For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took 4 pills, 150 mg, of this horrendous medication for yeast infection and thrush I got from another horrendous antibiotic, Amoxicillin (stay away from that drug), and none of them worked. That said, this med almost took me to the ER. Every pill I took, I thought I was dying, nausea accompanied by debilitating headache, chills, fatigue, muscle pain, sweaty; then all these symptoms are relieved by explosive diarrhea and resume when you take the next pill. Maybe this drug works for others, not for me. Now I take nystatin for my thrush along with probiotics and a low carb/sugar diet. I also take pau d'arco tea, oregano oil, and grapefruit seed extract; these all work better than this horrible drug. These yeast infections are horrible and need to be cleansed from the intestines if you took antibiotics because fluconazole will do nothing for it (it is for systemic infections), and after a few months, it will appear with revenge. Just do research on Candida, and you will be surprised!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took this pill a few times in the past couple of years, and it worked every time. My only side effect was nausea, so I took a nap during that. My insurance paid for most of it, I only paid $3.00. Compare $3.00 to Ministat 7 for about $20. I love this pill!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I went to my gyno. She gave me a prescription for this. I took it at night around 11:45 pm and went home, showered, and went to bed. So I didn't feel any side effects because I was sleeping. No nausea, no dizziness, no pain. This pill is free with my insurance and refills on this for a full year. (Some people say take two, so maybe in a week I will get another.)"

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took this pill 2 days ago. I have been sick ever since. I have an awful headache, constantly feel like throwing up, and I'm itchy. Stick to the cream, I have never had a reaction to any medications, so thought this would be fine. Don't risk it!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Since November, I've been battling my first yeast infection, just one symptom: burning. Thought it was a UTI, given antibiotics by day four, burning got worse, nausea, and vomiting. Two doctors, one specialist. No STD, healthy cervix, just what appears to be a 'mild' yeast infection. Well, if this is mild, I shudder at severe. Meds given: Flagyl, five pills at once, Sporanox, 14 days, 14-day prescribed suppositories, Canesten, 3 and 7, boric acid, four days, probiotic suppositories, three days, Monistat, 7, Sporanec, three days, 12 pills. Nothing worked. Diflucan 150 mg for three days, no change as yet, burning continues, now slight fever and body aches. Called doctor, says more tests for Candida die-off and COVID. Ha! Are doctors helping me or harming me???? I read reviews that say it gets worse before it works, so I'm hopeful the Diflucan works. I'll stick this out and no more meds, as this is tiring and driving me nuts."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was prescribed fluconazole for the first time for a mild yeast infection. Although I read the side effects of nausea, diarrhea, and stomach pain, I had no idea that this one pill would make me so violently ill. I had severe stomach pain that was so bad I was unable to sleep and do normal routines. If I had any idea that this one pill would cause so much pain, I would not have taken it. I am very angry with my OB for prescribing it and not telling me the severe side effects when there are other cream medications on the market. The severe side effect outweighs any benefit of the pill in curing a yeast infection. I am still sick from this pill and have no intention of taking another pill, clearly it was prescribed because of the low cost."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I took the one-dose pill yesterday for a yeast infection I got after being on a heavy course of antibiotics. The first time I took it on a full stomach, and it made me throw up within a couple of minutes of taking it. I called my doctor, and he called me in another dose. I took it at 7 pm last night, it is now 10:15 am the next morning. I feel some relief, but not completely gone yet. I suggest taking it on an empty stomach. That's the only way I could keep it down."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This pill works, but it has side effects. These side effects vary from person to person, but they are more intense than other antibiotics. Keep in mind, this pill stays in your bloodstream for 3 days, so side effects may last for a few days. Most of the 'really bad' comments you read come from people who have allergies, use other medications, or have other diseases. I think you can use this medicine best when you are not taking any medications or have no allergies and your immune system is really strong. I don’t think everyone can handle Fluconazole. Side effects I’ve experienced; Nausea, different taste in mouth, some kidney pain, lower abdominal pain. (Antibiotics make your kidneys tired) I took this pill for vaginal yeast infection, but it also helped me with oral thrush."

Fluconazole for Tinea Versicolor "After nine years with a fungal infection on the skin, I was given 100 MG/week for a month. I already took the last pill of the course, and all it has done so far is turn the spots pink and make them slightly bigger, and some itched more often (although one looks like it's starting to disappear)! But the side effects! Oh, the side effects! After the first pill, I felt extremely dizzy, headachy, and nauseous for an hour after bedtime. The next day, I had little appetite that only recovered that evening. The next two times, I took two Rolaids, which helped with the nausea. That left the headache to contend with all day the day after I took the pill. I took two ibuprofen three times to combat the headaches on the last pill. What a joke!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Took prescribed fluconazole 150 once a week for 4 weeks to treat yeast infection. First two weeks were horrible, it made my symptoms, of which I only had one (itching), worse, and the doctor did a pap and found the yeast much worse. Caused burning, irritated vulva and labia, redness, and itching intensified after the first and second doses. The third pill on the third week did better, but nausea was horrible and gave me a shaky feeling (could have been my anxiety). Fourth and final week, took the pill Monday, was dizzy and felt out of space within 30 minutes of the pill. Had stomach pain and loss of appetite, went to bed, woke up the next morning, my body felt like I was hit with the flu without the fever. Now on day 3 of the last dose, nausea comes and goes, and the shaky feeling comes and goes. I’m just hoping this medication gets out of my system soon so I can be back to normal, but as far as the yeast infection goes, I feel much better after taking the third dose and added probiotics and plenty of water."

For Candida Urinary Tract Infection "I am a 38-year-old male who had a possible yeast infection. My nurse practitioner gave me this on a whim to see if it cleared up a possible yeast infection because a round of antibiotics didn't work. I am currently on a blood pressure medicine that I was told it wouldn't react with. Let me just say this: I took only one 150 mg tablet, and as of 3 days later, I am still extremely fatigued with nausea and some dizziness. The BP medicine I'm on is called Bystolic 5 mg for anyone's reference. This medicine stays in your system entirely too long as well, especially for one pill. I don't know if anyone knows a way to get relief or not, or if they can even answer here. I thought I had COVID, these side effects are so bad. If I was coughing or had a fever, I would have literally gotten tested."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Had the odd yeast infection, usually after antibiotics or too much beer and sugar. Always taken an oral pill, and easily sorted. In NZ, chemist gave me fluconazole. A few hours after taking it, appetite went, 5 hrs, severe nausea, 10 hrs I woke up and vomited the most disgusting, chemical bile. Spent the next day feeling like I'd been hit by a train. All my joints and limbs were aching, bad headache, no energy at all. Started feeling better the next day as nausea was subsiding, then on day 4 I started bleeding with uterus pain. Fresh blood as period wasn't for another 2 weeks. Day 5, bleeding, still itchy, still sore. Rubbish!!"

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Treated for candida infection, 3 strains, and had lowered immunity. So had Canesten and Diflucan prescribed, 150 mg, fine for 1st day. Next day, severe migraine-like headaches that have lasted every day on and off, bar last 2 days. Off balance, anxiety, and severe nausea for 2 and a half, nearly 3 weeks now. Thrush has cleared up, but couldn't get my GP's surgery to give me an appointment for a couple of weeks. I've had this tablet before, no issues. Never again, feel really ill on it. I'm 65 and normally very active, have had to suspend my gym membership for a month as I feel so unwell. Do not take this drug."

For Esophageal Candidiasis "After being sick for a whole month, every test came back negative that you could think of. Finally got admitted to the hospital, and after endoscopy, found esophagus fungus. Took 200 mg of Diflucan for 14 days, which I made it to the last pill due to the horrible side effects of nausea, sick to stomach, massive headache, itching, rapid heart rate, tremors, lost taste for everything, anxiety that I have not ever had before, stomach and body pains, brain fog, dizzy. Called the GI doctor on call, and he said to stop taking the medication, then I got a letter in the mail to take 100 mg for 21 days. With these side effects, no way. But I went ahead and took 150 mg of the one I had left, and NO WAY would I ever take this again, so they called in another antifungal that was going to cost 400.00, which I have no insurance. Plus, the pharmacy said since I had these reactions, another may do the same because of the class of drugs. Can't wait for this to leave my system."
