For Constipation "These work best for me. I have tried other laxatives and have suffered with cramps. The suppository helps - I put in one and within 5 minutes, I get results! I worry about using it too often and if there would be side effects...but no side effects! I am lucky that it works for me and it is predictable :)"

For Constipation "I experience constipation as a result of surgery some years ago. After several tests, my colorectal specialist recommended pelvic floor physical therapy and bowel retraining. The bowel retraining called for the use of glycerin suppositories daily after 2 days of no bowel movement, and then, if no bowel movement after 2 days of suppository use, I was to administer an enema to produce results. More often than not, the glycerin suppositories are effective in producing a bowel movement, thereby making it unnecessary to use an enema. The suppositories usually produce results within 15-20 minutes (I often insert the suppository before taking my morning shower, and it produces results by the time I finish). They are convenient to use, especially when traveling, and produce fast results. My physician feels that glycerin suppositories are less habit forming than most oral laxatives or enemas."
