For Premature Labor "I’m currently 22 weeks with my third child. My first was delivered at 24 weeks and my 2nd at 33 with the buttocks Makena injection. This go around, I am using the auto injection in the back of my arm. I don’t know why they switched me, but I only had two shots so far, and yes, it is painful. It’s really the after pain for me. I also experience real bad stomach pains, as in stomach knots that cause me to go to the bathroom, resulting in diarrhea. I’m trying to at least make it to 33 weeks before stopping, but the stomach pains are really hard to bear. I’m hoping to switch back to the buttock shots because I don’t remember having these complications. I’m sure the shot is effective, it’s just the side effects that make it hard to bear."

For Premature Labor "I take Makena until 38 weeks, and now I am almost 40 weeks pregnant. Yes, they hurt and make you feel depressed, but I have a full-term baby. So, Makena is not so bad. I may even have to be induced. It makes baby stay in longer. I was scared to take Makena, but now I am happy. My beautiful boy is almost here. Use little ice after injection as they hurt really bad. I cried like a baby. I also had some itching at the injection site."

Hydroxyprogesterone for Premature Labor "Today is my first day taking the shot. I feel nauseous, weak, and the place where they gave me the shot hurts. I took it at 9 this morning, and it's already 4 pm. Is it normal to feel depressed or cry for no reason during pregnancy? I had a baby 4 years ago who passed away due to a cervix being thin. I had her at 20 weeks, and now I'm pregnant with my second child, and I'm 16 weeks. I hope everything goes well and I stop feeling like this."

Hydroxyprogesterone for Premature Labor "Still delivered prematurely at 29 weeks! The injections were painful, and the side effects were terrible. It's unfortunate that Makena is so expensive and ineffective."
