Exenatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started on Bydureon a couple of weeks ago. First time followed all the steps and did okay. 12 hours later I was vomiting. Felt awful for 24 hours. Very constipating. Tried to do second shot yesterday and wouldn’t mix. Decided to try another one today. Mixed okay. Syringe button would not depress today. So 2 out of 4 not working. Who knows about the one left. Ridiculous amount of time involved and money. Calling doctor Monday. Not worth it, especially when you read the clinical trials and it is really hardly different from Metformin with far less risks."

Exenatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I took Bydureon for two weeks before my pancreas shut down completely! I even told my doctor that I had a history of pancreatitis, and he prescribed it anyway. Within one month, I was so sick. I was vomiting, passing explosive gas, and having explosive diarrhea! I lost 25 lbs that month. This is my experience with the drug."

Exenatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Took my first injection on Friday night, along with 500 mg Metformin and Jardiance 25 mg in the morning. On Friday night and Saturday, I had severe cramps in my legs and hands. I couldn’t leave home. Sunday, I vomited after drinking a smoothie and felt nauseated after having my dinner. I soaked in Epsom salt and hydrated with alkaline water. The cramps got better, but I was still nauseated. Sipping on peppermint tea. Hope the nausea goes away, or I won’t be taking this again. I really want it to work for me, as I could benefit from the improved cholesterol and heart health, as well as reduced A1C. #praying"

Exenatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Yes, I crave sugar too. I was on Saxenda, I lost 11 lbs in 2 weeks with no cravings. It was very good for me. Now the weight is back on because my insurance won't cover the Saxenda. I tried Victoza, which was not good: constipation, vomiting, bloating."

"I started on Byetta about 4 months ago. I have lost 45 lbs and have never felt better. My blood sugar readings have gone from 275 to 135, two hours after a meal. I take the 5, the doctor tried to put me on 10, but I was vomiting after meals and had to go back to 5. This drug has been a godsend for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Injection day - So this stuff is supposed to bring my A1C number down (6.0) and my fasting glucose (95), plus I may lose weight, and it will control my PCOS symptoms. I was nauseous and very sleepy. Took a nap, went for a brisk walk around the neighborhood, and played with my kid. Nothing bad to report except that it hurts to eat anything more than half my fist size (and my hands are small). Day 2 - vomiting begins! I was violently hurling. Couldn't go to work and I kept passing out. Went to urgent care as it was a holiday and my PCP was not in. They tell me to take these nausea meds and if I keep throwing up, I need to go to the ER. Could not eat but a few bites of food the entire day. Rating it higher than 1 since I did lose weight - 7 lbs so far."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Have now stopped Bydureon after two years due to vomiting attacks and general malaise, which come on about 36 hours after taking it. It brought my blood sugar down a bit, but the side effects are not worth it. I’m 72, type II diabetic for 30 plus years and also take 3000 mg of metformin and diamicron each day, as well as drugs for high blood pressure and atrial fibrillation, so not exactly a healthy specimen. Last fasting sugar was 7.3. Specialist has suggested Trulicity to replace the Bydureon, but after reading reviews for it, I’m not keen to try it."

Exenatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Bydureon for three weeks now. I take a weekly injection. Each time, so far, I have heartburn the day after injecting. The heartburn lessens a bit through the week. Also have periods of nausea, but these symptoms are very mild compared to Victoza. Victoza made me vomit, and I could not eat anything while I was taking it."
