L-methylfolate for Folate Deficiency "I have a genetic mutation called MTHFR and struggle with extreme fatigue, extreme brain fog, inflammation, etc. I am on Deplin (L-methylfolate) 15 mg dosage, and it has helped me BOUNDS. I ran out recently after being on it for 8+ months, and I could immediately tell a difference. Symptoms that had previously alleviated came back very quickly and prohibited me from being able to engage in my usual activities."

L-methylfolate for Depression "I have been taking Deplin for 18 days, and I do notice a slight change in my depression, brain fog, and energy levels. I think it is being inhibited by my Adderall withdrawal, but I am hoping it is helpful since I've tried many medications and nothing has really helped."

For Folate Deficiency "I am homozygous for the minor allele of MTHFR C677T. This being said, I did not find methylfolate to help symptoms of depression. In fact, it seemed to make things worse (emotionality, brain fog, overstimulation, and an uncomfortable self-awareness). Methylation is very complicated when it comes to mood disorders. Some medications actually stabilize mood by de-methylating genes (valproate)."
