For Migraine Prevention "I have Meniere's migraines and was previously on Emgality for years. I was on new insurance, and in February, the doctor put me on Ajovy as Emgality was not in the formulary. No major issues the first few months, but I noticed I started gaining some weight randomly. The doctor advised this was not a side effect. I started getting bloated and stomach pains and went to my primary doctor as I wasn’t sure what was going on. Everything seemed okay, and the only change I had was the Ajovy. From February through July, I gained 20 pounds, and my stomach is bloated like I’m pregnant and in my second trimester: I can barely eat because I feel full. The doctor recommended I stop the shot, which I will because I’m so tired of being bloated and fat. I’m an active person and have never been this heavy, and being 44, it’s unacceptable. I wish I knew how long it will take to get out of my system. I don’t recommend Ajovy."

For Migraine Prevention "I’ve taken Ajovy for 5 months. I had an immediate reduction from my weekly, sometimes biweekly, 3-day migraines. Unfortunately, my scale has been slowly tipping up by about a pound per month since I’ve started using Ajovy. I work out regularly and watch my calories. My body also appears more bloated and my muscles less defined. I’m going to talk to my doctor about going on Nurtec once every two days. I just cannot keep getting larger, soon, I’ll have no clothes that fit me. If you can deal with the weight gain, it’s totally worth it because Ajovy does reduce migraines. Lastly, I almost have a phobia about needles, so it’s a little dramatic for me to inject myself every month."

For Migraine Prevention "I have been using Ajovy for 10 months. Ajovy did work for my migraines. Five months ago, I began having lots of GI issues. I’ve been miserable! Almost rather have a migraine. Bloating, constipation, and cramping. I was worked up by gastroenterology. Everything was negative until they began reviewing my medications. Ajovy seems to be the guilty party that slows down GI motility."

For Migraine Prevention "47-year-old male trouble with migraines for the past 18 years, taking Ajovy, very helpful, but the side effects are tightness of chest, aching muscles, bloating, stomach problems, and heart palpitations. As I’m texting this right now, I am going through what I’m thinking is a heart attack all day until I came to the site and saw this. This is my second time taking it, the doctor said there were no side effects. It does help with my migraine, but the side effects are not fun. My chest is so tight I was wondering if I was having a heart attack - I'm 47 years old, fit, walk about 10 miles a day, and jog as well. I am 6 feet, 180 pounds, I’m in shape, and this is not good."

For Migraine Prevention "It took 3 injections for it to fully kick in, but Ajovy has been a lifesaver for me! I’ve been on it for 5 months now. I was getting around 25 migraine days a month (around half were moderate to severe), and now I have maybe just a couple. And the migraines I do get now are so minor that I can take ibuprofen or Excedrin and they go away. The side effects I have experienced came on around month 3. Bloating was super bad for around 2 months, but I fixed most of it by taking daily probiotics. Also, it gives me the strangest body aches for around 3-4 days a month. I will gladly take those minor side effects if it means no more migraines I’ve experienced in the past though!"
