For Hepatitis C "So, about this time last year, November. I started Harvoni and took it every day for approximately 90 days straight, if it was going to work, I couldn't lag and didn't plan to either. I've had hep C since I was about 14 years old, and my life depended on this drug working. So, to make a long story short, a year later, I'm hep C free, go to the gym daily, and feel like a champ. I even ride my dirt bike at a local track with no issues at all. Thanks for giving my wife, two young children, and especially me, a longer, happier life."

For Hepatitis C "I'm starting my 3rd week of Harvoni. I don't know when I got hep C, I am 50 years old. Ok, the first week everything went smooth till about the 6th day, then I started getting headaches and dizziness. Then my anger and my temper have been going off the charts, but I will trade that any day to get this virus out of me. For 8 years, it's been a nightmare, it's gotten so bad I could not walk to the mailbox without being tired, so as I said, I will be so glad to get rid of hep C."

For Hepatitis C "I contracted the hep C virus between Nov 2004 and Nov 2006, possibly using IV drugs. Cleaned myself up Dec 2006, which is when I found out I had the virus. Nine years later, I was blessed enough to get on Harvoni. So far, I haven't had many side effects from the meds, ranging from light headaches and a little weight loss, which is most likely due to not being able to eat. My acid reflux meds make it hard to eat a variety of foods. All very minor. :) I started treatment Dec 10th, 2015, and I finish Feb 3rd, 2016 (three more pills). Then I go in for blood work to check for detection. I'm really hoping to get this monkey off my back so I can live stigma-free. Thank you to my doctor and Gilead for this opportunity. God bless you all."

For Hepatitis C "I'm on the 17th day of taking Harvoni. I have stage 4 cirrhosis and have had Hep C for 17 years that I know of. I take the pill at night before bed, the same time every night. I drink 80 oz of water a day. I am 70 years old. After 13 days, I had my blood tested and Hep C is undetectable! A miracle! I have had no side effects. Will be taking it for 12 weeks total. I am thrilled!"

For Hepatitis C "I contracted Hep C 1a thirty years ago. I am 53 years old and have stage 4 fibrosis. Started taking Harvoni one month ago and have had various side effects, including headaches, nausea, insomnia, and fatigue. Nothing I can't handle. On the upside, my red palms are fading to white, my spider nevi on my legs and chest are also fading and disappearing. I felt like a different person after 3 days on Harvoni. My brain fog started to clear, and my moods stabilized. I'm not saying that I don't have bad days, I do. The side effects are transitory, so hang in there. I have my first blood work due in two days' time. Hoping to see a significant drop in my viral load and hoping that my liver is recovering somewhat."

For Hepatitis C "I started Harvoni in September 2016, and as I started the second month of this medication, I ended up in the ER with congestive heart failure. As of this date, March 17, 2017, I am still no better. I was healthy before this medication, had no problems besides Hep C. Wish I would have never taken the medication."

For Hepatitis C "I am on my 9th week of Harvoni. I have no side effects at all. My doc said although early trials reported that most cleared the virus in 8 weeks, in the real world, 12 weeks has better results. He said he does not test the viral load until completed for 2 months because either it's gone or it isn't."

For Hepatitis C "Day 19, just received my first viral count, it is undetectable. Thank you, Lord, for Gilead. I still experience some fatigue and insomnia, but it does not bother me at all. I have about eight and a half more weeks to go, my doctor said I have to finish the treatments. I am truly happy!"

For Hepatitis C "I'm female, 60 & petite - type 1b, F3 - 500,000+ and into the 3rd week (started Aug 18th) of 12 for Harvoni. No other meds and just a one-a-day multi. So far, so good, and I did notice some minor things in the first 2 weeks, but it has gotten easier. Within the first few days, my energy increased, my eyes became whiter, and what felt like a film over my eyes for years vanished. I hadn't associated that with Hep C before. My skin seems a little drier, but really, it's been easier than I thought. I drink lots of water and other fluids throughout the day, and that seems to help reduce any side effects. I do feel a little like a lab rat though, but will remain cautiously optimistic going forward."

For Hepatitis C "I'm 4 weeks into an 8-week course of Harvoni. The only side effect was one night of insomnia, followed by the occasional light headache. Amazingly, my scalp condition, which was very itchy and quite painful at times, began to clear within days. I was told a long time ago it was a side effect of the virus, which is genotype 1A. I'm a 52-year-old male, I go to the gym every other day, and life has resumed as normal. Looking forward to blood results next week. I will be back with information ASAP. Can't express my thanks enough for the help and the people who made it possible."

For Hepatitis C "I went off this at 14 days but was ready at day 5. I had heart palpitations high b/p 188/118 and emotional swings that were very frightening. I would jump from rage to deep dark depression. Light sensitive, total basket case. I was so revved up I felt like I was on a bad steroid. Really ready for a stroke or heart attack. My attention span was 0, short term memory 1. Awful stuff doc was not validating my sides, made up every excuse in the book that made me feel worse to keep me on med...Comments like maybe you are bi polar, really at 63 I think I would know. Idiots and that's a doc I used to really trust and respected. Would like to cure the virus I had over 40 yrs but at what expense? Torture. and now my liver hurts never did before."

For Hepatitis C "I went through 3 treatments with the Pegasys medicines, once with a 3rd drug added - with no success. I was diagnosed in 1997. I had no physical effects for most of that time. The Pegasys (I believe the ribavirin was the hard part) really kicked my rear end, my skin was pale and pasty looking. I began Harvoni March 20. I am now approaching the one-month mark. The only side effect, which is minor, is I have been tired a lot. I had been getting that way about 4 months before I started Harvoni. Since then I have been feeling a bit less energetic. But at the same time, my appetite has improved dramatically. I didn't have much of an appetite before the treatment, now my appetite is back to normal."

For Hepatitis C "I have had Hep C for over 15 years and never treated. Genotype 4. I took Harvoni with Ribavirin for 12 weeks, and after the first 8, my viral load was negative. It feels good. After the first month, my skin tone came back to olive and not pasty white like before. I had diarrhea and insomnia, with nausea and very tired. It was well worth the symptoms to be free of this virus. I go back for my blood work in 2 1/2 months to see if I have been cured, but I am positive the results will be excellent. This is a miracle cure, and I feel very grateful to be able to receive it."

For Hepatitis C "Well, I just finished my 11 weeks after 9 weeks, went and got my blood work. It shows it's gone. I went from over 3 million to less than 15. If these numbers hold, it truly is a gift from God. I'm in shock. To say I was not scared, I'd be lying. P.S. If you can take it in the fall, spring, or winter, not the summer. Good luck."

For Hepatitis C "Type 1a, probably contracted 25 years ago. My liver panel was normal, 0-1 fibrosis with doc saying it was extremely mild at worst, viral count at 500,000 at the beginning of Harvoni. Viral count after two weeks was <20. After four weeks, < twenty. I've had some fatigue and a couple of mild headaches, more in the first week or two. I certainly feel a bit more energized most of the time. Hope this clears, I have 16 days to go on an eight-week treatment."

For Hepatitis C "Took my last pill of 8 weeks yesterday. YAAAY! Labs done today. Glad this part of the journey is over. Hoping that I can get back to myself. Though I am grateful, I really wish I would have waited to make a more informal decision about some of the side effects that are not listed. They hit me pretty hard in the last few weeks. As a person who suffered with depression, it really almost wiped me out. I was told that the side effects are minimal, but it varies from person to person. Some of us suffer more than others."

For Hepatitis C "Had hep C since the early 70s and cirrhosis for the last 20 yrs. Tried interferon and ribavirin, which had to stop treatments due to side effects that were terrible. Got on the transplant list in Oct of 2014 and received a new liver on 19 Dec 2014. I was really blessed. Hep C was on a mission to destroy the new liver, but after 4 weeks of Harvoni, the virus is undetectable. Another blessing. Am still on treatments for 8 more weeks, but 0 side effects, so no problem."

For Hepatitis C "I started Harvoni on Dec 26. After 2 months of taking the pill once a day, I was cured of the virus. I continued with the 3rd month, and tomorrow is the final day and the final pill. I had absolutely no side effects the entire time. I am one grateful man at 64 years old. Thank you so much."

For Hepatitis C "I am thankful I went on this drug. The only side effects I experienced were feeling tired and weak the first month. After that, I felt so good. Never did I get sick once. I even had more energy than I had before I started this treatment. My treatment lasted for 16 weeks. I hope this will encourage others to get treatment. You will live in peace knowing you are cured of this terrible disease."

For Hepatitis C "I received 3 pints of blood in 1982 when my son was born 10 weeks early. I found out I had 1aC in 1995 with mild cirrhosis, 600,000 VL. Today marked the end of my 4th week of Harv. I had blood work done and find out Tuesday if the virus is gone. I'm on the 12-week treatment and I'm terrified of medicine, but I stay focused on the end result of being rid of this. Take at noon with food on my stomach. Drink lots of water. ALT was 100, now 21. No diarrhea or insomnia. The first 10 days were flu-like, dizziness, stuffy and hoarse, mild headache. I already feel like a new person though. Side effects almost gone. More energy and enthusiasm. Take rest time when needed. Just hold my breath and counting the days. Try to not dwell on it. Thankful for the cure!"

For Hepatitis C "Hep C non-detectable after 90-day treatment. For what it's worth, mine was a result of a blood transfusion in S.E. Asia in the early '70s. The V.A. turned a cold shoulder, my help came from the public sector. Decorated and honorable was not enough, some things never change. My service and injuries were still worth the privilege to serve this fine country of ours. My side effects were the norm. Take it for what it's worth, but those were greatly reduced by the use of medical pot. Now that I am cured, I have passed the pipe for the last time. God bless and good luck, sometimes you have to take the bitter with the sweet, it's well worth it."

For Hepatitis C "Apparently quite typical from reading many of your reviews... I contacted HEP C (Type 1A, Stage 2) back in the late 60s to early 70s from continued IV sharing with other dumbasses just like me. Tried to give blood some 20 years later, and they said no thanks. I'm like so many here, I also tried Interferon with Ribavirin, and it about killed me - I don't think I have ever quite recovered. The interferon/Ribavirin actually started to show some success, but then all my counts just blew up. I just met with my doctor today, and I'm about to start Harvoni and pretty excited. 12 weeks with 1 pill a day with a 95% success rate for my genotype sounds pretty appealing. All the best to you all, and here is to a long and healthy life!"

For Hepatitis C "Was diagnosed with hep C in 2002. Doctor says probably have had it for more than 40 years. Like many, have no idea how the disease was contracted. Have tried two previous treatments of interferon with no success. Started Harvoni 12 weeks ago, was undetectable after 4 weeks. Have suffered some aggravating side effects since my first week: headaches, fatigue, brain fog, and heartburn. Side effects subsided after three weeks but now have returned after 12 weeks. Got 12 more to go, I'll make it through. Not nearly as bad as interferon. Thanks, Gilead, for the good work."
