both failed. I have had side effects: headaches, mood swings, depression, and fatigue. But it is worth it if I am clear of Hep C. I am very grateful, I fought my insurance company for a year to get Harvoni."

For Hepatitis C "I just started Harvoni days ago and was feeling very fatigued and have a slight headache, but I am used to feeling fatigued due to the Hep C. I read some people's experiences on here, and some said that it was fine to drink a glass of wine a day while on the treatment. Come to find out through two doctors that there is a good chance that the alcohol will weaken the effect of the Harvoni and it is possible that it won't work. In lieu of that, I am not taking another sip of wine or any other alcohol for the remainder of the three months. I mean, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, as my out-of-pocket and $6,000 deductible have been met this year, and I don't foresee that happening again, at least I hope not. It was due to hospitalization."

For Hepatitis C "I waited for 14 months after a positive HCV 1a, stage 2 viral load 3,700,000 to 4,700,000 in 12 months. Waited for a good balance for blood pressure. Quit alcohol. Been clean and sober for 14+ months, had a liver ultrasound. Started Harvoni 6 weeks ago. 8-week treatment. At the 4-week checkup, viral load was undetectable!!!!! Some typical side effects: occasional fatigue, loose stool, take trazodone for insomnia. Best way to have a real successful treatment: NO alcohol. Get clean and stay that way. Harvoni is the answer to cure HEP!"

For Hepatitis C "I'm on day 11 of 84 (3-month treatment)... I take Harvoni at 6 pm religiously and find that I sleep through most of the symptoms. First 3 days were hard... nausea, restless legs, fatigue, weakness, and headaches... couldn't finish any gym sessions. But days 4-6 were 'miracle days'... I think my viral load dropped dramatically (will find out viral load in week 4 and week 12 and at 6 months). Zero viral load means the Hep C is non-active... which is as much as being cured as we can get. I have heard that a lot of patients are non-active in week 12 but are relapsing 6+ months after treatment. To prevent a relapse... I'm taking Spirulina, vitamin C & B complex, banana, and a handful of nuts and seeds every day. http://www.realnatural.org/chlorella-found-to-improve-hepatitis-c-infections/"

For Hepatitis C "I am on my fifth week of a 12-week plan of Harvoni plus Ribavirin. I took part in an interferon plus Ribavirin treatment plan approximately 15 years ago that was not successful - it successfully kicked my ass though. With this current treatment, I felt no side effects the first two weeks, and then during the third and fourth weeks, I started becoming anemic with associated fatigue and shortness of breath. During week four and continuing into this fifth week, I continue to feel fatigue and shortness of breath, and also flu-like symptoms of weakness and full-body muscle aches. These symptoms are not completely debilitating but rather have significantly slowed my normally very active lifestyle."

For Hepatitis C "I am on week 3 of Harvoni and haven't really experienced any side effects apart from fatigue. Sort of like a cell phone running out of battery or charge. I have just gotten a cold and took some Nyquil I bought in the States. My husband thinks it should be okay, but I will check with my doctor tomorrow. It is Sunday here, and I am in Australia, by the way. My 18-year-old daughter was tested last week, and she is negative. Thank goodness for that! I found out I was Hep C positive after I gave birth to her, assume I got it from some very bad choices I made as a teenager in the Carolinas. Hopefully, after this treatment, it will be gone. Harvoni was put on the PBS on March 1st, which is why I decided to start treatment."

For Hepatitis C "Day 10 of taking Harvoni. Some side effects are a little nauseous, some fatigue along with some energy because it is attacking my viral load. Have a viral load of 7,000,000. Took the Robitron treatment 20 years ago. Those side effects were horrible. Harvoni is a breeze. If you never took the interferon treatment, you don't know how lucky you are that a treatment came out with minimal side effects."

For Hepatitis C "I have been on Harvoni for over 4 weeks now. I have had my labs and am waiting on the results to determine if my HCV and viral load are detectable. I feel fine on the medication. A little fatigue, and my appetite has decreased, but it is hard to determine if the Harvoni has caused it. I guess I have had Hep C for under 2 years because I was negative 3 years ago. I am so happy that we have a cure. I am wondering if my fiancé has the virus because we were not careful about our needle use at times (addiction at its finest). We are clean now, and I am on Suboxone. I am a Navy Nurse Veteran, and I am not charged for the Suboxone or the Harvoni, and I am so grateful."

For Hepatitis C "In week ten and getting through it, but the side effects are difficult. Fatigue and cloudy-minded, as well as headaches and nausea. It's worth it though. I fought my insurance company for 2 years and finally bought it overseas myself for 1100."

For Hepatitis C "I have to agree with Anna. I am on my first week. I have had this infection since 2012 when I was diagnosed. I am very excited to be pure again. Completing this will be another success for me and only make me a stronger person. I have to say I feel really weak and have fatigue. I drink a whole lot of water and some protein shakes during my day. Just like anything, it is only one day at a time!!!"

For Hepatitis C "Wannabehepcfree and all others that think they can't afford these drugs. Contact the drug manufacturer. Each drug has its own programs to pay for the drugs if insurance will not. Treatment is available to everyone. You just have to go straight to the drug manufacturers themselves. This is how I did the peg-interferon, ribavirin. Those drugs sucked. I start new drugs in September 2017 and am really nervous. Past drugs made white blood cell count go really low, I had zero energy, but worst of all, I felt like I had insects under my skin constantly. I failed treatment. Haven't heard any of you say you had itching or the feeling of bugs under your skin, so yeah! That's good. Good luck to all."

For Hepatitis C "My dad took Harvoni, but two months after, he started to lose all this weight, and they found a large tumor on his liver. The Harvoni caused extreme fatigue, and with the cancer tumor, it wiped him out in 6 months. There are many, many people who had this reaction to Harvoni. After all this, I would go for naturopathic treatments instead."

For Hepatitis C "I've had many of the same experiences as many of you guys. I was considering buying my RX of Harvoni at an Indian pharmacy but was a little worried about being scammed or, worse, sold a dangerous counterfeit lookalike. So, I decided to take a job at a large company like Hilton just to get their wonderful health insurance with a low copay. I was overqualified for the job, but I have been dealing with this Hep C monster for decades, so action was necessary. I was at the point where I could work an 8-hour shift then come straight home and sleep. No time for children or family, friends. No personality, aching joints, zero energy, or enjoyment in life. Just kind of existing. Long story, my doctor got my meds approved in a week and I started treatment last week. Yay!"

For Hepatitis C "Wondering if taking Harvoni at night will lessen the side effects? I take it in the morning, and I have a runny nose, cough, aches, fatigue all day. Would hate to take it at night and have it increase insomnia."

For Hepatitis C "Yeah, I really had no side effects during the pills except for fatigue and the occasional shooting pain in the liver area. After I was finished with my dosage, I started having pain in my liver, this went on for about two months (I was drinking a lot, though). Now I feel as fit as a fiddle, and energy is back, no pains, and I can have a glass of wine from time to time."

For Hepatitis C "I am almost finished with my 8-week treatment. The first month was rough. I had headaches, night sweats, fatigue, nausea, and would wake up around 3 a.m. and couldn't get back to sleep for 3-5 hours. Month 2 was better. No more night sweats or nausea. Headache not as bad, and I'm sleeping better and have energy. I developed large, somewhat itchy rashes on my abdomen at the start of the 2nd month, but they are clearing up now. I wouldn't have wanted to go to work during this treatment and was fortunate enough to have some time off and then work from home. The virus was still detectable at 4 weeks, but very low. My starting viral load was 385,000, and I have substantial fibrosis. I've always been VERY sensitive to medications and supplements, so I was glad I could handle the treatment. I can't rate it yet because I don't know if I'm cured yet."

For Hepatitis C "Just finished my last day of an 8-week course of Harvoni. I’ve had Hep C, 1b for over 20 years, no real symptoms or impact to liver. Viral load 3.6 mm at start, then not detected at 4 weeks in. Yippie! This medication really is a miracle. Side effects for me included fatigue and gas (!). Last couple days I’ve had an itchy skin rash with no other obvious cause. Hoping all this clears up now that I’m done with the pills. All effects are worth the magic to me!"
