For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I went to my gyno. She gave me a prescription for this. I took it at night around 11:45 pm and went home, showered, and went to bed. So I didn't feel any side effects because I was sleeping. No nausea, no dizziness, no pain. This pill is free with my insurance and refills on this for a full year. (Some people say take two, so maybe in a week I will get another.)"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "After {stupidly} using a scented body wash (instead of my normal unscented soap for sensitive skin) to wash my lower extremities, I non-surprisingly got a very irritated yeast infection. I considered just buying Monistat or any other drugstore cream because I wanted medicine ASAP. Instead (being that it was my first yeast infection), I went to my GYN to get something stronger that would knock the infection out of the park in the best way possible. He prescribed me 3 pills to take for 3 consecutive days. I took my first pill around 6:00. About 10:00 that night, I passed out. I did some research and found out that dizziness was a side effect. After a week, the infection was gone. (I never passed out or even got dizzy with the 2nd pills). Thankfully."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I went to the GYN with burning, irritation, and mild clear/white discharge about three weeks ago. Had a pelvic exam and swabs were taken. She said it looked most like a yeast infection and prescribed Diflucan, one tab immediately and one tab three days later. Labs came back after both doses had already been taken, and the infection was bacterial (BV). Was prescribed metronidazole gel, which then caused the yeast infection I didn't have in the first place. Back to the Diflucan. Three pills in one month, but since the third pill (when I actually now do have a yeast infection), I am having dizziness. Annoying, unending spinning. Also, the yeast symptoms did not abate after four days. Monistat 3 helped in one night. Never again, Diflucan."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am a 43-year-old female, and this was my first yeast infection. I was reluctant to take this medication because I am typically an all-natural remedy person, but the itching and burning were so intense I thought I was going to go insane! After reading reviews, I thought I would give it a try. I did not get relief like some within hours, it took one day to feel a little relief, but still very itchy. It took almost four days before the itchy part went away. I am on day six and about 95% better. I did not have any side effects, except on day three, there was a little time I felt dizzy and had diarrhea-not horrible, though. All in all, I would take this medication again if I had another yeast infection. I also cannot swallow pills but was able to break this in half (I was told I could crush it otherwise). I did also have a couple of drinks and had no side effects and didn't have any bad interactions. I would recommend."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I tried the one-day Monistat, symptoms came back. Tried the seven-day Monistat, better for a few days. Symptoms came back with a vengeance! It took some days to get into my doctor, so the itching and burning were beyond intense. I’m hypersensitive to most medications and was really apprehensive about taking the pill. My lady regions were completely itch-free 8 hours later… Eureka! I am experiencing a severe headache and feel dizzy, and my brain just feels weird in general, so I’ve kept it to light duty today and drank over 80 ounces of water so far. I’m optimistic that tomorrow I’ll wake up feeling better in that regard. This medicine for a yeast infection, by far, has been the best!"

For Candida Urinary Tract Infection "Took 1 pill (150 mg) and a few days later got terrible abdominal pain, testicular pain, headache, and dizziness. Three weeks later, I still have dizziness and minor testicular pain and swelling. The side effects are worse than the original symptoms. I would avoid this drug. It should not be over the counter and should be prescription only."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have had recurrent yeast infections, 3 in the past 6 months. I tried OTC Monistat, it helped, but the infection came back the week before my period, 2 months in a row. That prompted me to see my MD, she gave me the one-dose treatment, and after about 3 hours of taking the pill, I had a severe headache accompanied by vertigo, which lasted for about 6 hours. It subsided with some Tylenol, and I felt a little flushed and sweaty. The headache tried to come back the next day, and again I had to take Tylenol. As for the treatment of the infection, it did knock it out, but ouch, the headache was awful."

Fluconazole for Tinea Versicolor "After nine years with a fungal infection on the skin, I was given 100 MG/week for a month. I already took the last pill of the course, and all it has done so far is turn the spots pink and make them slightly bigger, and some itched more often (although one looks like it's starting to disappear)! But the side effects! Oh, the side effects! After the first pill, I felt extremely dizzy, headachy, and nauseous for an hour after bedtime. The next day, I had little appetite that only recovered that evening. The next two times, I took two Rolaids, which helped with the nausea. That left the headache to contend with all day the day after I took the pill. I took two ibuprofen three times to combat the headaches on the last pill. What a joke!"

For Fungal Infections "Wow. I landed in the ER with the sorest of sore throats. I have a systemic yeast infection. I'm taking fluconazole 100 mg for a month, this medication is no joke! It makes me insanely dizzy, my legs feel as if they will fail. No appetite whatsoever. Brain fog, confusion. I'm going to have to bite the bullet until I'm finished in 2 weeks. The only plus side of the coin is that it is clearing up the thrush."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Awful! I was so dizzy even sitting down. My body dried out... hands, feet, face. My hands cracked open. Two days after taking, my throat felt funny and the entire inside of my mouth had white stuff all over. I can't say it works because the doctor diagnosed me with yeast and it wasn't. I actually had an abscess and switched to Bactrim. But I know I will never touch that stuff again."

Fluconazole for Tinea Versicolor "This is a very harsh drug... that I do not wish to ever take again... and I cautioned anyone that takes this drug. It made me dizzy... very tired... I took it for a whole month three times a week... my doctor says the symptoms should go away... but I still feel tired and do not have the energy that I did before I took it. I also have severe bloating and gas. It has been weeks and the symptoms have not gone away... I'm getting very worried that it cost me damage to my liver... again, I will say I do not think the drug should be on the market... I regret ever taking it... took it for scalp eczema... because I am going through menopause... believe me, the scalp eczema is nothing compared to the side effects... caution everyone to do not take this drug!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Took prescribed fluconazole 150 once a week for 4 weeks to treat yeast infection. First two weeks were horrible, it made my symptoms, of which I only had one (itching), worse, and the doctor did a pap and found the yeast much worse. Caused burning, irritated vulva and labia, redness, and itching intensified after the first and second doses. The third pill on the third week did better, but nausea was horrible and gave me a shaky feeling (could have been my anxiety). Fourth and final week, took the pill Monday, was dizzy and felt out of space within 30 minutes of the pill. Had stomach pain and loss of appetite, went to bed, woke up the next morning, my body felt like I was hit with the flu without the fever. Now on day 3 of the last dose, nausea comes and goes, and the shaky feeling comes and goes. I’m just hoping this medication gets out of my system soon so I can be back to normal, but as far as the yeast infection goes, I feel much better after taking the third dose and added probiotics and plenty of water."

For Candida Urinary Tract Infection "I am a 38-year-old male who had a possible yeast infection. My nurse practitioner gave me this on a whim to see if it cleared up a possible yeast infection because a round of antibiotics didn't work. I am currently on a blood pressure medicine that I was told it wouldn't react with. Let me just say this: I took only one 150 mg tablet, and as of 3 days later, I am still extremely fatigued with nausea and some dizziness. The BP medicine I'm on is called Bystolic 5 mg for anyone's reference. This medicine stays in your system entirely too long as well, especially for one pill. I don't know if anyone knows a way to get relief or not, or if they can even answer here. I thought I had COVID, these side effects are so bad. If I was coughing or had a fever, I would have literally gotten tested."

For Fungal Infections "My doctor prescribed this for small intestinal fungal overgrowth (SIFO). 200 mg on day 1 and then 100 mg for 13 days. Days 3 and 4 were hell, and so I halved the dose to 50 mg. Today is only day 5, I haven’t even taken it today, and I feel like total garbage. I’m dizzy and sleepy, like I was given an Ambien, and I was aching all over. Today the aching is better, but I can’t keep my eyes open and also can’t sleep. This is hell. I don’t think I can continue with it."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Treated for candida infection, 3 strains, and had lowered immunity. So had Canesten and Diflucan prescribed, 150 mg, fine for 1st day. Next day, severe migraine-like headaches that have lasted every day on and off, bar last 2 days. Off balance, anxiety, and severe nausea for 2 and a half, nearly 3 weeks now. Thrush has cleared up, but couldn't get my GP's surgery to give me an appointment for a couple of weeks. I've had this tablet before, no issues. Never again, feel really ill on it. I'm 65 and normally very active, have had to suspend my gym membership for a month as I feel so unwell. Do not take this drug."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I was put on fluconazole for a pretty bad vaginal yeast infection. I had a mild one in the past and had taken the one-time fluconazole pill and had zero side effects. This time I had to take one pill, 150 mg initially, then one more 3 days later. After I took the first pill, I only had mild stomach pain, which wasn’t a big deal. I started getting chills on night 2 of being on it and just felt unwell. I was extremely tired all the time. A couple of hours after taking the second pill, I felt horrible. Pale, dizzy, tired, chills, feverish, numbness in my cheeks, hands, and feet. Diarrhea, bad taste in my mouth, and a headache that came and went. I contemplated going to the ER. The yeast infection is gone, so the medicine works, but the side effects were too severe and scary. I can’t wait until this poison wears off in a few days. If you have a yeast infection, I would try Monistat and stay away from this."
