"I was on Tri-Lo-Sprintec for two months because I was having painful, irregular periods. The first month was amazing for me; I just had breast tenderness the whole month. I do have a history of anxiety and depression, and my mood was better than normal on it, which I was glad about. However, it started to go downhill the second month. Towards the end of the second month, I was experiencing severe nonstop nausea and vomiting, and I could not take it anymore. My periods did get lighter, though-they were a dream. No cramps at all on it, and it did its job; it’s just that the physical side effects were too much to handle."

For Birth Control "I was taking this medication because I had uterine cysts and my doctor thought it would help get rid of them while also making my period less painful/heavy. I can't speak on the effectiveness of this medication with that since I would always throw up the pills within an hour of taking them (even with eating food before!). I don't know why my body rejected these pills, but they made me violently ill and nauseated."

For Birth Control "Like most other women on here, I started out with Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. Then my insurance wouldn't cover it, now I'm taking Tri-Lo-Sprintec. I've been on it for close to a year now and haven't had many negative side effects. The first two or three months I had nausea, but that went away after a while. I have hardly any PMS symptoms, my periods are regular and last 5 days max. And not many breakouts. I'm happy with this pill and would continue to take it. The one thing I noticed that's different from the name brand is when I jump straight into a new pack to skip my period, I have spotting for a week or two."

For Birth Control "When I was 18, the first time I saw a gyno, she prescribed me Tri-Lo-Sprintec. She gave me a packet of Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, which I think the pharmacist said was basically the same thing. For both, I had no problem. To start off, I never really had bad cramps or anything major, and I definitely didn't feel anything after starting birth control. After the price for Tri-Lo-Sprintec went up, I got off of it. I am about to go on Tri-Sprintec, which my doctor said is just a little higher dosage, so that's probably where all those other symptoms come from (nausea, mood swings, acne, weight gain). As for everyone else who has been experiencing these symptoms, they are also very common when you PMS, except for the nausea, but mainly I think it's psychological."

For Birth Control "The first month I was on this birth control, it wasn't too bad, other than some nausea because I was adjusting to the birth control. I just finished my third month on it, and the past two months have been terrible. I have anxiety almost every day, and I can't even remember the last time I got decent sleep. My periods have been the worst I've ever experienced (and I'm irregular when not on birth control-so when I do get a period, it's bad). The cramping is unimaginable, and I pretty much can't sleep at all in the days leading up to and during my period. As soon as I finish this pack, my doctor wants me to stop."
