For Birth Control "I had used the shot and the implant. After a 2-year hiatus, I wanted to try the pill. This pill has increased my appetite. I would starve (off the pill) from stress. I had nausea the first few days, but I had it off the pill too. My stubborn cystic acne reduced. I felt some anxiety the first few days, but nothing new. My bra size went up. I get headaches sometimes, but it’s probably my caffeine dependency. I got asked if I lost weight. I’ve had worse side effects off other medicines and vitamins and stress than right now. The only reason I’m not rating higher is ‘cause I’m used to “heavy-duty” birth control. Those methods feel brutal, but I had peace of mind knowing there’d be no need to get an abortion. That’s why I can’t give it a 9 or 10. It may be right for some women’s bodies. I mean, I’m super sensitive to side effects, but I’ve been normal. So try it for a week and stop if it’s bad, don’t stick with it."

For Birth Control "Everyone's body is completely different, and Tri-Lo-Sprintec may work for some, but my experience was not the best. I took it for about 8 months, and during the last two months, I would have anxiety and outbursts of crying and felt really depressed. I also completely lost my sex drive. It was really hard for me to continue, so I stopped taking it, and all of the symptoms went away within 42 hours. The reason I'm giving it 2 stars and not one is that it did work for a while and didn't cause acne or weight gain, but I will not be taking it ever again."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this medication for 7 months now, and I wish I would’ve stopped it sooner. I have had issues with any birth control I have tried. Unfortunately, my body is very sensitive. This medication has been by far the worst! I have experienced significant hair loss and severe panic/anxiety attacks, which I have never had before. I thought my body would adjust to this medication, however, it has definitely gotten worse over time."

For Birth Control "I was put on this Tri-Lo-Sprintec birth control since my other one got discontinued. Within the first month, I started not feeling like myself at all. Well, let me tell you, I’ve never experienced anxiety until taking this pill, nor panic attacks. Easter morning, I had my first panic attack and had no idea at the time until I went to the ER. I ended up having another panic attack three days later. I was recommended to see a therapist. So, I saw a therapist, and she told me I was depressed. Depression doesn’t run in my family, nor have I ever had it before, but this pill made me to where I didn’t leave my bedroom for about two days. Didn’t want to see friends or family, go out, do anything, go to work, driving was the worst. This anxiety stuck with me for a good two months after stopping this horrible pill. I’m now six months off of it and finally feeling like myself and normal again. This pill does help by not getting pregnant and helps with your cramps, but that’s it."

For Birth Control "I started this Tri-Lo-Sprintec pill in March of this year. Within a couple of weeks of taking it, I noticed I was really anxious all the time. I ended up having a panic attack and going to the ER. (At this point, I had no idea it was the pill). I went to my doctor to discuss my frequent feeling of anxiety, to the point it started to affect my life. I was given anti-anxiety meds and referred to a therapist. My family is great, my career is going well, our children are thriving. What could be causing me to lose my mind? (At least I felt like I was losing my mind). Fast forward... I was on my last week on Tri-Lo-Sprintec (placebo pills) when I noticed my anxiety decreased a little bit. Whew! Finally, light at the end of the tunnel. Had my menstrual cycle and started my new pack of pills that Sunday. I ended up in the ER again that same day. My anxiety was bad, panic attack, and suicidal thoughts! I have been off this pill for three weeks now, and I am just now starting to feel like myself again."

For Birth Control "I had used BC before. I stopped it because I was not sexually active anymore. I got the TLS this time, and can definitely see a few side effects in these three weeks. From lack of appetite, mood swings (also an anxiety attack while taking a class, NOT GREAT AT ALL); zero sex drive and migraine. My period during the first week went full for five days and spotting a dark tone for a few days after, too. Which is very irregular in my case. Everyone's different, but I definitely don't see myself using them again."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control 1 month ago and had just taken my second pill of the 2nd month pack when I was at work and was experiencing anxiety and nausea before I ultimately started to sweat profusely and nearly pass out. I had been experiencing heightened anxiety, waves of nausea, no libido except for around my period, weight gain, and severely painful breasts the whole month before. My acne did clear up, and I was not having severe PMS and depression like I was before, so I thought my symptoms were from other things until I got to this page today."

For Birth Control "Worse pill ever. This birth control gave me hypertension that it was 167/112. I was at the ER for hours doing X-ray, blood work, and CT scan. Leading up to my visit to the ER, I had horrible chest pains, discomfort, and tightness. All my results came back normal, and once I decided to stop this pill, the next day my blood pressure went down to 122/82. So please, listen to your body. Before the chest pains, I suffered with horrible headaches, migraines on the 2nd and 4th week of the pills, also suffered from horrible anxiety, mood swings, insomnia, and loss of appetite."

For Birth Control "I was on Tri-Lo-Sprintec for a while, and I thought it was such a great BC that didn't cause me to have anxiety or mood swings... until I received the scary news that I had a blood clot in both of my lungs. The clot caused permanent damage to my lung and should have killed me. I'll take my cramps over this pain any day."

For Birth Control "Not usually a review type of person, but everyone needs to know: THIS IS TERRIBLE. I was on Lo Loestrin Fe for four years with no problems, short 3-day periods. Then insurance decided I needed to try a generic brand and I was sad about 7-day placebos, but gave it a try. Switching after my first month back! I have had 8 breakouts of cold sores this month, usually once a year, and very HEAVY and long periods, and before BC they weren't this bad! I'm going through 3 supers a day, and I'm 5'1", 110 lbs. Also EXTREME irritability and anxiety. Need to study for the MCAT, so I'm switching back ASAP. Worst BC on the market. Don't take the risk! Ask your doctor for something else."

For Birth Control "Used for approximately 1 month. Experienced restless nights, increased emotion-i.e., felt I was going to cry over silly things that wouldn't normally make me emotional, mood swings, increased anxiety, headaches, and increased agitation. I'm very in tune with my body and didn't feel like myself. I felt like I was 'PMSing' the entire month. Was prescribed Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo-however, my insurance only covered generics and substitutes a 'similar' product. No similar really-with the exception of both being labeled as birth control. Switching ASAP. I rated it a '3' because ultimately it did its job, and I did not get pregnant."

For Birth Control "I’ve used birth control since I was 14, now I'm almost 19, and my primary use is cycle regulation with acne control. I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for a while and loved it before my pharmacy randomly switched me to Tri-Lo-Sprintec. I was scared at first, and although it kept up with what I wanted from the pill to begin with, it’s been around a year or two on this generic pill, and I hate it. I gained 40 lbs, I have severe anxiety, I’m depressed, moody, and I eat almost everything in sight ever since I was put onto this pill. Just recently I’ve been spotting in between cycles as well, and I’m wondering if the weight gain from this pill has made it less effective since it’s just the Lo version. Definitely talking to my gyno or PCP about alternative birth control methods next visit. If your pharmacy attempts to put you on this pill and you have the ability to switch, do it. I just want to be me again."

For Ovarian Cysts "Every month, I’m in bed with my heating pad, crying for days because the pain is so intense. My ovarian cysts began to burst a few years ago, so my old gyno put me on three different birth controls, I couldn’t tell you the names because it’s been so long, but none of them worked. My new gyno put me on Tri-Lo-Sprintec last month, and it’s honestly been a game changer. I have no pain except for the first couple of days of my period, but it’s NOWHERE near the pain I used to be in. I haven’t had an increase in mood swings, anxiety, or depression at all, I’ve been much more calm actually. The only problem I’ve had is the acne. My skin is normally VERY clear except for the week leading up to my period, but I’ve had consistent acne. It’s controllable but annoying, so I told my gyno, and she switched me to Mili. Hopefully, the transition’s smooth!"

For Birth Control "The first month I was on this birth control, it wasn't too bad, other than some nausea because I was adjusting to the birth control. I just finished my third month on it, and the past two months have been terrible. I have anxiety almost every day, and I can't even remember the last time I got decent sleep. My periods have been the worst I've ever experienced (and I'm irregular when not on birth control-so when I do get a period, it's bad). The cramping is unimaginable, and I pretty much can't sleep at all in the days leading up to and during my period. As soon as I finish this pack, my doctor wants me to stop."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Tri-Lo-Sprintec for over a year now, but in the last 4-ish months, I've started to get worse PMS, super bloated, tender breasts, exhaustion, and mild anxiety and lack of motivation, even for my favorite sport, rock climbing. My sex drive has even gone down, and I used to be insatiable. I initially went on this birth control to clear up my acne, and it used to help my PMS symptoms, but now they are back and just as severe, if not worse, and they start week 2 of my pack and last until my period starts. Except my skin is still clear, that is the only benefit. I've been incredibly uncomfortable, and I am on my last pack, hopefully getting an IUD when I get my next period. I used to feel great on this, now I feel terrible."

For Birth Control "I thought I’d be fine on the Tri-Lo-Sprintec pill because it’s the generic for Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, and I had a flawless experience with that one. But this one gave me really bad anxiety I was unable to control and panic attacks. Gave it half stars because it prevented pregnancy."
